2 Corinthians 5
1 FOR we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle should be taken down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (aiōnios g166)
এখন আমরা জানি যে, যদি এই পার্থিব তাঁবু, যার মধ্যে আমরা বসবাস করি, তা যদি ধ্বংস হয়ে যায়, তাহলে আমাদের জন্য আছে এক ঈশ্বরের দেওয়া গৃহ, স্বর্গে এক চিরন্তন আবাস, যা মানুষের হাতে তৈরি নয়। (aiōnios g166)
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our mansion which is from heaven;
এই সময়কালে আমরা আর্তনাদ করছি, আমাদের স্বর্গীয় আবাস পরিহিত হওয়ার জন্য আকাঙ্ক্ষা করছি,
3 that so invested, we may not be found naked.
কারণ যখন আমরা পোশাক পরিহিত হব, আমাদের বস্ত্রহীন দেখা যাবে না।
4 For we which are in this tabernacle, groan, being burdened; wherein we desire not to be unclothed, but clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life.
কারণ আমরা যতক্ষণ এই তাঁবুর মধ্যে আছি, আমরা আর্তনাদ করি ও ভারগ্রস্ত হই, কারণ আমরা পোশাকহীন হতে চাই না, কিন্তু আমাদের স্বর্গীয় আবাসের দ্বারা আবৃত হতে চাই, যেন যা কিছু নশ্বর, তা জীবনের দ্বারা কবলিত হয়।
5 But he that hath wrought us for this very thing is God, who also hath given us the earnest of the spirit.
এখন ঈশ্বর আমাদের এই উদ্দেশ্যেই সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং আগামী সময়ে যা সন্নিকট, তার নিশ্চয়তাস্বরূপ পবিত্র আত্মাকে আমাদের অগ্রিম দান করেছেন।
6 Therefore we have always confidence, and know that whilst we are indwelling in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
অতএব, আমরা সবসময়ই সুনিশ্চিত এবং জানি যে, যতক্ষণ আমরা এই শরীরে অবস্থান করছি, আমরা প্রভু থেকে দূরে আছি।
7 (for we walk by faith, not by sight.)
আমরা বিশ্বাস দ্বারা জীবনযাপন করি, দৃশ্য বস্তুর দ্বারা নয়।
8 We are confident indeed, and with pleasure expect to go out from the body, and to dwell within with the Lord:
আমরা সুনিশ্চিত, তাই আমি বলি, আমরা বেশি করে চাইব, শরীর থেকে দূরে থেকে প্রভুর সান্নিধ্যে গিয়ে বাস করি।
9 wherefore also our ambition is, that whether dwelling in the body, or out of the body, we may be acceptable to him.
তাই আমরা এই শরীরে বাস করি বা এর থেকে দূরে থাকি, আমাদের লক্ষ্য হল তাঁকে সন্তুষ্ট করা।
10 For we must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ, that each may receive the things done in the body according to what he hath done, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
কারণ আমরা সকলে খ্রীষ্টের বিচারাসনের সামনে অবশ্যই উপস্থিত হব, যেন প্রত্যেকেই শরীরে বসবাস করার কালে, সৎ বা অসৎ, যে কাজই করেছে, তার প্রাপ্য ফল পায়।
11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we have been made manifest to God, and I hope also have been made manifest in your consciences.
তাহলে, প্রভুকে ভয় করার অর্থ কী, তা আমরা জানি; সেই কারণে আমরা সব মানুষকে তা বোঝানোর চেষ্টা করি। আমরা যে কী প্রকার, তা ঈশ্বরের কাছে স্পষ্ট। আমি আশা করি, তোমাদের বিবেকের কাছেও তা স্পষ্ট।
12 For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion of glorying on our behalf, that ye may have an answer for those who glory in countenance, and not in heart.
আমরা আবার তোমাদের কাছে নিজেদের প্রশংসা করার চেষ্টা করছি না, কিন্তু আমাদের জন্য তোমাদের গর্ব করার একটি সুযোগ দিচ্ছি, যেন যারা অন্তরের বিষয় নিয়ে গর্বিত না হয়ে বাহ্যিক প্রদর্শন নিয়ে গর্ব করে, তোমরা তাদের উত্তর দিতে পারো।
13 For if we are transported out of ourselves, it is for God; or if we are sober-minded, it is for your sake.
যদি আমরা উন্মাদ হয়েছি, তাহলে তা ঈশ্বরের জন্যই হয়েছি; যদি আমরা স্বাভাবিক অবস্থায় আছি, তাহলে তা তোমাদেরই জন্য।
14 For the love of Christ constraineth us, because we judge thus, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
কারণ খ্রীষ্টের প্রেম আমাদের বাধ্য করেছে এবং আমরা নিশ্চিত যে, একজন যখন সকলের জন্য মৃত্যুবরণ করলেন, সেই কারণে সকলেরই মৃত্যু হল।
15 and he died for all, that they who live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him that died for them, and rose again.
আর তিনি সকলের জন্য মৃত্যুবরণ করেছেন, যেন যারা জীবিত আছে, তারা আর যেন নিজেদের জন্য জীবনধারণ না করে, কিন্তু তাঁর জন্য করে, যিনি তাদের জন্য মৃত্যুবরণ করেছেন ও পুনরায় উত্থাপিত হয়েছেন।
16 Wherefore from the present moment know we no man after the flesh: yea though we have also known Christ after the flesh, yet so henceforth know we him no more.
তাই, এখন থেকে জাগতিক মানদণ্ড অনুসারে আমরা কাউকে জানি না। যদিও খ্রীষ্টকে আমরা জাগতিক মানদণ্ড অনুসারে জানতাম, কিন্তু এখন আর জানি না।
17 Wherefore if any person be in Christ, he is a new creation: the old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
অতএব, কেউ যদি খ্রীষ্টে থাকে, সে এক নতুন সৃষ্টি; পুরোনো বিষয় সব অতীত হয়েছে, দেখো সব নতুন হয়ে উঠেছে।
18 But all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
এসবই ঈশ্বর থেকে হয়েছে, যিনি খ্রীষ্টের মাধ্যমে তাঁর নিজের সঙ্গে আমাদের পুনর্মিলিত করেছেন এবং পুনর্মিলনের সেই পরিচর্যা আমাদের দিয়েছেন।
19 namely, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing to them their offences: and hath committed to us the word of reconciliation.
তা হল এই যে, ঈশ্বর জগৎকে খ্রীষ্টের মাধ্যমে তাঁর সঙ্গে পুনর্মিলিত করছিলেন, মানুষের পাপসকল আর তাদের বিরুদ্ধে গণ্য করেননি। আর সেই পুনর্মিলনের বার্তা ঘোষণা করা তিনি আমাদের উপর ন্যস্ত করেছেন।
20 Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God exhorted you by us; we entreat you for Christ’s sake, be ye reconciled to God.
অতএব, আমরা খ্রীষ্টের রাজদূত, ঈশ্বর যেন আমাদের মাধ্যমে তাঁর আবেদন জানাচ্ছিলেন। আমরা খ্রীষ্টের পক্ষে তোমাদের কাছে এই মিনতি করছি, ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে পুনর্মিলিত হও।
21 For he hath made him, who knew no sin, to be a sin offering for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
যিনি পাপ জানতেন না, ঈশ্বর তাঁকে আমাদের পক্ষে পাপস্বরূপ করলেন, যেন আমরা তাঁর দ্বারা ঈশ্বরের ধার্মিকতাস্বরূপ হতে পারি।
