< 1 Corinthians 10 >

1 BUT I would not that you should be ignorant, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
Anuanom, mepɛ sɛ metwe mo adwene ba nsɛm a ɛtoo yɛn nananom a wɔdii Mose akyi no so. Omununkum bɔɔ wɔn nyinaa ho ban maa wɔn nyinaa faa Ɛpo Kɔkɔɔ no mu asomdwoeɛ mu.
2 and were all baptised unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
Omununkum no ne Ɛpo no mu, wɔbɔɔ wɔn nyinaa asu sɛ Mose akyidifoɔ.
3 and did all eat the same spiritual meat;
Wɔn nyinaa dii honhom fam aduane
4 and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual rock which followed them; but that rock was Christ.
na wɔnom honhom fam anonneɛ. Wɔnom honhom botan a na ɔne wɔn nam no mu nsuo; na saa ɔbotan no yɛ Kristo no ankasa.
5 Nevertheless with the most of them God was not well pleased, for they were destroyed in the wilderness.
Yeinom nyinaa akyi no, na Onyankopɔn ani nsɔ wɔn mu pii, enti na wɔn amu guguu basaa wɔ ɛserɛ no so hɔ no.
6 Now these things were examples for us, that we might not be coveters of evil things, as they also coveted.
Seesei, yeinom nyinaa yɛ nhwɛsoɔ ma yɛn na ɛbɔ yɛn kɔkɔ nso sɛ, ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛpɛ bɔne sɛdeɛ wɔyɛeɛ no,
7 Neither be ye idolaters as some of them; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to sport themselves.”
ɛnna ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛsom ahoni sɛdeɛ wɔn mu bi yɛeɛ no. Sɛdeɛ Atwerɛsɛm no ka sɛ, “Nnipa no tenaa ase, didi nomee, na wɔgoroo abosomgorɔ.”
8 Neither let us commit whoredom, as some of them also committed, and in one day fell twenty-three thousand.
Ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛbɔ adwaman, sɛdeɛ wɔn mu bi yɛeɛ no na da koro wɔn mu ɔpeduonumiɛnsa wuwuiɛ no.
9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents.
Ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛsɔ Awurade hwɛ sɛdeɛ wɔn mu bi yɛeɛ no maa awɔ kekaa wɔn kunkumm wɔn no.
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and perished by the destroyer.
Ɛnsɛ sɛ monwiinwii sɛdeɛ wɔn mu bi yɛeɛ maa ɔsɛe ɔbɔfoɔ sɛee wɔn no.
11 Now all these things happened unto them as examples, but they are written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages are come. (aiōn g165)
Yeinom nyinaa baa wɔn so de yɛɛ nhwɛsoɔ maa afoforɔ. Na wɔtwerɛ guu hɔ sɛ kɔkɔbɔ maa yɛn. Ɛfiri sɛ, yɛte hɔ sɛ ɛrenkyɛre na ɛberɛ no aba awieeɛ. (aiōn g165)
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.
Obiara a ɔdwene sɛ ɔgyina hɔ no, ɔnhwɛ yie na wanhwe ase.
13 No temptation hath overtaken you, but what is common to men. And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted beyond what ye are able to bear; but will with the temptation make also a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear up under it.
Sɔhwɛ biara a aba wʼakwan mu no yɛ deɛ ɛba nnipa akwan mu. Esiane sɛ Onyankopɔn di ne bɔhyɛ so enti, ɔremma ho ɛkwan mma sɔhwɛ a ɛboro wʼahoɔden so nto wo. Sɛ sɔhwɛ ba wo so a, ɔbɛma wo ahoɔden ama woatumi agyina ano, na woanya ho nyansa nso.
14 Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
Enti me nnamfo pa, montwe mo ho mfiri ahonisom ho.
15 I speak as unto wise men: judge ye what I say.
Mekasa kyerɛ mo sɛ anyansafoɔ. Asɛm a meka no mommua mfa.
16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
Sɛ yɛnom kuruwa a wɔahyira so no ano a, na ɛnyɛ Kristo mogya ayɔnkofa no anaa? Burodo a yɛbubu mu no nso, sɛ yɛdi a, na ɛnyɛ Kristo onipadua ayɔnkoyɛ anaa?
17 For we, though many, are one loaf, one body; for we all partake of that one loaf.
Esiane sɛ burodo no yɛ baako na yɛdi no wɔ ɔhonam korɔ mu enti, ɛwom sɛ yɛ dɔɔso deɛ, nanso yɛn nyinaa yɛ nnipa baako.
18 Behold Israel after the flesh. Are not they who eat of the sacrifices partakers with the altar?
Monhwɛ Israelman. Wɔn a wɔdi afɔdeɛ aduane no ne afɔrebukyia no wɔ ayɔnkoyɛ.
19 What do I say then? that an idol is any thing, or that which is sacrificed to an idol is any thing?
Mebisa sɛ, afɔrebɔdeɛ a wɔde ama ohoni no yɛ biribi anaa ohoni no na ɔyɛ biribi?
20 But that what the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to daemons, and not to God: and I would not have you in communion with daemons.
Dabi, asɛm a mereka ne sɛ, deɛ wɔde abɔ afɔdeɛ wɔ ɔbosonsomni afɔrebukyia so no, wɔde ama ahonhommɔne na ɛnyɛ Onyankopɔn. Mempɛ sɛ mode mo ho bɛhyɛnehyɛne ahonhommɔne.
21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of daemons: ye cannot be partakers of the table of the Lord, and the table of daemons.
Morentumi nnom Awurade kuruwa ano na monsane nnom ahonhommɔne kuruwa ano. Saa ara na morentumi nnidi wɔ Awurade ɛpono so na monsane nnidi wɔ ahonhommɔne ɛpono nso so.
22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
Anaa mopɛ sɛ yɛma Awurade twe ninkunu? Yɛgye di sɛ yɛyɛ den sene no anaa?
23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not profitable; all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
Wɔka sɛ, “Woama yɛn ho ɛkwan sɛ yɛnyɛ biribiara a yɛyɛ.” Nanso, ɛnyɛ biribiara na ɛyɛ. “Wɔama yɛn ho ɛkwan sɛ yɛnyɛ biribiara.” Nanso, ɛnyɛ biribiara na ɛtumi boa yɛn.
24 Let no man seek his own gratification, but every one another’s good.
Ɛnsɛ sɛ obiara pɛ ne nko ne yiedie na mmom, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔhwehwɛ afoforɔ nso yiedie.
25 Every thing which is sold in the shambles eat, asking no question for conscience sake;
Adwenemdahɔ enti motumi tɔ biribiara a wɔtɔn wɔ dwa so di a mommisa ho asɛm biara.
26 “for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.”
Ɛfiri sɛ, Atwerɛsɛm no ka sɛ, “Asase ne deɛ ɛwɔ so nyinaa yɛ Awurade dea.”
27 And if any one of those, who do not believe, invite you, and ye incline to go, eat every thing set before you, asking no question for conscience sake.
Obi a ɔnyɛ ogyidini frɛ wo adidi na woyɛ wʼadwene sɛ wobɛkɔ a, adwenemdahɔ enti, aduane a ɔde bɛma wo biara, di a wommisa ho asɛm biara.
28 But if any person say unto you, This is an idol’s sacrifice, eat not of it, for his sake who pointed it out, and for conscience sake. For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.
Nanso, sɛ obi ka kyerɛ wo sɛ, “Wɔde saa aduane yi maa ahoni” a, ɛsiane deɛ ɔbɔɔ wo saa amaneɛ no adwenemdahɔ enti, nni saa aduane no.
29 Conscience indeed I say, not merely thine own, but that of the other person.
Ɛno nyɛ wʼadwene, na ɛyɛ onipa a ɔbɔɔ wo saa amaneɛ no adwene. Obi bɛbisa sɛ, “Adɛn enti na obi adwene si mʼahofadie ho ɛkwan?
30 For why is my liberty abridged by another’s conscience? If I truly with thanksgiving am a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
Sɛ meda Awurade ase wɔ mʼaduane ho a, adɛn enti na aduane a mada ho ase no obi ka ho asɛm?”
31 Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all things to the glory of God.
Biribiara a mobɛyɛ no, sɛ moredidi o, sɛ morenom o, monyɛ mfa nhyɛ Onyankopɔn animuonyam.
32 Give no occasion of stumbling either to the Jews or the Gentiles, or the church of God:
Monnyɛ biribiara mfa nha Yudafoɔ anaa amanamanmufoɔ anaa Onyankopɔn asafo.
33 even as I please all men, not seeking my own advantage, but that of the many, that they may be saved.
Monyɛ sɛdeɛ meyɛ no. Mema obiara ani gye deɛ meyɛ ho a mennwene mʼankasa me yiedie ho, na mmom, medwene yɛn nyinaa yiedie ho sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a wɔbɛgye wɔn nkwa.
