< John 7 >

1 After these things, Jesus walked in Galilee, for He didn’t want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.
Zitatha izi Yesu anayendayenda mu Galileya, ndi cholinga chakuti asafike ku Yudeya chifukwa Ayuda kumeneko amadikira kuti amuphe.
2 Now the Jews’ Feast of Tabernacles was near.
Koma phwando la Ayuda lamisasa litayandikira,
3 Therefore His brothers told Him, “Leave here and go to Judea, so that Your disciples will see the works that You are doing, too.
abale a Yesu anati kwa Iye, “Inu muyenera kuchoka kuno ndi kupita ku Yudeya, kuti ophunzira anu akaone zodabwitsa zomwe mumachita.
4 Nobody does anything in secret while he seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.”
Palibe wina aliyense amene amafuna kukhala wodziwika amachita zinthu mseri. Popeza Inu mukuchita zinthu izi, mudzionetsere nokha ku dziko la pansi.”
5 For even His brothers didn’t believe in Him.
Pakuti ngakhale abale ake omwe sanamukhulupirire.
6 Then Jesus told them, “My time hasn’t yet come, but your time is always right.
Choncho Yesu anawawuza iwo kuti, “Nthawi yanga yoyenera sinafike; kwa inu nthawi ina iliyonse ndi yoyenera.
7 The world can’t hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil.
Dziko lapansi silingakudeni inu, koma limandida Ine chifukwa Ine ndimachitira umboni kuti zomwe limachita ndi zoyipa.
8 Go up to this feast yourselves. I’m not going up to this feast, yet, for my time hasn’t yet fully come.”
Inu pitani kuphwando. Ine sindipita tsopano kuphwando ili chifukwa kwa Ine nthawi yoyenera sinafike.”
9 Having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee.
Atanena izi, Iye anakhalabe mu Galileya.
10 When His brothers had gone up to the feast, however, Jesus also went up, not publicly, but in secret.
Komabe, abale ake atanyamuka kupita kuphwando, Iye anapitanso, osati moonekera, koma mseri.
11 The Jews were looking for Him at the feast, and saying, “Where is He?”
Tsopano kuphwandoko Ayuda anakamufunafuna ndi kumafunsana kuti, “Kodi munthu ameneyu ali kuti?”
12 There was much complaining among the people about Him. Some said, “He is good,” but others said, “No, He deceives the people.”
Pakuti pa chigulu cha anthu panali kunongʼona ponseponse za Iye. Ena ankanena kuti, “Iye ndi munthu wabwino.” Ena ankayankha kuti, “Ayi, Iye amanamiza anthu.”
13 No one spoke openly of Him for fear of the Jews.
Koma panalibe amene ankanena kalikonse poyera za Iye chifukwa choopa Ayuda.
14 About the middle of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and began to teach.
Phwando lili pakatikati, Yesu anapita ku bwalo la Nyumba ya Mulungu ndi kuyamba kuphunzitsa.
15 The Jews marveled, saying, “How does this man know letters, having never been educated?”
Ayuda anadabwa ndipo anafunsa kuti, “Kodi munthu uyu nzeru izi anazitenga kuti popanda kuphunzira?”
16 Jesus answered, “My teaching isn’t mine, but His who sent me.
Yesu anayankha kuti, “Chiphunzitso changa si cha Ine ndekha. Chimachokera kwa Iye amene anandituma.
17 Anyone who wants to do His will shall know if the teaching is from God or if I speak on my own.
Ngati munthu asankha kuchita chifuniro cha Mulungu, adzazindikira ngati chiphunzitso changa nʼchochokera kwa Mulungu kapena ngati ndi mwa Ine ndekha.
18 The one who speaks on his own seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.
Iye amene amayankhula za Iye mwini amatero kuti adzipezere ulemu, koma amene amagwira ntchito kuti amene anamutuma alandire ulemu, ameneyo ndiye munthu woona; mu mtima mwake mulibe chinyengo chilichonse.
19 Didn’t Moses give you the Law, yet none of you keeps the Law? Why are you trying to kill me?”
Kodi Mose sanakupatseni lamulo? Komatu palibe ndi mmodzi yemwe mwa inu amene akusunga lamulo. Nʼchifukwa chiyani mukufuna kundipha Ine?”
20 The people answered, “You have a demon. Who is trying to kill You?”
Gulu la anthu linayankha kuti, “Iwe ndiye wagwidwa ndi ziwanda. Ndani akufuna kukupha?”
21 Jesus answered, “I did one work, and you all marvel.
Yesu anawawuza kuti, “Ine ndinachita chodabwitsa chimodzi ndipo inu mwadabwa.
22 Moses gave you circumcision (not that it’s from Moses, but from the forefathers), and you circumcise a boy on the Sabbath.
Koma, chifukwa chakuti Mose anakulamulani kuti muzichita mdulidwe (ngakhale kuti sunachokere kwa Mose, koma kwa makolo anu), inuyo mumachita mdulidwe mwana tsiku la Sabata.
23 If a boy gets circumcised on the Sabbath, so that the Law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?
Tsopano ngati mwana angachite mdulidwe pa Sabata kuti lamulo la Mose lisaswedwe, nʼchifukwa chiyani mukundipsera mtima chifukwa chochiritsa munthu pa Sabata?
24 Don’t judge by appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
Musamaweruze potengera maonekedwe chabe, koma weruzani molungama.”
25 Some of the people of Jerusalem said, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill?
Pa nthawi imeneyi anthu ena a ku Yerusalemu anayamba kufunsana kuti, “Kodi uyu si munthu uja akufuna kumuphayu?
26 Look! He is speaking boldly, and they say nothing to Him. The rulers haven’t really concluded that this is the Christ, have they?
Uyu ali apa, kuyankhula poyera, ndipo iwo sakunena kanthu kwa Iye. Kodi olamulira atsimikizadi kuti Iye ndi Khristu?
27 Still, we know where this man is from, but when the Christ comes, no one will know where He is from.”
Koma ife tikudziwa kumene achokera munthuyu; pamene Khristu adzabwere, palibe amene adzadziwa kumene akuchokera.”
28 Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, “You know me, and you know where I’m from. I haven’t come of my own accord, but He who sent me is true, who you don’t know.
Kenaka Yesu, akuphunzitsabe mʼbwalo la Nyumba ya Mulungu anafuwula kuti, “Zoona, mukundidziwa Ine, ndipo mukudziwa kumene ndikuchokera. Ine sindili pano mwa Ine ndekha, koma Iye amene anandituma Ine ndi woona. Inu simukumudziwa,
29 I know Him, because I am from Him, and He sent me.”
koma Ine ndikumudziwa chifukwa ndichokera kwa Iyeyo ndipo ndiye amene anandituma Ine.”
30 Because of this, they were seeking to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him, because His time had not yet come.
Chifukwa cha izi iwo anayesa kumugwira Iye, koma palibe aliyense amene anayika dzanja lake pa Iye, chifukwa nthawi yake inali isanafike.
31 Many of the people believed in Him, saying, “When the Christ comes, will He do more signs than this man has done?”
Komabe, ambiri a mʼchigulucho anamukhulupirira Iye. Iwo anati, “Kodi pamene Khristu abwera, adzachita zizindikiro zodabwitsa zambiri kuposa munthu uyu?”
32 The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things about Jesus, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to seize Him.
Afarisi anamva chigulucho chikunongʼona zinthu zotere za Iye. Kenaka akulu a ansembe ndi Afarisi anatumiza asilikali a mʼNyumba ya Mulungu kuti akamumange Iye.
33 Then Jesus told them, “I will be with you a little while longer, and then I am going to Him who sent me.
Yesu anati, “Ine ndili ndi inu kwa kanthawi kochepa chabe, ndipo kenaka ndizipita kwa Iye amene anandituma Ine.
34 You will look for me, and not find me, and where I am, you can’t come.”
Inu mudzandifunafuna koma simudzandipeza; ndipo kumene Ine ndili inu simungathe kubwera.”
35 Then the Jews said among themselves, “Where does He intend to go that we won’t be able to find Him? He doesn’t intend to go to the dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks, does He?
Ayuda anati kwa wina ndi mnzake, “Kodi munthu uyu akuganizira zoti apite kuti kumene ife sitingathe kumupeza Iye? Kodi Iye adzapita kumene anthu amakhala mobalalikana pakati pa Agriki, ndi kuphunzitsa Agriki?
36 What does He mean by saying, ‘You will look for me, and not find me, and where I am, you can’t come’?”
Kodi Iye amatanthauza chiyani pamene anati, ‘Inu mudzandifunafuna koma simudzandipeza,’ ndi ‘Kumene Ine ndili, inu simungathe kubwera?’”
37 On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and declared loudly, “If anyone is thirsty, let that person come to me and drink.
Pa tsiku lomaliza ndi lalikulu kwambiri laphwando, Yesu anayimirira nafuwula nati, “Ngati munthu ali ndi ludzu, abwere kwa Ine kuti adzamwe.
38 Rivers of living water will flow from within whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said.”
Malemba kuti ‘Aliyense amene akhulupirira Ine, mitsinje yamadzi amoyo idzatuluka kuchokera mʼkati mwake.’”
39 He said this about the Spirit, who those believing in Him would receive. The Holy Spirit wasn’t yet given, because Jesus wasn’t yet glorified.
Ponena izi Iye amatanthauza Mzimu Woyera, amene adzalandire amene amakhulupirira Iye. Pa nthawiyi nʼkuti Mzimu Woyera asanaperekedwe, pakuti Yesu anali asanalemekezedwe.
40 When they heard these words, many in the crowd were saying, “This is really the prophet.”
Pakumva mawu ake, ena a anthuwo anati, “Zoonadi munthu uyu ndi mneneri.”
41 Others were saying, “This is the Christ,” but some were saying, “Surely the Christ isn’t going to come from Galilee, is He?
Ena anati, “Iye ndiye Khristu.” Komanso ena anafunsa kuti, “Kodi Khristu angachokere bwanji ku Galileya?
42 Hasn’t the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?”
Kodi Malemba samanena kuti Khristu adzachokera mʼbanja la Davide, ndi ku Betelehemu mu mzinda umene Davide anakhalamo?”
43 So there was a division among the crowd because of Jesus.
Kotero anthu anagawikana chifukwa cha Yesu.
44 Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him.
Ena anafuna kumugwira Iye, koma palibe amene anayika dzanja pa Iye.
45 When the officers went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, they asked them, “Why didn’t you bring Him in?”
Pomaliza asilikali a mʼNyumba ya Mulungu anabwerera kwa akulu a ansembe ndi Afarisi amene anawafunsa iwo kuti, “Kodi ndi chifukwa chiyani simunamugwire Iye?”
46 The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this man!”
Asilikali aja anati, “Palibe wina amene anayankhula ngati Munthu ameneyo nʼkale lonse.”
47 Then the Pharisees answered, “You haven’t been deceived, too, have you?
Afarisi anawadzudzula nati, “Kodi mukutanthauza kuti Iye anakunamizani inunso?”
48 Have any of the rulers or Pharisees believed in Him?
“Kodi alipo ena a olamulira kapena a Afarisi, anamukhulupirira Iye?
49 But this accursed crowd doesn’t know the Law.”
Ayi! Koma gulu limene silidziwa malamulo ndi lotembereredwa.”
50 Nicodemus (who came to Jesus before, being one of them) asked them,
Nekodimo, amene anapita kwa Yesu poyamba paja ndipo anali mmodzi wa iwo, anafunsa kuti,
51 “Does our Law permit us to judge a man before hearing him and finding out what he is doing?”
“Kodi lamulo lathu limatsutsa munthu popanda kumva mbali yake kuti tipeze chimene wachita?”
52 They answered him, “You aren’t from Galilee, too, are you? Search and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.”
Iwo anayankha kuti, “Kodi ndiwenso wochokera ku Galileya? Tayangʼananso, ndipo udzapeza kuti mneneri sachokera ku Galileya.”
53 Then everyone went home,
Kenaka onse anachoka, napita kwawo.
