< 2 John 1 >
1 The Elder, To the chosen lady and her children, whom I sincerely love in truth - and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth -
Kuuma kũrĩ niĩ Mũthuuri wa Kanitha, Ndaandĩka marũa maya kũrĩ mũtumia ũrĩa mũthuure, o hamwe na ciana ciake, arĩa nyendete kũna kũna, na to niĩ nyiki, no nĩ hamwe na arĩa othe mamenyete ũhoro ũrĩa wa ma:
2 because of the truth which lives in us and will be with us forever: (aiōn )
makamwenda tondũ wa ũhoro ũrĩa wa ma, ũrĩa ũtũũraga thĩinĩ witũ, o na ũgũtũũra na ithuĩ nginya tene: (aiōn )
3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and sincere love.
4 I was very glad to find some of your children walking in truth, just as we have been commanded to do by the Father.
Nĩngenete mũno nĩkuona ciana imwe ciaku igĩthiĩ na njĩra ya ũhoro ũrĩa wa ma, o ta ũrĩa Ithe witũ aatwathire.
5 Now I ask you, dear lady, not as writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we sincerely love one another.
Na rĩu, mũtumia ũyũ mwende, ti rĩathani rĩerũ ndĩrakwandĩkĩra, no nĩ rĩrĩa tũtũire narĩo kuuma o kĩambĩrĩria. Ngũũria atĩ twendanage mũndũ na ũrĩa ũngĩ.
6 This is sincere love: that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
Naguo wendani nĩ atĩrĩ: Atĩ tũthiiage na njĩra ya gwathĩkĩra maathani make. O ta ũrĩa mũiguĩte kuuma o kĩambĩrĩria, rĩathani rĩake nĩ atĩ mũthiiage mũrĩ o na wendani ũcio.
7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world - those who don’t acknowledge that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Such a one is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Aheenania, aingĩ arĩa matetĩkĩtie atĩ Jesũ Kristũ ookire arĩ na mwĩrĩ, nĩmarorũũra gũkũ thĩ. Mũndũ ta ũcio nĩ mũheenania na nĩ mũmena-Kristũ.
8 Watch yourselves, that you might not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may get a full reward.
Mwĩhũgagei nĩguo mũtigate kĩrĩa mũrutĩire wĩra, no mũtuĩke a gũkaaheo mũcaara wanyu ũrĩ wothe.
9 Anyone who doesn’t live in the teaching of Christ, but runs away from it, doesn’t have God. One who lives in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
Mũndũ o wothe ũkĩraga njano akarega kũrũmĩrĩra ũrutani wa Kristũ, ũcio ndakoragwo na Ngai; no ũrĩa ũikaraga ũrutani-inĩ ũcio, we arĩ na Ithe witũ o na Mũriũ.
10 If anyone comes to you and doesn’t bring this teaching, don’t welcome or receive that person into your house,
Mũndũ o wothe angĩũka kũrĩ inyuĩ arĩ na ũrutani ũngĩ tiga ũcio-rĩ, mũtikanamũnyiite ũgeni o na kana mũmwamũkĩre kwanyu mũciĩ.
11 for the one who welcomes such a person participates in that person’s evil deeds.
Mũndũ wothe ũngĩmwamũkĩra, nĩkũgwatanĩra magwatanĩire nake ciĩko ciake cia waganu.
12 Since I have so many things to write to you, I don’t want to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, that our joy may be made full.
13 The children of your chosen sister greet you. Amen.
Nĩmwageithio nĩ ciana cia mwarĩ wa maitũguo ũrĩa mũthuure.
