Romans 9
1 I speak the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
১আমি খ্রীষ্টে সত্যি কথা বলছি, আমি মিথ্যা কথা বলছি না, পবিত্র আত্মাতে আমার বিবেক এই সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছে যে,
2 that there is great sorrow to me and incessant grief to my heart.
২আমার হৃদয়ে আমি গভীর দুঃখ এবং অশেষ কষ্ট পাচ্ছি।
3 For I would pray, that I myself might be an offering from Christ; in behalf of my brethren, my kindred according to the flesh:
৩আমার ভাইদের জন্য, যারা আমার জাতীর লোক তাদের জন্য, যদি সম্ভব হত আমি নিজেই দেহ অনুযায়ী খ্রীষ্টের কাছ থেকে দূর হয়ে যাবার অভিশাপ গ্রহণ করতাম।
4 who are Israelites, of whom is the adoption of sons, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service, and the promises:
৪কারণ যারা ইস্রায়েলীয়। তাঁরই সন্তান হওয়ার অধিকার, মহিমা, নানারকম নিয়ম, আইনের উপহার, ঈশ্বরের আরাধনা এবং অনেক প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছেন,
5 of whom are the fathers, and of whom is Christ according to the flesh. Who is over all, God blessed forever: amen. (aiōn g165)
৫পূর্বপুরুষরা যাঁদের কাছ থেকে খ্রীষ্ট এসেছেন দেহের সম্মানে যিনি সব কিছুর উপরে, ঈশ্বর, যুগে যুগে ধন্য, আমেন। (aiōn g165)
6 But not as that the word of God has been a failure. For these are not all Israel who are of Israel;
৬কিন্তু এটা এমন নয় যে ঈশ্বরের বাক্য বিফল হয়ে পড়েছে। কারণ যারা ইস্রায়েলের বংশধর তারা সকলে যে ইস্রায়েল থেকে তা নয়।
7 neither are the children all the seed of Abraham; but in Isaac shall thy seed be called;
৭এটা ঠিক নয় সবাই অব্রাহামের বংশধর সত্যি তাঁর সন্তান কিন্তু, “ইসহাকের বংশকেই তোমার বংশ বলা হবে।”
8 that is the children of the flesh the same are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
৮এর অর্থ এই শারীরিকভাবে জন্মান সন্তান হলেই যে তারা ঈশ্বরের সন্তান, এমন নয়। কিন্তু প্রতিজ্ঞার সন্তানদের বংশধর বলে গোনা হবে।
9 For this is the word of the promise, About this time I will come, and there shall be a son to Sarah.
৯কারণ এটা প্রতিজ্ঞার কথা “এই দিন ই আমি আসব এবং সারার একটি ছেলে হবে,”।
10 Not only so; but Rebecca also having cohabitation of one, our father Isaac;
১০কিন্তু কেবল এই নয়, কিন্তু পরে রিবিকাও একজন লোক আমাদের পিতা ইসহাক দ্বারা গর্ভবতী হয়েছিলেন
11 for the children not having been born, neither having done anything good or evil, in order that the purpose of God might stand according to election not of works, but of him that calleth,
১১যখন সন্তানেরা জন্মায়নি, ভাল এবং খারাপ কোন কিছুই করে নি, তখন সুতরাং ঈশ্বরের পরিকল্পনানুসারে কাজের জন্য তাদের মনোনীত করলেন এবং কাজের জন্য নয়, যিনি ডেকেছেন তাঁর ইচ্ছার জন্যই
12 and it was said to her, The elder shall serve the younger:
১২এটা তাকে বলা হয়েছিল, “বড়জন ছোট জনের দাস হবে।”
13 as has been written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
১৩ঠিক যেমন লেখা আছে: “আমি যাকোবকে ভালবেসেছি, কিন্তু এষৌকে ঘৃণা করেছি।”
14 Then what shall we say? Is there unrighteousness with God? It could not be so.
১৪তবে আমরা কি বলব? সেখানে ঈশ্বর অধার্মিকতা করেছেন? এটা কখন না।
15 For he says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I do have mercy, and I will commiserate whom I do commiserate.
১৫কারণ তিনি মোশিকে বললেন, “আমি যাকে দয়া করি, তাকে দয়া করব এবং যার উপর করুণা করি, তার উপর করুণা করব।”
16 Then it is not of him that willeth, nor him that runneth, but of God who shows mercy.
১৬সুতরাং যে ইচ্ছা করে তার কারণে নয়, যে দৌড়ায় তার জন্য নয়, কিন্তু ঈশ্বর যিনি দয়া করেন।
17 For the scripture says to Pharaoh, For this very thing have I raised you up, that I may show forth my power in you, and that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.
১৭কারণ ঈশ্বর শাস্ত্রের মাধ্যমে ফরৌণকে বলেন, “আমি এই জন্যই তোমাকে উঠিয়েছি, যেন তোমার উপর আমার ক্ষমতা দেখাতে পারি এবং যেন সারা পৃথিবীতে আমার নাম প্রচার হয়।”
18 Then therefore he has mercy on whom he will, and whom he will he hardens.
১৮সুতরাং তিনি যাকে ইচ্ছা, তাকে দয়া করেন এবং যাকে ইচ্ছা, তাকে কঠিন করেন।
19 Then thou wilt say to me, Why does he yet find fault? For who has resisted his will?
১৯তারপর তুমি আমাকে বলবে, “তিনি আবার দোষ ধরেন কেন? কারণ তাঁর ইচ্ছার প্রতিরোধ কে করবে?”
20 O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Whether shall the thing formed say to him that formed it. Why did you make me thus?
২০হে মানুষ, বরং, তুমি কে যে ঈশ্বরের বিরুদ্ধে উত্তর দিচ্ছ? তৈরী করা জিনিস কি যিনি তৈরী করছেন তাকে কি বলতে পারে, “আমাকে কেন তুমি এই রকম করলে?”
21 Has not the potter the right of the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor?
২১কাদার ওপরে কুম্ভকারের কি এমন অধিকার নেই যে, একই মাটির তাল থেকে একটা পাত্র বিশেষভাবে ব্যবহারের জন্য এবং অন্য পাত্রটা রোজ ব্যবহারের জন্য বানাতে পারে?
22 But if God, wishing to show forth his indignation and make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of indignation having been perfected unto destruction:
২২যদি ঈশ্বর, নিজের রাগ দেখাবার এবং নিজের ক্ষমতা জানাবার ইচ্ছা করেন, বিনাশের জন্য পরিপক্ক রাগের পাত্রগুলির ওপর ধৈর্য্য ধরে থাকেন,
23 and in order that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he before prepared unto glory?
২৩এই জন্য তিনি করে থাকেন, যেন সেই দয়ার পাত্রদের ওপরে নিজের প্রতাপ-ধন জানাতে পারেন, যা তিনি মহিমার জন্য আগে থেকে তৈরী করেছিলেন
24 whom he called, even us, not only of the Jews, but also of the Gentiles:
২৪যাদের তিনি ডেকেছিলেন, কেবল ইহূদিদের মধ্য থেকে নয়, কিন্তু আরও অযিহুদিদের মধ্য থেকেও আমাদেরকেও।
25 as he says in Hosea, I will call them my people, who are not my people; and her beloved, who is not beloved:
২৫যেমন তিনি হোশেয় গ্রন্থে বলেন: “যারা আমার লোক নয়, তাদেরকেও আমি নিজের লোক বলব এবং যে প্রিয়তমা ছিল না, তাকে প্রিয়তমা বলব।
26 and it shall come to pass, in the place in which it was said to them, You are not my people, there they shall be called the sons of the living God:
২৬এবং যে জায়গায় তাদের বলা হয়েছিল, ‘তোমরা আমার লোক নও,’ সেই জায়গায় তাদের বলা হবে ‘জীবন্ত ঈশ্বরের পুত্র’।”
27 but Isaiah cries out in behalf of Israel, Though the number of sons of Israel may be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved.
২৭যিশাইয় ইস্রায়েলের বিষয়ে খুব জোরে চিত্কার করে বলেন, “ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের সংখ্যা যদি সমুদ্রের বালির মতও হয়, এটার বাকি অংশই রক্ষা পাবে।
28 For perfecting the word and cutting it short, will the Lord do a complete work on the earth:
২৮প্রভু এই ভূমিতে নিজ বাক্য পালন করবেন, খুব তাড়াতাড়ি এবং সম্পূর্ণভাবে।”
29 and as Isaiah has before spoken; Unless the Lord of Sabaoth left to us a seed, we would have become as Sodom, and would have been made like unto Gomorrah:
২৯এবং যিশাইয় এটা আগেই বলেছিলেন, বাহিনীগণের প্রভু যদি আমাদের জন্য একটিও বংশধর না রাখতেন, তবে আমরা সদোমের মত হতাম এবং ঘমোরার মত হতাম। ইস্রায়েলের পতনের ফল কি?
30 Then what shall we say? That the Gentiles, not pursuing righteousness, received righteousness, and the righteousness which is from faith:
৩০তারপর আমরা কি বলব? অযিহূদীয়রা, যারা ধার্মিকতার অনুশীলন করত না, তারা ধার্ম্মিকতা পেয়েছে, বিশ্বাস সমন্ধ ধার্ম্মিকতা পেয়েছে;
31 but Israel, following after the law, did not attain unto the law of righteousness.
৩১কিন্তু ইস্রায়েল, ধার্মিকতার আইনের অনুশীলন করেও, সেই ব্যবস্থা পর্যন্ত পৌঁছতে পারে নি।
32 Why? Because they sought it not from faith, but as it were from works: they stumbled over the stone of stumbling,
৩২কারণ কি? কারণ বিশ্বাস দিয়ে নয়, কিন্তু কাজ দিয়ে।
33 as has been written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence: and he that believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
৩৩তারা সেই পাথরে বাধা পেয়েছিল যে পাথরে হোঁচট পায়, যেমন লেখা আছে, “দেখ, আমি সিয়োনে একটা বাধার পাথর রাখছি এবং একটি বাধার পাথর স্থাপন করেছি; যে তাঁর উপরে বিশ্বাস করে সে লজ্জিত হবে না।”
