Romans 12
1 I exhort you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, your reasonable service:
Ngakho-ke, ngiyalincenga bazalwane, ngenxa yomusa kaNkulunkulu, ukuba linikele imizimba yenu njengemihlatshelo ephilayo, engcwele lemthokozisayo uNkulunkulu, okuyikukhonza kwenu ngomoya.
2 and he not fashioned after this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (aiōn g165)
Lingavumi futhi ukulingisa umhlaba lo, kodwa liguqulwe ingqondo zenu zibe zintsha. Lapho-ke lizakwenelisa ukuhlola lokwamukela lokho okuyintando kaNkulunkulu, intando yakhe elungileyo, ethokozisayo lepheleleyo. (aiōn g165)
3 For I speak, through the grace which has been given unto me, for every one who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, as God has imparted to each one the measure of faith.
Ngoba ngomusa engiwuphiweyo ngithi kini lonke: Lingacabangi ngokuzazisa kakhulu ukwedlula okufaneleyo, kodwa lizicabangele ngokuqonda, ngokuhambelana lesilinganiso sokukholwa uNkulunkulu aliphe khona.
4 For we indeed have many members in one body, but all the members have not the same office:
Njengalokhu omunye lomunye wethu elomzimba owodwa olezitho ezinengi, njalo izitho lezi zonke kazenzi msebenzi munye,
5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and members one of another.
Ngokunjalo kuKhristu thina abanengi sibumba umzimba owodwa, njalo ilunga linye ngalinye ngelawamanye wonke.
6 But having gifts differing according to the grace given unto us, whether prophecy, it is according to the analogy of faith;
Silezipho ezehlukeneyo, kusiya ngomusa esawuphiwayo. Nxa isipho somuntu siyikuphrofitha, kasisebenzise ngokulingana lokukholwa kwakhe.
7 or ministry, it is in the ministry; or he that teacheth, in teaching;
Nxa siyikukhonza, kakhonze: nxa siyikufundisa, kafundise;
8 or he that exhorteth, in exhortation; or he that giveth, with a single eye; he that presideth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.
nxa singesokukhuthaza, kakhuthaze; nxa siyikupha, kasiphe ngothando; nxa siyibukhokheli, kabuse ngokukhuthala; nxa siyikubonakalisa umusa, kakwenze ngokuthokoza.
9 Let love be free from hypocrisy. Abhorring the evil, cleaving to the good:
Uthando kumele lube qotho. Zondani okubi libambelele kokulungileyo.
10 kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another;
Zimiseleni omunye komunye ngothando lobuzalwane. Hloniphanani okudlula ukuzihlonipha kwenu.
11 not slothful in business; boiling over in spirit; serving the Lord;
Lingaphelelwa yikutshiseka, kodwa gcinani ukutshiseka kwenu komoya, likhonza iNkosi.
12 rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing steadfastly in prayer;
Thokozani ekwethembeni, libekezele ekuhlukuluzweni, libambelele ekukhulekeni.
13 communicating to necessities of the saints; pursuing hospitality.
Bapheni abantu bakaNkulunkulu abaswelayo. Zejwayezeni ukuphana.
14 Bless them that persecute you; bless, and scold not.
Babusiseni labo abalihluphayo; busisani lingaqalekisi.
15 Rejoice with them that rejoice; weep with them that weep.
Thokozani lalabo abathokozayo, lilile lalabo abalilayo.
16 Have the same mind toward one another, not thinking high things, but condescending to the humble. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Hlalisanani ngokuzwana. Lingazigqaji, kodwa lihlanganyele labantukazana. Lingazikhukhumezi.
17 Returning to no one evil for evil; providing things beautiful in the sight of all men.
Lingaphindiseli muntu okubi ngokubi. Nanzelelani ukwenza okulungileyo phambi kwabantu bonke.
18 If possible, so far as it is within your power, living in peace with all men;
Nxa kusenzakala, kusiya mayelana lokubona kwenu, hlalani ngokuthula labantu bonke.
19 avenging not yourselves, beloved, but give place to wrath; for it has been written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.
Lingaphindiseli, bangane bami abathandekayo, kodwa litshiyele ulaka lukaNkulunkulu ithuba, ngoba kulotshiwe ukuthi: “Ukuphindisela ngokwami; ngizabuyisela,” kutsho iNkosi.
20 But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink: for doing this you will heap coals of fire upon his head.
Esikhundleni salokho: “Nxa isitha sakho silambile, siphe ukudla; nxa somile, sinikeni okunathwayo. Ngokwenza lokhu, lokhela amalahle avuthayo ekhanda laso.”
21 Be not overcome by the evil, but overcome the evil with the good.
Linganqotshwa ngokubi, kodwa nqobani ububi ngobuhle.
