Romans 11
1 Then I say, Did God cast away his people? it could not be so. For I am indeed an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
১তবে আমি বলি, ঈশ্বর কি তার নিজের লোকদের বাদ দিয়েছেন? এটা কখনও না। আমিও ত একজন ইস্রায়েলীয়, অব্রাহামের একজন বংশধর, বিন্যামীনের গোষ্ঠির লোক।
2 God did not cast away his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the scripture says in Elijah, how he makes intercession to God against Israel?
২ঈশ্বর তাঁর লোকদের বাদ দেননি যাদের তিনি আগে থেকে চিনতেন। তোমরা কি জান না, এলিয়ের বিষয়ে শাস্ত্র কি বলে, কিভাবে তিনি ইস্রায়েলের বিরুদ্ধে ঈশ্বরের কাছে এই ভাবে অনুরোধ করেন?
3 Lord, they have slain thy prophets, they have digged down thine altars: and I am left alone, and they are seeking my life.
৩“প্রভু, তারা তোমার ভাববাদীদের বধ করেছে, তারা তোমার সব যজ্ঞবেদি ভেঙে দিয়েছে এবং আমি একাই অবশিষ্ট আছি এবং আমিই একা বেঁচে আছি এবং তারা আমার প্রাণ নিতে চেষ্টা করছে।”
4 But what says the answer to him? I have left unto myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal.
৪কিন্তু ঈশ্বর তাঁকে কি উত্তর দিয়েছিলেন? তিনি বলেছিলেন “বাল দেবতার সামনে যারা হাঁটু পাতে নি, এমন সাত হাজার লোককে আমি নিজের জন্য অবশিষ্ট রেখেছি।”
5 Thus then there is even at this time a remnant left according to the election of grace:
৫সুতরাং তারপরে, এই বর্তমান কালেও অনুগ্রহের মনোনীত অনুসারে অবশিষ্ট এক অংশ রয়েছে।
6 and if by grace, it is not at all by works: since in that case grace is no more grace.
৬কিন্তু এটা যদি অনুগ্রহ দ্বারা হয়, তবে এটা কখনই কাজের দ্বারা নয়। তা নাহলে অনুগ্রহ আর অনুগ্রহই থাকত না।
7 What then? Israel did not attain that which he was seeking, but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened:
৭তবে কি? ইস্রায়েল যা খোঁজ করে, তা পায়নি, কিন্তু মনোনীতরা তা পেয়েছে এবং বাকিরা কঠিন হয়েছে।
8 as has been written, God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this day.
৮এটা ঠিক যেমন লেখা আছে, আজ অবধি “ঈশ্বর তাদের জড়তার আত্মা দিয়েছেন, এমন চোখ যা দিয়ে তারা দেখতে পাবে না এবং এমন কান যা দিয়ে তারা শুনতে পাবে না, ।”
9 And David says, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompense unto them:
৯এবং দায়ূদ বলেন, “তাদের টেবিল একটা জাল, একটা ফাঁদ হোক, বাধারূপ এবং তাদের প্রতিফলরূপ হোক।
10 and let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always.
১০তাদের চোখ অন্ধকারময় হোক যেন তারা দেখতে না পায়; তাদের পিঠ সবদিন বাঁকিয়ে রাখ।”
11 Then I say; Whether did they stumble that they may fall? it could not be so: but by their fall, salvation came to the Gentiles, in order to provoke them to jealousy.
১১তারপরে আমি জিজ্ঞাসা করলাম, ইহূদিরা কি বিনাশের জন্য হোঁচট পেয়েছে? এটা কখনও নয়। বরং তাদের পতনে অইহূদিদের কাছে মুক্তি উপস্থিত, যেন তাদের ভেতরে হিংসা জন্মে।
12 But if the fall of them was the riches of the world, and the depletion of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
১২এখন তাদের পতনে যদি জগতের ধনাগম হয় এবং তাদের ক্ষতিতে যখন অযিহূদীয়দের ধনাগম হয়, তাদের পূর্ণতায় আর কত বেশি না হবে?
13 But I speak to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of the Gentiles, I glorify my ministry:
১৩এবং এখন অযিহূদীয়রা, আমি তোমাদের বলছি। যতক্ষণ আমি অযিহূদীয়দের জন্য প্রেরিত আছি, আমি আমার সেবা কাজের জন্য গৌরব বোধ করছি:
14 if perchance I may provoke my flesh, and save some of them.
১৪সম্ভবত যারা আমার নিজের দেহের তাদের আমি হিংসায় উত্তেজিত করব এবং তাদের মধ্যে কিছু লোককে রক্ষা করব।
15 For if the casting away of them was the reconciling of the world, what will their reception be, but life from the dead?
১৫কারণ তাদের বাদ দেওয়ায় যখন জগতের মিলন হল, তখন তাদের গ্রহণ করে মৃতদের মধ্য থেকে জীবনলাভ ছাড়া আর কি হবে?
16 But if the first fruit was holy, the lump is also: if the root was holy, the branches are also.
১৬প্রথম উত্সর্গীকৃত ফলটা যদি পবিত্র হয়, তবে ময়দার পিন্ডও পবিত্র। শিকড় যদি পবিত্র হয়, তবে শাখাগুলিও পবিত্র।
17 And if certain ones of the branches were broken off, and you being a wild olive-tree are grafted in among them, and have become a partaker of the root of the fatness of the olive-tree;
১৭কিন্তু যদি কিছু শাখা ভেঙে ফেলা হয় এবং তুমি, বন্য জিত গাছের শাখা হলেও যদি তাদের মধ্যে তোমাকে কলমরূপে লাগান গেল, আর তুমি জিত গাছের প্রধান শিকড়ের সহভাগী হলে,
18 boast not against the branches: but if you boast, you are not bearing the root, but the root you.
১৮তবে সেই শাখাগুলির জন্য তুমি গর্ব কর না। কিন্তু যদি তুমি গর্ব কর, তুমি শিকড়কে সাহায্য করছ না, কিন্তু শিকড়ই তোমাকে সাহায্য করছে।
19 Then you will say, The branches were broken off, that I may be grafted in.
১৯তারপর তুমি বলবে, “আমাকে কলমরূপে লাগাবার জন্যই কতগুলি শাখা ভেঙে ফেলা হয়েছে।”
20 Beautifully; they were broken off by unbelief, but you stand by faith, Think not high things, but fear.
২০সত্য কথা! কারণ অবিশ্বাস করার জন্যই উহাদের ভেঙে ফেলা হয়েছে, কিন্তু তুমি তোমার বিশ্বাসের জন্যই দাঁড়িয়ে আছ। নিজেকে খুব বড় ভেবো না, কিন্তু ভয় কর।
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, neither will he spare you.
২১কারণ ঈশ্বর যখন সেই আসল ডালগুলিকে রেহাই দেননি, তখন তোমারও রেহাই দেবেন না।
22 Then behold the goodness and severity of God: upon those who fell indeed, severity; but upon you the goodness of God, if you may abide in his goodness: since you too may be cut off.
২২তারপর, দেখ, ঈশ্বরের দয়াভাব এবং কঠোর ভাব। একদিকে যারা পড়ে গেল সেই ইহূদিদের উপর কঠোর ভাব আসল, কিন্তু অন্য দিকে তোমার উপর ঈশ্বরের দয়াভাব আসল, যদি তোমরা সেই দয়াভাবের মধ্যে থাক। নতুবা তুমিও বিচ্ছিন্ন হবে।
23 But these also, if they may not abide in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
২৩এবং আরও, যদি তারা নিজেদের অবিশ্বাসে না থাকে, তবে তাদের ফিরিয়ে গাছের সঙ্গে লাগান যাবে। কারণ ঈশ্বর আবার তাদেরকে আবার লাগাতে রাজি আছেন।
24 For if you, having been cut off the olive tree which is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into the good olive tree: how much more shall these, who are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
২৪কারণ যে জিত গাছটি স্বাভাবিক ভাবে বন্য তা থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে এবং যদি তুমি কেটে নিয়ে যখন স্বভাবের বিপরীতে ভালো জিত গাছে লাগান গেছে, এই ইহূদিরা কত বেশি, আসল ডালগুলি কারা, যারা নিজেদের নিজের জিত গাছে কলম করে ফিরে লাগান যাবে।
25 I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, as to this mystery, in order that you may not he wise with yourselves, that blindness in part has happened unto Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles may come in;
২৫কারণ ভাইয়েরা, আমি চাই না তোমরা যেন এমন না হও, এই লুকানো মতবাদ, যেন নিজেদের চিন্তায় বুদ্ধিমান না হও: কিছু পরিমাণে ইস্রায়েলের কঠিনতা ঘটেছে, যে পর্যন্ত অযিহূদীয়দের পূর্ণ সংখ্যা না আসে।
26 and so all Israel shall be saved: as has been written, A leader shall come out of Zion, shall turn ungodliness from Jacob.
২৬এই ভাবে সমস্ত ইস্রায়েল রক্ষা পাবে, যেমন এটা লেখা আছে: “সিয়োন থেকে উদ্ধারকর্তা আসবেন; তিনি যাকোব থেকে ভক্তি নেই এমন ভাব দূর করবেন।
27 And this is the covenant with me unto them, that I may take away their sins.
২৭এবং এটাই তাদের জন্য আমার নতুন নিয়ম, যখন আমি তাদের সব পাপ দূর করব।”
28 They are enemies indeed, as touching the gospel, for your sakes: but beloved with reference to election for the sake of the fathers:
২৮এক দিক দিয়ে ওরা সুসমাচারের সম্বন্ধে তোমাদের জন্য শত্রু, কিন্তু অন্য দিক দিয়ে ঈশ্বরের মনোনীত বিষয়ে পিতৃপুরুষদের জন্য প্রিয়পাত্র।
29 for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
২৯কারণ ঈশ্বরের অনুগ্রহ দান ও ঈশ্বরের ডাক অপরিবর্তনীয়।
30 For as you at one time were disobedient to God, but now you have received mercy through their disobedience,
৩০কারণ তোমরা যেমন আগে ঈশ্বরের অবাধ্য ছিলে, কিন্তু এখন দয়া পেয়েছ ইহূদিদের অবাধ্যতার জন্য,
31 even also these were now disobedient, in order that through the mercy shown to you they themselves may now also obtain mercy.
৩১তেমনি এখন ইহূদিরা অবাধ্য হয়েছে, যেন তোমাদের দয়া গ্রহণে তারাও এখন দয়া পায়।
৩২কারণ ঈশ্বর সবাইকেই অবাধ্যতার কাছে বেঁধে রেখেছেন, যেন তিনি সবাইকে দয়া করতে পারেন। (eleēsē g1653)
33 O the depth of the riches of the wisdom of the knowledge of God! His judgments are unsearchable, and his ways past tracing out.
৩৩আহা! ঈশ্বরের ধন ও জ্ঞান এবং বুদ্ধি কেমন গভীর! তাঁর বিচার সকল বোঝা যায় না! তাঁর পথ সকল কেমন আবিষ্কারক!
34 For who has known the mind of the Lord? who became his counsellor?
৩৪“কারণ কে প্রভুর মনকে জেনেছে? অথবা তাঁর মন্ত্রীই বা কে হয়েছে?
35 or who has given unto him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
৩৫অথবা কে প্রথমে ঈশ্বরকে কিছু দান করেছে, এজন্য তার পাওনা দিতে হবে?”
