Aionian Verses
but I say unto you that every one being angry with his brother, shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever may say to his brother, Thou scoundrel, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever may say, Thou fool, shall be liable unto a hell of fire. (Geenna )
εγω δε λεγω υμιν οτι πας ο οργιζομενος τω αδελφω αυτου ενοχος εσται τη κρισει ος δ αν ειπη τω αδελφω αυτου ρακα ενοχος εσται τω συνεδριω ος δ αν ειπη μωρε ενοχος εσται εις την γεενναν του πυρος (Geenna )
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable to thee that one of thy members may perish, and not that thy whole body may go away into hell. (Geenna )
ει δε ο οφθαλμος σου ο δεξιος σκανδαλιζει σε εξελε αυτον και βαλε απο σου συμφερει γαρ σοι ινα αποληται εν των μελων σου και μη ολον το σωμα σου βληθη εις γεενναν (Geenna )

Be not afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but fear ye, rather him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Geenna )

And thou, Capernaum, art thou not exalted up to heaven? thou shall be cast down to Hades: because if the mighty works which were wrought in thee had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. (Hadēs )
και συ καφαρναουμ μη εως ουρανου υψωθηση εως αδου καταβηση οτι ει εν σοδομοις εγενηθησαν αι δυναμεις αι γενομεναι εν σοι εμεινεν αν μεχρι της σημερον (Hadēs )
And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven unto him: but whosoever may speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven unto him, either in this age, or that which is to come. (aiōn )
και ος εαν ειπη λογον κατα του υιου του ανθρωπου αφεθησεται αυτω ος δ αν ειπη κατα του πνευματος του αγιου ουκ αφεθησεται αυτω ουτε εν τουτω τω αιωνι ουτε εν τω μελλοντι (aiōn )
But the one sown among the thorns, is he who heareth the word; and the care of this age, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke out the word, and he becomes unfruitful. (aiōn )
ο δε εις τας ακανθας σπαρεις ουτος εστιν ο τον λογον ακουων και η μεριμνα του αιωνος και η απατη του πλουτου συμπνιγει τον λογον και ακαρπος γινεται (aiōn )
and the enemy sowing them is the devil: and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are the angels. (aiōn )
ο δε εχθρος ο σπειρας αυτα εστιν ο διαβολος ο δε θερισμος συντελεια αιωνος εστιν οι δε θερισται αγγελοι εισιν (aiōn )
Then as the tares are gathered and burnt up with fire; so it will be in the end of the age. (aiōn )
ωσπερ ουν συλλεγεται τα ζιζανια και πυρι {VAR1: κατακαιεται } {VAR2: (κατακαιεται) } ουτως εσται εν τη συντελεια του αιωνος (aiōn )
So it will be in the end of the age: the angels will go forth, and will separate the wicked from the midst of the righteous, (aiōn )
ουτως εσται εν τη συντελεια του αιωνος εξελευσονται οι αγγελοι και αφοριουσιν τους πονηρους εκ μεσου των δικαιων (aiōn )
And I say to thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock will I build my Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. (Hadēs )
καγω δε σοι λεγω οτι συ ει πετρος και επι ταυτη τη πετρα οικοδομησω μου την εκκλησιαν και πυλαι αδου ου κατισχυσουσιν αυτης (Hadēs )
If thy hand or thy foot offends thee, cut them off and cast them from thee: it is good for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into eternal fire. (aiōnios )
ει δε η χειρ σου η ο πους σου σκανδαλιζει σε εκκοψον αυτον και βαλε απο σου καλον σοι εστιν εισελθειν εις την ζωην κυλλον η χωλον η δυο χειρας η δυο ποδας εχοντα βληθηναι εις το πυρ το αιωνιον (aiōnios )
And if thine eye offend thee, cast it from thee: it is good for thee having one eye entering into life, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of the fire. (Geenna )
και ει ο οφθαλμος σου σκανδαλιζει σε εξελε αυτον και βαλε απο σου καλον σοι εστιν μονοφθαλμον εις την ζωην εισελθειν η δυο οφθαλμους εχοντα βληθηναι εις την γεενναν του πυρος (Geenna )
Behold, one coming to Him said, Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do, in order that I may have eternal life? (aiōnios )
και ιδου εις προσελθων αυτω ειπεν διδασκαλε τι αγαθον ποιησω ινα σχω ζωην αιωνιον (aiōnios )
And every one who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, on account of my name, shall receive a hundred-fold, and inherit eternal life. (aiōnios )
και πας οστις αφηκεν οικιας η αδελφους η αδελφας η πατερα η μητερα η τεκνα η αγρους ενεκεν του {VAR1: εμου ονοματος πολλαπλασιονα } {VAR2: ονοματος μου εκατονταπλασιονα } λημψεται και ζωην αιωνιον κληρονομησει (aiōnios )
And seeing one fig-tree near the road, He went to it, and found nothing on it, except leaves only. And He says to it, Let no fruit ever be from thee; and immediately the fig-tree withered away. (aiōn )
και ιδων συκην μιαν επι της οδου ηλθεν επ αυτην και ουδεν ευρεν εν αυτη ει μη φυλλα μονον και λεγει αυτη {VAR1: ου } μηκετι εκ σου καρπος γενηται εις τον αιωνα και εξηρανθη παραχρημα η συκη (aiōn )
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you compass the sea and the dry land to make one proselyte, and when it may be done, you make him twofold more the son of hell than yourselves. (Geenna )
ουαι υμιν γραμματεις και φαρισαιοι υποκριται οτι περιαγετε την θαλασσαν και την ξηραν ποιησαι ενα προσηλυτον και οταν γενηται ποιειτε αυτον υιον γεεννης διπλοτερον υμων (Geenna )
Ye serpents, generations of vipers, how can you escape from the judgment of hell? (Geenna )
οφεις γεννηματα εχιδνων πως φυγητε απο της κρισεως της γεεννης (Geenna )
And He sitting upon the Mount of Olives; the disciples came to Him privately, saying, Tell us, when these things shall be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming and the end of the age? (aiōn )
καθημενου δε αυτου επι του ορους των ελαιων προσηλθον αυτω οι μαθηται κατ ιδιαν λεγοντες {VAR1: ειπον } {VAR2: ειπε } ημιν ποτε ταυτα εσται και τι το σημειον της σης παρουσιας και συντελειας του αιωνος (aiōn )
Then will He also say unto those on the left, Depart from me, ye cursed, into eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels. (aiōnios )
τοτε ερει και τοις εξ ευωνυμων πορευεσθε απ εμου {VAR2: [οι] } κατηραμενοι εις το πυρ το αιωνιον το ητοιμασμενον τω διαβολω και τοις αγγελοις αυτου (aiōnios )
And these shall go away into eternal punishment: and the righteous into eternal life. (aiōnios )
και απελευσονται ουτοι εις κολασιν αιωνιον οι δε δικαιοι εις ζωην αιωνιον (aiōnios )
teaching them to observe all things which I commanded you. And lo, I am with you all the days, unto the end of the age. (aiōn )
διδασκοντες αυτους τηρειν παντα οσα ενετειλαμην υμιν και ιδου εγω μεθ υμων ειμι πασας τας ημερας εως της συντελειας του αιωνος (aiōn )
but whosoever may blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is subject of eternal condemnation. (aiōn , aiōnios )
ος δ αν βλασφημηση εις το πνευμα το αγιον ουκ εχει αφεσιν εις τον αιωνα αλλα ενοχος εστιν αιωνιου αμαρτηματος (aiōn , aiōnios )
and the cares of the age, and the deceitfulness of riches, and desires concerning other things coming into them, choke out the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn )
και αι μεριμναι του αιωνος και η απατη του πλουτου και αι περι τα λοιπα επιθυμιαι εισπορευομεναι συμπνιγουσιν τον λογον και ακαρπος γινεται (aiōn )
And if thy hand may offend thee, cut it off: it is good for thee to go into life maimed, rather than having two hands to go away into hell, into the fire that can not be quenched. (Geenna )
και εαν {VAR1: σκανδαλιση } {VAR2: σκανδαλιζη } σε η χειρ σου αποκοψον αυτην καλον εστιν σε κυλλον εισελθειν εις την ζωην η τας δυο χειρας εχοντα απελθειν εις την γεενναν εις το πυρ το ασβεστον (Geenna )
If thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is good for thee to go into life lame, rather than have two feet to be cast into hell. (Geenna )
και εαν ο πους σου σκανδαλιζη σε αποκοψον αυτον καλον εστιν σε εισελθειν εις την ζωην χωλον η τους δυο ποδας εχοντα βληθηναι εις την γεενναν (Geenna )
If thine eye may offend thee, cast it from thee: it is good for thee entering into the kingdom of God having one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell; (Geenna )
και εαν ο οφθαλμος σου σκανδαλιζη σε εκβαλε αυτον καλον σε εστιν μονοφθαλμον εισελθειν εις την βασιλειαν του θεου η δυο οφθαλμους εχοντα βληθηναι εις {VAR2: την } γεενναν (Geenna )
And He traveling along the road, one having run to Him and worshiping Him, asked Him, Good Teacher, what shall I do in order that I may inherit eternal life? (aiōnios )
και εκπορευομενου αυτου εις οδον προσδραμων εις και γονυπετησας αυτον επηρωτα αυτον διδασκαλε αγαθε τι ποιησω ινα ζωην αιωνιον κληρονομησω (aiōnios )
except he may receive a hundredfold now in this time, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the coming age eternal life. (aiōn , aiōnios )
εαν μη λαβη εκατονταπλασιονα νυν εν τω καιρω τουτω οικιας και αδελφους και αδελφας και μητερας και τεκνα και αγρους μετα διωγμων και εν τω αιωνι τω ερχομενω ζωην αιωνιον (aiōn , aiōnios )
And responding He said to it, Let no one ever eat fruit from thee. And His disciples heard Him. (aiōn )
και αποκριθεις ειπεν αυτη μηκετι εις τον αιωνα εκ σου μηδεις καρπον φαγοι και ηκουον οι μαθηται αυτου (aiōn )
and He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His Kingdom there shall be no end. (aiōn )
και βασιλευσει επι τον οικον ιακωβ εις τους αιωνας και της βασιλειας αυτου ουκ εσται τελος (aiōn )
as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and his seed forever. (aiōn )
καθως ελαλησεν προς τους πατερας ημων τω αβρααμ και τω σπερματι αυτου εις τον αιωνα (aiōn )
As he spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets from the beginning; (aiōn )
καθως ελαλησεν δια στοματος των αγιων απ αιωνος προφητων αυτου (aiōn )
And he continued to intreat Him that He should not command them to depart into the abyss. (Abyssos )
και παρεκαλουν αυτον ινα μη επιταξη αυτοις εις την αβυσσον απελθειν (Abyssos )

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up tempting Him, saying, Teacher, having done what shall I inherit eternal life? (aiōnios )

But I will show you whom you must fear: Fear him, who after he kills has power to cast into hell. Yea, I say unto you, Fear him. (Geenna )
υποδειξω δε υμιν τινα φοβηθητε φοβηθητε τον μετα το αποκτειναι εχοντα εξουσιαν εμβαλειν εις την γεενναν ναι λεγω υμιν τουτον φοβηθητε (Geenna )
And the lord praised the steward of unrighteousness because he acted shrewdly: because the sons of this age are wiser in their generation than the sons of the light. (aiōn )
και επηνεσεν ο κυριος τον οικονομον της αδικιας οτι φρονιμως εποιησεν οτι οι υιοι του αιωνος τουτου φρονιμωτεροι υπερ τους υιους του φωτος εις την γενεαν την εαυτων εισιν (aiōn )
And I say unto you, Make unto yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness, in order that, when it may fail, they may receive you into eternal tabernacles. (aiōnios )
και εγω υμιν λεγω εαυτοις ποιησατε φιλους εκ του μαμωνα της αδικιας ινα οταν εκλιπη δεξωνται υμας εις τας αιωνιους σκηνας (aiōnios )
And in Hades lifted up his eyes, being in torment, sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. (Hadēs )
και εν τω αδη επαρας τους οφθαλμους αυτου υπαρχων εν βασανοις ορα αβρααμ απο μακροθεν και λαζαρον εν τοις κολποις αυτου (Hadēs )
And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, Good Teacher, having done what, shall I inherit eternal life? (aiōnios )
και επηρωτησεν τις αυτον αρχων λεγων διδασκαλε αγαθε τι ποιησας ζωην αιωνιον κληρονομησω (aiōnios )
who may not receive a hundredfold in this time, and in the coming age eternal life. (aiōn , aiōnios )

And responding Jesus said to them, The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, (aiōn )
και ειπεν αυτοις ο ιησους οι υιοι του αιωνος τουτου γαμουσιν και γαμισκονται (aiōn )
but those counted worthy to attain that age and the resurrection, which is from the dead, (aiōn )
οι δε καταξιωθεντες του αιωνος εκεινου τυχειν και της αναστασεως της εκ νεκρων ουτε γαμουσιν ουτε γαμιζονται (aiōn )
that every one believing in Him may have eternal life. (aiōnios )

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that every one believing on Him may not perish but have eternal life. (aiōnios )

He that believes on the Son has eternal life; but he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. (aiōnios )

but whosoever may drink of the water that I shall give to him shall never thirst; but the water which I shall give to him shall be in him a well of water springing up unto eternal life. (aiōn , aiōnios )

already. He that reapeth receiveth reward, and gathereth fruit unto eternal life; in order that both the sower and the reaper may rejoice together. (aiōnios )

Truly, truly, I say unto you, that every one hearing my word, and believing on Him that sent me hath eternal life, and doth not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. (aiōnios )

Search the Scriptures, because in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they are they which testify concerning me; (aiōnios )
εραυνατε τας γραφας οτι υμεις δοκειτε εν αυταις ζωην αιωνιον εχειν και εκειναι εισιν αι μαρτυρουσαι περι εμου (aiōnios )
Labor not for the food that perishes, but the food that abideth unto eternal life, which the Son of man gives to you: for this God the Father hath sealed. (aiōnios )

He is the bread having come down from heaven: not as the fathers ate, and died: the one eating this bread shall live forever. (aiōn )

Simon Peter responded to Him, Lord, to whom shall we go away? thou hast the words of eternal life; (aiōnios )

But the slave abides not in the house forever; the Son abides forever. (aiōn )

Truly, truly, I say unto you, if any one may keep my word, he may never see death. (aiōn )

The Jews said to Him, Now we know that thou hast a demon. Abraham and the prophets are dead; and thou sayest, If any one may keep my word, he may never taste death. (aiōn )

It was never heard of from the beginning that any one opened the eyes of a man who was born blind: (aiōn )
εκ του αιωνος ουκ ηκουσθη οτι ηνεωξεν τις οφθαλμους τυφλου γεγεννημενου (aiōn )
and I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall pluck them out of my hand. (aiōn , aiōnios )
καγω διδωμι αυτοις ζωην αιωνιον και ου μη απολωνται εις τον αιωνα και ουχ αρπασει τις αυτα εκ της χειρος μου (aiōn , aiōnios )
every one living and believing on me can never die: do you believe this? (aiōn )

The one loving his soul shall lose it; but the one that hateth his soul in this world will preserve it unto eternal life. (aiōnios )

Then the multitude responded to Him; We have heard from the law that Christ abideth forever; and how do You say, That it behooveth the Son of man to be lifted up? who is this Son of man? (aiōn )
απεκριθη ουν αυτω ο οχλος ημεις ηκουσαμεν εκ του νομου οτι ο χριστος μενει εις τον αιωνα και πως λεγεις συ οτι δει υψωθηναι τον υιον του ανθρωπου τις εστιν ουτος ο υιος του ανθρωπου (aiōn )
And I know that His commandment is eternal life. Now whatsoever thing I say, as the Father has spoken unto me, so I say. (aiōnios )
και οιδα οτι η εντολη αυτου ζωη αιωνιος εστιν α ουν εγω λαλω καθως ειρηκεν μοι ο πατηρ ουτως λαλω (aiōnios )
Peter says to Him, You may never wash my feet. Jesus responded to him, If I wash thee not, thou hast not part with me. (aiōn )
λεγει αυτω πετρος ου μη νιψης μου τους ποδας εις τον αιωνα απεκριθη ιησους αυτω εαν μη νιψω σε ουκ εχεις μερος μετ εμου (aiōn )
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may be with you always, (aiōn )
καγω ερωτησω τον πατερα και αλλον παρακλητον δωσει υμιν ινα {VAR1: η μεθ υμων εις τον αιωνα } {VAR2: μεθ υμων εις τον αιωνα η } (aiōn )
as thou didst give Him authority over all flesh, in order that whatsoever thou hast given unto Him, He may give unto them eternal life. (aiōnios )

But this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou didst send. (aiōnios )
αυτη δε εστιν η αιωνιος ζωη ινα γινωσκωσιν σε τον μονον αληθινον θεον και ον απεστειλας ιησουν χριστον (aiōnios )
because thou wilt not leave my soul in Hades, nor suffer thy Holy One to see corruption. (Hadēs )
οτι ουκ εγκαταλειψεις την ψυχην μου εις αδην ουδε δωσεις τον οσιον σου ιδειν διαφθοραν (Hadēs )
foreseeing he spoke concerning the resurrection of Christ, that He was not left in Hades, neither did His flesh see corruption. (Hadēs )
προιδων ελαλησεν περι της αναστασεως του χριστου οτι ουτε εγκατελειφθη εις αδην ουτε η σαρξ αυτου ειδεν διαφθοραν (Hadēs )
whom it behooves heaven indeed to receive until the times of the restitution of all things which God spoke through the mouth of all his prophets from the beginning. (aiōn )
ον δει ουρανον μεν δεξασθαι αχρι χρονων αποκαταστασεως παντων ων ελαλησεν ο θεος δια στοματος των αγιων απ αιωνος αυτου προφητων (aiōn )
And Paul and Barnabas speaking boldly, said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you: since you have rejected it, and judge yourselves not worthy of eternal life, behold we now turn to the Gentiles. (aiōnios )

And the Gentiles hearing, rejoiced, and glorified the word of the Lord: and so many as had been ordained unto eternal life believed: (aiōnios )

known from the beginning. (aiōn )
γνωστα απ αιωνος (aiōn )
for the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are seen, being known by the things which are made, even His eternal power and divinity; so that they are without excuse: (aïdios )
τα γαρ αορατα αυτου απο κτισεως κοσμου τοις ποιημασιν νοουμενα καθοραται η τε αιδιος αυτου δυναμις και θειοτης εις το ειναι αυτους αναπολογητους (aïdios )
who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for evermore: amen. (aiōn )
οιτινες μετηλλαξαν την αληθειαν του θεου εν τω ψευδει και εσεβασθησαν και ελατρευσαν τη κτισει παρα τον κτισαντα ος εστιν ευλογητος εις τους αιωνας αμην (aiōn )
to those indeed who with patience of good work are seeking glory and honor and immortality, eternal life: (aiōnios )
τοις μεν καθ υπομονην εργου αγαθου δοξαν και τιμην και αφθαρσιαν ζητουσιν ζωην αιωνιον (aiōnios )
in order that as sin reigned through death, so may grace reign also through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (aiōnios )
ινα ωσπερ εβασιλευσεν η αμαρτια εν τω θανατω ουτως και η χαρις βασιλευση δια δικαιοσυνης εις ζωην αιωνιον δια ιησου χριστου του κυριου ημων (aiōnios )
But now having been made free from sin, and having become servants unto God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end eternal life. (aiōnios )
νυνι δε ελευθερωθεντες απο της αμαρτιας δουλωθεντες δε τω θεω εχετε τον καρπον υμων εις αγιασμον το δε τελος ζωην αιωνιον (aiōnios )
For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, (aiōnios )
τα γαρ οψωνια της αμαρτιας θανατος το δε χαρισμα του θεου ζωη αιωνιος εν χριστω ιησου τω κυριω ημων (aiōnios )
of whom are the fathers, and of whom is Christ according to the flesh. Who is over all, God blessed forever: amen. (aiōn )

or, Who shall descend into the abyss? that is, to bring him up from the dead. (Abyssos )

For God has shut up all in unbelief, in order that he may have mercy on all. (eleēsē )
συνεκλεισεν γαρ ο θεος τους παντας εις απειθειαν ινα τους παντας ελεηση (eleēsē )
Because of Him, and through him, and unto him, are all things: to him be glory forever: amen. (aiōn )
οτι εξ αυτου και δι αυτου και εις αυτον τα παντα αυτω η δοξα εις τους αιωνας αμην (aiōn )
and he not fashioned after this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (aiōn )
και μη συσχηματιζεσθε τω αιωνι τουτω αλλα μεταμορφουσθε τη ανακαινωσει του νοος εις το δοκιμαζειν υμας τι το θελημα του θεου το αγαθον και ευαρεστον και τελειον (aiōn )
To Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery having been hidden during the eternal times, (aiōnios )

φανερωθεντος δε νυν δια τε γραφων προφητικων κατ επιταγην του αιωνιου θεου εις υπακοην πιστεως εις παντα τα εθνη γνωρισθεντος (aiōnios )
to God who alone is wise, through Jesus Christ, to the glory unto the ages of the ages. Amen. (aiōn )
μονω σοφω θεω δια ιησου χριστου {VAR1: [ω] } {VAR2: ω } η δοξα εις τους αιωνας {VAR1: αμην } {VAR2: αμην] } (aiōn )
Where is the wise man? where is the scribe? where is the investigator of this age? has not God rendered the wisdom of the world foolishness? (aiōn )
που σοφος που γραμματευς που συζητητης του αιωνος τουτου ουχι εμωρανεν ο θεος την σοφιαν του κοσμου (aiōn )
But we speak wisdom among the perfect: not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nought: (aiōn )
σοφιαν δε λαλουμεν εν τοις τελειοις σοφιαν δε ου του αιωνος τουτου ουδε των αρχοντων του αιωνος τουτου των καταργουμενων (aiōn )
but we speak the wisdom of God having been hidden in a mystery, which God predestinated before the ages unto our glory: (aiōn )
αλλα λαλουμεν θεου σοφιαν εν μυστηριω την αποκεκρυμμενην ην προωρισεν ο θεος προ των αιωνων εις δοξαν ημων (aiōn )
which no one of the princes of this age knew; for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (aiōn )
ην ουδεις των αρχοντων του αιωνος τουτου εγνωκεν ει γαρ εγνωσαν ουκ αν τον κυριον της δοξης εσταυρωσαν (aiōn )
Let no one deceive himself. If any one seems to be wise among you in this age, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. (aiōn )
μηδεις εαυτον εξαπατατω ει τις δοκει σοφος ειναι εν υμιν εν τω αιωνι τουτω μωρος γενεσθω ινα γενηται σοφος (aiōn )
If indeed meat causes my brother to stumble, I never eat any more meat, in order that I may not lay a stumblingblock in the way of my brother. (aiōn )
διοπερ ει βρωμα σκανδαλιζει τον αδελφον μου ου μη φαγω κρεα εις τον αιωνα ινα μη τον αδελφον μου σκανδαλισω (aiōn )
But these things happened unto them as examples; and were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have descended. (aiōn )

For the light burden of our affliction, which is evanescent, is working out for us an eternal weight of glory according to hyperbole unto hyperbole; (aiōnios )
το γαρ παραυτικα ελαφρον της θλιψεως {VAR2: ημων } καθ υπερβολην εις υπερβολην αιωνιον βαρος δοξης κατεργαζεται ημιν (aiōnios )
we not looking at the things which are visible, but the things which are invisible; for the visible things are temporary, but the invisible things are eternal. (aiōnios )
μη σκοπουντων ημων τα βλεπομενα αλλα τα μη βλεπομενα τα γαρ βλεπομενα προσκαιρα τα δε μη βλεπομενα αιωνια (aiōnios )
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle may be taken down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens. (aiōnios )
οιδαμεν γαρ οτι εαν η επιγειος ημων οικια του σκηνους καταλυθη οικοδομην εκ θεου εχομεν οικιαν αχειροποιητον αιωνιον εν τοις ουρανοις (aiōnios )
He has scattered abroad, he has given to the poor; his righteousness abides forever. (aiōn )
καθως γεγραπται εσκορπισεν εδωκεν τοις πενησιν η δικαιοσυνη αυτου μενει εις τον αιωνα (aiōn )
The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the one being blessed forever, knows that I lie not. (aiōn )
ο θεος και πατηρ του κυριου ιησου οιδεν ο ων ευλογητος εις τους αιωνας οτι ου ψευδομαι (aiōn )
who gave Himself for our sins, in order that he might redeem us from the present evil age, according to the will of God even our Father: (aiōn )
του δοντος εαυτον υπερ των αμαρτιων ημων οπως εξεληται ημας εκ του αιωνος του ενεστωτος πονηρου κατα το θελημα του θεου και πατρος ημων (aiōn )
To whom be glory unto the ages of the ages. Amen. (aiōn )

because the one sowing to his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but the one sowing to the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap eternal life. (aiōnios )

in which at one time you walked about according to the age of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit which is now working in the sons of disobedience; (aiōn )
εν αις ποτε περιεπατησατε κατα τον αιωνα του κοσμου τουτου κατα τον αρχοντα της εξουσιας του αερος του πνευματος του νυν ενεργουντος εν τοις υιοις της απειθειας (aiōn )
in order that he may show in coming ages the superabounding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (aiōn )
ινα ενδειξηται εν τοις αιωσιν τοις επερχομενοις το υπερβαλλον πλουτος της χαριτος αυτου εν χρηστοτητι εφ ημας εν χριστω ιησου (aiōn )
and to shine forth what is the economy of the mystery which has been hidden from the ages in God who created all things; (aiōn )
και φωτισαι {VAR2: [παντας] } τις η οικονομια του μυστηριου του αποκεκρυμμενου απο των αιωνων εν τω θεω τω τα παντα κτισαντι (aiōn )
according to the purpose of the ages which he made in Christ Jesus our Lord. (aiōn )

to him be glory in the church indeed in Christ Jesus unto all the generations of the age of the ages: Amen. (aiōn )

because there is not to us fighting against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the heavenlies. (aiōn )

who shall suffer vengeance, eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might, (aiōnios )
οιτινες δικην τισουσιν ολεθρον αιωνιον απο προσωπου του κυριου και απο της δοξης της ισχυος αυτου (aiōnios )
and our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, the one having loved us and given eternal consolation and good hope through grace, (aiōnios )

But to the King of the ages, the incorruptible, invisible, only God, be honor and glory unto the ages of the ages. Amen. (aiōn )

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, into which you have been called, and witnessed a beautiful testimony before many witnesses. (aiōnios )
αγωνιζου τον καλον αγωνα της πιστεως επιλαβου της αιωνιου ζωης εις ην εκληθης και ωμολογησας την καλην ομολογιαν ενωπιον πολλων μαρτυρων (aiōnios )
he alone having immortality, inhabiting light unapproachable; whom no one of men has seen, or is able to see: to whom be honor and power eternal. Amen. (aiōnios )

Charge the rich in this world not to think high things, nor to hope in uncertain riches, but in God, who richly supplies us all things for our enjoyment; (aiōn )
τοις πλουσιοις εν τω νυν αιωνι παραγγελλε μη υψηλοφρονειν μηδε ηλπικεναι επι πλουτου αδηλοτητι αλλ επι θεω τω παρεχοντι ημιν παντα πλουσιως εις απολαυσιν (aiōn )
the one having saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the eternal times, (aiōnios )

On account of this I endure all things for the sake of the elect, in order that they may also have the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. (aiōnios )

in order that, being justified by his faith, we may be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (aiōnios )

of the teaching of baptisms, and of the laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (aiōnios )

and having tasted the beautiful word of God, and the dynamites of the coming age, (aiōn )
και καλον γευσαμενους θεου ρημα δυναμεις τε μελλοντος αιωνος (aiōn )
whither Jesus the forerunner has entered in our behalf, having been made a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. (aiōn )
οπου προδρομος υπερ ημων εισηλθεν ιησους κατα την ταξιν μελχισεδεκ αρχιερευς γενομενος εις τον αιωνα (aiōn )
For it is testified, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. (aiōn )
μαρτυρειται γαρ οτι συ ιερευς εις τον αιωνα κατα την ταξιν μελχισεδεκ (aiōn )
but He with an oath through the one saying to him, The Lord hath sworn, and will not regret it; thou art a priest forever; (aiōn )
ο δε μετα ορκωμοσιας δια του λεγοντος προς αυτον ωμοσεν κυριος και ου μεταμεληθησεται συ ιερευς εις τον αιωνα (aiōn )
but he, because he abides forever, has an unchangeable priesthood: (aiōn )
ο δε δια το μενειν αυτον εις τον αιωνα απαραβατον εχει την ιερωσυνην (aiōn )
For the law institutes men high priests, having infirmity; but the word of the oath, which is after the law, the Son, having been made perfect forever. (aiōn )
ο νομος γαρ ανθρωπους καθιστησιν αρχιερεις εχοντας ασθενειαν ο λογος δε της ορκωμοσιας της μετα τον νομον υιον εις τον αιωνα τετελειωμενον (aiōn )
neither through the blood of goats and bullocks, but through his own blood, came once into the holies, having found eternal redemption. (aiōnios )
ουδε δι αιματος τραγων και μοσχων δια δε του ιδιου αιματος εισηλθεν εφαπαξ εις τα αγια αιωνιαν λυτρωσιν ευραμενος (aiōnios )
how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered up himself without spot to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (aiōnios )
ποσω μαλλον το αιμα του χριστου ος δια πνευματος αιωνιου εαυτον προσηνεγκεν αμωμον τω θεω καθαριει την συνειδησιν ημων απο νεκρων εργων εις το λατρευειν θεω ζωντι (aiōnios )
And on this account he is mediator of the new covenant, since there being death, unto the redemption of the transgressions unto the first covenant, those having been called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance. (aiōnios )
και δια τουτο διαθηκης καινης μεσιτης εστιν οπως θανατου γενομενου εις απολυτρωσιν των επι τη πρωτη διαθηκη παραβασεων την επαγγελιαν λαβωσιν οι κεκλημενοι της αιωνιου κληρονομιας (aiōnios )
since it behooved him frequently to suffer from the foundation of the world: but now in the end of the ages he has been made manifest unto the removal of sin through the sacrifice of himself. (aiōn )
επει εδει αυτον πολλακις παθειν απο καταβολης κοσμου νυνι δε απαξ επι συντελεια των αιωνων εις αθετησιν {VAR1: της } {VAR2: [της] } αμαρτιας δια της θυσιας αυτου πεφανερωται (aiōn )
By faith we understand that the worlds were created by the word of God, and that which was seen was not made from things which are manifest. (aiōn )
πιστει νοουμεν κατηρτισθαι τους αιωνας ρηματι θεου εις το μη εκ φαινομενων το βλεπομενον γεγονεναι (aiōn )
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever. (aiōn )

And the God of peace, the one having raised up from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, the great shepherd of the sheep, make you perfect, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, (aiōnios )

in every good thing to do his will, doing that which is acceptable in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory unto the age of the ages. Amen. (aiōn )

The tongue, a fire, the world of iniquity: the tongue sits down in the midst of our members, and corrupting the whole body, and setting on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire from hell. (Geenna )
και η γλωσσα πυρ ο κοσμος της αδικιας η γλωσσα καθισταται εν τοις μελεσιν ημων η σπιλουσα ολον το σωμα και φλογιζουσα τον τροχον της γενεσεως και φλογιζομενη υπο της γεεννης (Geenna )
having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible, through the word of God, who lives and abides. (aiōn )
αναγεγεννημενοι ουκ εκ σπορας φθαρτης αλλα αφθαρτου δια λογου ζωντος θεου και μενοντος (aiōn )
but the word of the Lord abides forever. And this is the word which has been preached unto you. (aiōn )
το δε ρημα κυριου μενει εις τον αιωνα τουτο δε εστιν το ρημα το ευαγγελισθεν εις υμας (aiōn )
if any one speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any one ministers, as from the strength which God supplies; in order that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ; to whom there is glory and power unto the ages of the ages. Amen. (aiōn )

But the God of all grace, the one having called you into his own eternal glory in Christ, will himself make you perfect, having suffered a little while, will establish you, will strengthen you, will settle you. (aiōnios )

but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and unto the day of the age. (aiōn )

and the life was made manifest, and we have seen, and we testify, and we proclaim to you the life which is eternal, which was with the Father, and has been made manifest unto us; (aiōnios )
και η ζωη εφανερωθη και εωρακαμεν και μαρτυρουμεν και απαγγελλομεν υμιν την ζωην την αιωνιον ητις ην προς τον πατερα και εφανερωθη ημιν (aiōnios )
The world and its lust are indeed passing away; but the one doing the will of God abides forever. (aiōn )
και ο κοσμος παραγεται και η επιθυμια {VAR1: [αυτου] } {VAR2: αυτου } ο δε ποιων το θελημα του θεου μενει εις τον αιωνα (aiōn )
This is the message which he proclaimed unto you, eternal life. (aiōnios )
και αυτη εστιν η επαγγελια ην αυτος επηγγειλατο ημιν την ζωην την αιωνιον (aiōnios )
Every one hating his brother is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in himself. (aiōnios )
πας ο μισων τον αδελφον αυτου ανθρωποκτονος εστιν και οιδατε οτι πας ανθρωποκτονος ουκ εχει ζωην αιωνιον εν αυτω μενουσαν (aiōnios )
And this is the testimony, that God has given unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios )

I have written these things unto you, in order that you may know that you have eternal life; to those who believe on the name of the Son of God. (aiōnios )

But we know that the Son of God has come and has given unto us intelligence, that we know the truth. And we are in the true one, in his Son Jesus Christ; he is the true God, and eternal life. (aiōnios )

on account of the truth which abides in us, and shall be with us forever. (aiōn )

and the angels who kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, has he kept in eternal chains unto darkness unto the judgment of the great day: (aïdios )
αγγελους τε τους μη τηρησαντας την εαυτων αρχην αλλα απολιποντας το ιδιον οικητηριον εις κρισιν μεγαλης ημερας δεσμοις αιδιοις υπο ζοφον τετηρηκεν (aïdios )
as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them, in a manner like unto them committing fornication, and going after other flesh, present an example receiving the vengeance of eternal fire. (aiōnios )
ως σοδομα και γομορρα και αι περι αυτας πολεις τον ομοιον τροπον τουτοις εκπορνευσασαι και απελθουσαι οπισω σαρκος ετερας προκεινται δειγμα πυρος αιωνιου δικην υπεχουσαι (aiōnios )
wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own disgraces; wandering stars, for which the blackness of darkness has been reserved forever. (aiōn )
κυματα αγρια θαλασσης επαφριζοντα τας εαυτων αισχυνας αστερες πλανηται οις ο ζοφος του σκοτους εις αιωνα τετηρηται (aiōn )
keep yourselves in the divine love of God, receiving the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. (aiōnios )
εαυτους εν αγαπη θεου τηρησατε προσδεχομενοι το ελεος του κυριου ημων ιησου χριστου εις ζωην αιωνιον (aiōnios )
to God our only Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and power, before every age, both now, and unto all the ages. Amen. (aiōn )

and He made us a kingdom, priests unto God even his Father; to him be glory and dominion unto the ages of the ages; amen. (aiōn )

And when the living creatures shall give glory and honor and thanksgiving to the one sitting upon the throne, who lives unto the ages of the ages, (aiōn )

the twenty-four elders will fall down before the one sitting upon the throne, and will worship Him who lives unto the ages of the ages, and will cast their crowns before the throne, (aiōn )

And I heard all creation, which is in the heaven, and upon the earth, and beneath the earth, and in the sea, and all things which are in them, indeed saying, to the one sitting upon the throne, and to the Lamb, blessing, and honor, and glory, and dominion, unto the ages of the ages. (aiōn )

And I saw, and behold a livid horse: and the one sitting on him, to him the name was Death, and Hades followed along with him: and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to slay with the sword, and with famine, and with death, and with the wild beasts of the earth. (Hadēs )

And the fifth angel sounded; and I saw a star having fallen from the heaven to the earth; and the key of the pit of the abyss was given to him. (Abyssos )
και ο πεμπτος αγγελος εσαλπισεν και ειδον αστερα εκ του ουρανου πεπτωκοτα εις την γην και εδοθη αυτω η κλεις του φρεατος της αβυσσου (Abyssos )
And he opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke came out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened from the smoke of the pit. (Abyssos )
και ηνοιξεν το φρεαρ της αβυσσου και ανεβη καπνος εκ του φρεατος ως καπνος καμινου μεγαλης και εσκοτωθη ο ηλιος και ο αηρ εκ του καπνου του φρεατος (Abyssos )
and they have over them a king, the angel of the bottomless pit, to him the name is Abaddon in Hebrew, and in Greek he has the name Apollyon. (Abyssos )
εχουσιν επ αυτων βασιλεα τον αγγελον της αβυσσου ονομα αυτω εβραιστι αβαδδων και εν τη ελληνικη ονομα εχει απολλυων (Abyssos )
and he swore by him that liveth unto the ages of the ages, who created the heaven, and the things in it, and the earth, and the things in it, and the sea, and the things in it, that there shall be time no longer: (aiōn )
και ωμοσεν εν τω ζωντι εις τους αιωνας των αιωνων ος εκτισεν τον ουρανον και τα εν αυτω και την γην και τα εν αυτη {VAR1: [και } {VAR2: και } την θαλασσαν και τα εν {VAR1: αυτη] } {VAR2: αυτη } οτι χρονος ουκετι εσται (aiōn )
And when they may finish their testimony, the beast which ascends up out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, and conquer them, and slay them. (Abyssos )
και οταν τελεσωσιν την μαρτυριαν αυτων το θηριον το αναβαινον εκ της αβυσσου ποιησει μετ αυτων πολεμον και νικησει αυτους και αποκτενει αυτους (Abyssos )
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in the heaven, saying, The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord, and his Christ; and he will reign until the ages of the ages. (aiōn )

And I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven having the eternal gospel to preach to those dwelling upon the earth, and to every nation, and tribe, and tongue, and people, (aiōnios )
και ειδον αλλον αγγελον πετομενον εν μεσουρανηματι εχοντα ευαγγελιον αιωνιον ευαγγελισαι επι τους καθημενους επι της γης και επι παν εθνος και φυλην και γλωσσαν και λαον (aiōnios )
And the smoke of their torment, ascends up into ages of ages: and they have no rest day and night, who worship the beast and his image, and if any one receives the mark of his name. (aiōn )
και ο καπνος του βασανισμου αυτων εις αιωνας αιωνων αναβαινει και ουκ εχουσιν αναπαυσιν ημερας και νυκτος οι προσκυνουντες το θηριον και την εικονα αυτου και ει τις λαμβανει το χαραγμα του ονοματος αυτου (aiōn )
And one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who liveth unto the ages of the ages. (aiōn )
και εν εκ των τεσσαρων ζωων εδωκεν τοις επτα αγγελοις επτα φιαλας χρυσας γεμουσας του θυμου του θεου του ζωντος εις τους αιωνας των αιωνων (aiōn )
The beast which you saw was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the abyss, and go into perdition: and those dwelling upon the earth, whose name has not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will be astonished, seeing the beast, because he was, and is not, and will be. And a second time they said, Hallelujah! and her smoke is going up unto the ages of the ages. (aiōn )

And the beast, and the false prophet along with him, who wrought miracles in his presence, by which he deceived those having received the mark of the beast, and those worshiping his image; and the two were cast alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone. (Limnē Pyr )

And I saw an angel coming down out of the heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit, and a great chain on his hand. (Abyssos )

and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and put his seal on him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years may be fulfilled: after these it behooves him to be loosed a little season. (Abyssos )

and the devil, the one deceiving them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also, and they shall be tormented day and night unto the ages of the ages. (aiōn , Limnē Pyr )

And the sea gave up the dead who are in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them; and they were judged each according to their works. (Hadēs )

But to the cowardly, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and the murderers, and the fornicators, and the sorcerers, and the idolaters, and all liars, shall be their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Limnē Pyr )

And there shall be no more night; and they have no need of the light of a candle, nor the light of the sun; because the Lord God shines on them: and they shall reign until the ages of the ages. (aiōn )
