Matthew 27
1 And it being morning, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put Him to death.
౧తెల్లవారింది. ముఖ్య యాజకులు, ప్రజల పెద్దలందరు యేసును చంపించాలని ఆయనపై కుట్ర చేశారు.
2 And having bound Him, took Him away, and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate, the governor.
౨ఆయనను బంధించి, తీసుకెళ్ళి రోమ్ గవర్నర్ పిలాతుకు అప్పగించారు.
3 Then Judas, the one having betrayed Him, seeing that He was condemned, being seized with remorse, returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
౩అప్పుడు ఆయనను వారికి పట్టించి ఇచ్చిన యూదా, వారు ఆయనకు శిక్ష విధించడం చూసి పశ్చాత్తాపపడి, ఆ ముప్ఫై వెండి నాణాలు ప్రధాన యాజకుల, పెద్దల దగ్గరికి తీసుకొచ్చి,
4 saying, I sinned betraying the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? See thou to it.
౪“నేను నిరపరాధి రక్తాన్ని మీకు అప్పగించి పాపం చేశాను” అని చెప్పాడు. అందుకు వారు, “ఐతే మాకేంటి? దాని సంగతి నువ్వే చూసుకో” అని చెప్పారు.
5 And throwing down the money in the temple, he departed; and having gone away hung himself.
౫అప్పుడతడు ఆ వెండి నాణాలు దేవాలయంలో విసిరేసి, వెళ్ళి ఉరి వేసుకున్నాడు.
6 And the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, It is not lawful to put them in the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
౬ముఖ్య యాజకులు ఆ వెండి నాణాలు తీసుకుని “ఇది రక్తం కొన్న డబ్బు. కాబట్టి దీన్ని కానుక పెట్టెలో వేయడం ధర్మశాస్త్ర విరుద్ధం” అని చెప్పుకున్నారు.
7 And taking counsel, they purchased with them the field of the potter, for a burying place for strangers.
౭వారు ఆలోచించి ఆ సొమ్ముతో పరదేశులను పాతిపెట్టడం కోసం ఒక కుమ్మరి వాడి పొలం కున్నారు.
8 Therefore that field has been called, The field of blood, to this day.
౮ఆ పొలాన్ని నేటివరకూ “రక్త పొలం” అని పిలుస్తున్నారు.
9 Then the word having been spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, was fulfilled, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of Him that was valued, whom they of the sons of Israel did value;
౯దీనితో, “ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలు ఆయనకు కట్టిన వెల, క్రయధనం ముప్ఫై వెండి నాణాలు.
10 and they gave them for the field of the potter, as the Lord appointed me.
౧౦వారు ప్రభువు నాకు నియమించిన ప్రకారం కుమ్మరి వాడి పొలం కోసం ఇచ్చారు” అని దేవుడు యిర్మీయా ప్రవక్త ద్వారా చెప్పిన మాట నెరవేరింది.
11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked Him, saying; Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said to him, Thou sayest it.
౧౧యేసు పిలాతు ఎదుట నిలబడ్డాడు. అప్పుడు పిలాతు, “నీవు యూదుల రాజువా?” అని ఆయనను అడిగాడు. యేసు, “నీవే అంటున్నావు గదా” అన్నాడు.
12 And while He is accused by the chief priests and elders, He responded nothing.
౧౨ముఖ్య యాజకులు, పెద్దలు ఆయన మీద నేరాలు మోపుతున్నప్పుడు ఆయన వాటికి ఏమీ జవాబు చెప్పలేదు.
13 Then Pilate says to Him, Do you not hear, bow many things they witness against you?
౧౩కాబట్టి పిలాతు, “నీ మీద వీరు ఎన్ని నేరాలు మోపుతున్నారో నీవు వినడం లేదా?” అని ఆయనను అడిగాడు.
14 And He responded to him not one word, so that the governor marveled exceedingly.
౧౪అయితే ఆయన ఒక్క మాటకైనా అతనికి జవాబు చెప్పకపోవడం పిలాతుకి చాలా ఆశ్చర్యం కలిగించింది.
15 And the governor during the feast was accustomed to release to the multitude one prisoner, whom they wished.
౧౫ఆ పండగలో ప్రజలు కోరుకొనే ఒక ఖైదీని విడుదల చేయడం గవర్నరుకు వాడుక.
16 But they had at that time a noted prisoner called Barabbas.
౧౬ఆ కాలంలో బరబ్బా అనే పేరు మోసిన ఒక బందిపోటు చెరసాలలో ఉన్నాడు.
17 Then they being assembled, Pilate said to them, Whom do you wish that I may release unto you? Barabbas? or Jesus who is called Christ?
౧౭కాబట్టి ప్రజలు తన దగ్గరికి వచ్చినప్పుడు పిలాతు వారిని ఇలా అడిగాడు, “నేను మీకు ఎవరిని విడుదల చేయాలి? బరబ్బనా లేక క్రీస్తు అని పిలిచే యేసునా?”
18 For he knew that they delivered Him on account of envy.
౧౮ఎందుకంటే వారు కేవలం అసూయతోనే ఆయనను అప్పగించారని అతనికి తెలుసు.
19 And he sitting on his tribunal, his wife sent to him, saying, Let there be nothing to thee and that just man: for this day I suffered many things in a dream on account of Him.
౧౯అతడు న్యాయపీఠం మీద కూర్చున్నప్పుడు అతని భార్య, “నీవు ఆ నిర్దోషి జోలికి పోవద్దు. ఈ రోజు నేను ఆయన గురించి కలలో బహు బాధపడ్డాను” అని అతనికి కబురు పంపింది.
20 And the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
౨౦ముఖ్య యాజకులు, పెద్దలు బరబ్బనే విడిపించమనీ యేసును చంపించాలని అడగమని జనసమూహాలను రెచ్చగొట్టారు.
21 And the governor responding said to them, Which of the two do you wish that I shall release unto you? And they said Barabbas.
౨౧పిలాతు, “ఈ ఇద్దరిలో నేనెవరిని విడుదల చేయాలని మీరు కోరుతున్నారు?” అని అడగగా వారు, “బరబ్బనే” అని అరిచారు.
22 Pilate says to them, Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ? They all say to him, Let Him be crucified.
౨౨అందుకు పిలాతు, “మరి క్రీస్తు అని పిలిచే ఈ యేసును ఏమి చెయ్యమంటారు?” అన్నాడు. వారంతా, “అతణ్ణి సిలువ వేయండి” అని కేకలు వేశారు.
23 And the governor said, For what evil hath He done? And they continued to cry out more vociferously, saying, Let Him be crucified.
౨౩పిలాతు, “ఎందుకు? ఇతడు ఏం నేరం చేశాడు?” అని అడిగినప్పుడు, వారు, “సిలువ వేయండి” అని ఇంకా ఎక్కువగా కేకలు వేశారు.
24 And Pilate seeing that he profits nothing, but rather an uproar supervenes, having taken water, washed his hands in the presence of the multitude, saying, For I am free from the blood of this just one: you shall see to it.
౨౪అల్లరి ఎక్కువౌతుందే గాని తన ప్రయత్నాలేమీ ఫలించడం లేదని గ్రహించి, పిలాతు నీళ్ళు తీసుకుని ఆ జనసమూహం ఎదుట చేతులు కడుక్కుని, “ఈ నీతిపరుని రక్తం విషయంలో నేను నిరపరాధిని, దీన్ని మీరే చూసుకోవాలి” అని చెప్పాడు.
25 And all the people responding said, His blood be upon us, and upon our children.
౨౫అందుకు ప్రజలంతా, “అతడి రక్తం మా మీదా, మా పిల్లల మీదా ఉండుగాక” అన్నారు.
26 Then he released unto them Barabbas. And having scourged Jesus, delivered Him up that He should be crucified.
౨౬అప్పుడు పిలాతు వారు కోరినట్టే బరబ్బను విడుదల చేసి, యేసును కొరడాలతో కొట్టించి సిలువ వేయడానికి అప్పగించాడు.
27 Then the soldiers of the governor taking Jesus into the judgment hall, gathered to Him the whole band.
౨౭అప్పుడు సైనికులు యేసును అధికార మందిరంలోకి తీసుకుపోయి, ఆయన ముందు సైనికులందరినీ పోగుచేశారు.
28 And having divested Him, put on Him a scarlet robe:
౨౮వారు ఆయన వస్త్రాలు తీసేసి, ఆయనకు ఎర్రని అంగీ తొడిగించారు.
29 and plaiting a crown of thorns put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand; and bowing the knee to Him, continued to mock Him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
౨౯ముళ్ళతో ఒక కిరీటం అల్లి ఆయన తలమీద పెట్టారు. ఆయన కుడి చేతిలో ఒక రెల్లు కర్ర ఉంచారు. అప్పుడు ఆయన ముందు మోకరించి, “యూదుల రాజా, నీకు శుభం!” అంటూ ఎగతాళి చేశారు.
30 And spitting on Him, they took the reed and struck Him on the head repeatedly.
౩౦ఆయన మీద ఉమ్మి వేసి, ఆ రెల్లు కర్రతో ఆయన తలమీద కొట్టారు.
31 And when they mocked Him, divesting Him of the robe, they put on Him His own raiment, and led Him away to crucify Him.
౩౧అదంతా అయిన తరువాత ఆయనకు వేసిన అంగీ తీసివేసి ఆయన వస్త్రాలు ఆయనకు తొడిగించి, సిలువ వేయడానికి తీసుకు వెళ్ళారు.
32 And going out they found a Cyrenean man, Simon by name: they compelled him that he should bear His cross.
౩౨వారు బయటికి వస్తూ ఉండగా కురేనే ప్రాంతానికి చెందిన సీమోను అనే వ్యక్తి కనిపించాడు. వారు బలవంతంగా అతని చేత ఆయన సిలువను మోయించారు.
33 Having come to the place called Golgotha, which is called the place of a skull.
౩౩వారు, “కపాల స్థలం” అని అర్థమిచ్చే ‘గొల్గొతా’ అనే చోటికి వచ్చారు.
34 And they gave Him vinegar mingled with gall to drink: and tasting, He was not willing to drink it.
౩౪అక్కడ చేదు కలిపిన ద్రాక్షారసాన్ని తాగడానికి ఆయనకు అందించారు గాని ఆయన దాన్ని రుచి చూసి తాగలేక నిరాకరించాడు.
35 And crucifying Him, they divided His garments, casting the lot,
౩౫వారు ఆయనను సిలువ వేసిన తరవాత చీట్లు వేసి ఆయన బట్టలు పంచుకున్నారు.
36 and sitting down, they continued to watch Him there.
౩౬అక్కడే ఆయనకు కావలిగా కూర్చున్నారు.
37 And they placed over His head, His accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
౩౭“ఇతడు యూదుల రాజైన యేసు’’ అని ఆయన మీద మోపిన నేరం రాసి ఉన్న ప్రకటన ఒకటి ఆయన తలకు పైన ఉంచారు.
38 Then two thieves are crucified along with Him, the one on the right and one on the left.
౩౮ఆయన కుడి వైపున ఒకడు, ఎడమ వైపున ఒకడు ఇద్దరు బందిపోటు దొంగలను కూడా సిలువవేశారు.
39 And going by they continued to blaspheme Him, wagging their heads,
౩౯ఆ దారిన వెళ్ళేవారు తలలూపుతూ,
40 and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross.
౪౦“దేవాలయాన్ని పడగొట్టి మూడు రోజుల్లో కట్టేవాడా, నిన్ను నీవే రక్షించుకో. నీవు దేవుని కుమారుడివైతే సిలువ మీద నుండి దిగిరా!” అంటూ ఆయనను తిట్టారు.
41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking, with the scribes and elders, continued to say,
౪౧అలాగే ధర్మశాస్త్ర పండితులూ, పెద్దలూ, ప్రధాన యాజకులూ ఆయనను వెక్కిరిస్తూ,
42 He saved others; He is not able to save Himself: if He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on Him.
౪౨“ఇతడు ఇతరులను రక్షించాడు గానీ తనను రక్షించుకోలేడు. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు గదా, అతడిప్పుడు సిలువ మీద నుండి దిగి వస్తే అతణ్ణి నమ్ముతాం.
43 He trusted in God; let Him now deliver Him, if He wishes Him; for He said, I am the Son of God.
౪౩ఇతడు దేవునిలో విశ్వాసం ఉన్నవాడు గదా, తాను దేవుని కుమారుణ్ణి అని చెప్పాడు గదా. కాబట్టి ఆయనకిష్టమైతే దేవుడే ఇతన్ని తప్పిస్తాడు” అని హేళనగా మాట్లాడారు.
44 And the thieves being crucified along with Him were also reproaching Him in the same manner.
౪౪ఆయనతోబాటు సిలువ వేసిన దోపిడీ దొంగలు కూడా ఆయనను అలాగే నిందించారు.
45 And from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
౪౫మధ్యాహ్నం పన్నెండు గంటల నుండి మూడు గంటల వరకూ దేశమంతా చీకటి కమ్మింది.
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
౪౬సుమారు మూడు గంటలప్పుడు యేసు, “ఏలీ, ఏలీ, లామా సబక్తానీ” అని పెద్దగా కేక వేశాడు. ఆ మాటకు, “నా దేవా, నా దేవా, నా చెయ్యి ఎందుకు విడిచిపెట్టావు?” అని అర్థం.
47 And certain ones of those standing there hearing, said, He is calling Elijah.
౪౭అక్కడ నిలబడిన వారిలో కొందరు ఆ మాట విని, “అతడు ఏలీయాను పిలుస్తున్నాడు” అన్నారు.
48 And one of them running and taking a sponge, and filling it with vinegar, and extending it on a reed, gave Him drink.
౪౮వెంటనే వారిలో ఒకడు పరిగెత్తుకుంటూ వెళ్ళి, స్పాంజ్ తెచ్చి పులిసిన ద్రాక్షరసంలో ముంచి, రెల్లు కర్రకు తగిలించి ఆయనకు తాగడానికి అందించాడు.
49 And others were saying, Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah comes about to save Him.
౪౯మిగిలిన వారు, “ఉండండి, ఏలీయా వచ్చి ఇతణ్ణి రక్షిస్తాడేమో చూద్దాం” అన్నారు.
50 And Jesus again crying with a loud voice, gave up His spirit.
౫౦యేసు మళ్ళీ పెద్దగా కేక వేసి ప్రాణం విడిచాడు.
51 And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from top to bottom, and the earth did quake; and the rocks were rent;
౫౧అప్పుడు దేవాలయంలోని తెర పైనుండి కింది వరకూ రెండుగా చినిగింది. భూమి కంపించింది, బండలు బద్దలయ్యాయి.
52 and the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the sleeping saints arose;
౫౨సమాధులు తెరుచుకున్నాయి. కన్ను మూసిన అనేక మంది పరిశుద్ధుల శరీరాలు సజీవంగా లేచాయి.
53 and having come out of the tombs after His resurrection came into the holy city and appeared unto many.
౫౩వారు సమాధుల్లో నుండి బయటికి వచ్చి ఆయన పునరుత్థానం చెందిన తరువాత పవిత్ర నగరంలో ప్రవేశించి చాలామందికి కనిపించారు.
54 And the centurion and those watching Jesus with him, seeing the earthquake, and the things which took place, feared exceedingly, saying, Surely this was the Son of God.
౫౪రోమా శతాధిపతి, అతనితో యేసుకు కావలి ఉన్నవారు, భూకంపాన్ని, జరిగిన సంఘటనలను చూసి చాలా భయపడ్డారు. “ఈయన నిజంగా దేవుని కుమారుడే” అని వారు చెప్పుకున్నారు.
55 And many women were there looking on from a distance, who followed Jesus from Galilee to minister unto Him,
౫౫యేసుకు ఉపచారం చేయడానికి గలిలయ నుండి ఆయన వెంట వచ్చిన అనేకమంది స్త్రీలు అక్కడ దూరంగా నిలబడి చూస్తున్నారు.
56 among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary, the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
౫౬వారిలో మగ్దలేనే మరియ, యాకోబు, యోసేపు అనే వారి తల్లి అయిన మరియ, జెబెదయి కుమారుల తల్లి ఉన్నారు.
57 And it being evening, a rich man came from Arimathea, whose name was Joseph, who himself also was a disciple to Jesus.
౫౭ఆ సాయంకాలం అప్పటికే యేసు శిష్యుడుగా ఉండిన అరిమతయి యోసేపు అనే ఒక ధనవంతుడు వచ్చాడు.
58 He having come to Pilate, begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded that the body should be given:
౫౮అతడు పిలాతు దగ్గరికి వెళ్ళి, యేసు దేహాన్ని తనకు ఇప్పించమని విన్నవించుకున్నాడు. పిలాతు దాన్ని అతనికి అప్పగించమని ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు.
59 and Joseph having received the body, wrapped it in clean linen,
౫౯యోసేపు ఆ దేహాన్ని తీసుకుని శుభ్రమైన నారబట్టతో చుట్టాడు.
60 and placed it in a new sepulcher, which he hewed in the rock: and having rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher, departed.
౬౦తాను రాతిలో తొలిపించుకున్న తన కొత్త సమాధిలో దాన్ని పెట్టాడు. తరువాత పెద్ద రాయితో సమాధి ద్వారాన్ని మూసివేసి వెళ్ళిపోయాడు.
61 And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting in front of the tomb.
౬౧మగ్దలేనే మరియ, వేరొక మరియ అక్కడే సమాధికి ఎదురుగా కూర్చుని ఉన్నారు.
62 And on the following day, which is after the Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together to Pilate, saying,
౬౨ఆ తరువాతి రోజు, అంటే విశ్రాంతి దినానికి సిద్ధపడే రోజుకు తరువాతి రోజు ముఖ్య యాజకులు, పరిసయ్యులు పిలాతు దగ్గరికి వెళ్ళి,
63 Lord, we remember that that deceiver, while yet living, said, After three days I will rise.
౬౩“అయ్యా, ఆ మోసగాడు జీవించి ఉన్నప్పుడు ‘మూడు రోజుల తరువాత నేను సజీవంగా తిరిగి లేస్తాను’ అని చెప్పిన మాట మాకు జ్ఞాపకం ఉంది.
64 Command therefore that the tomb be made safe until the third day, lest His disciples having come, may steal Him away, and say to the people, He is risen from the dead: and the last error shall be worse than the first.
౬౪కాబట్టి మూడవ రోజు వరకూ సమాధిని భద్రం చేయమని ఆజ్ఞాపించండి. ఒకవేళ అతని శిష్యులు అతణ్ణి ఎత్తుకుపోయి ‘ఆయన మృతుల్లో నుండి సజీవంగా లేచాడు’ అని ప్రజల్లో ప్రచారం చేస్తారేమో. అదే జరిగితే మొదటి వంచన కంటే చివరి వంచన మరింత చెడ్డదౌతుంది” అన్నారు.
65 Pilate said to them, You have a watch: go, make it safe as you know.
౬౫అందుకు పిలాతు, “కావలి వారున్నారు గదా, మీరు వెళ్ళి మీ శక్తి మేర సమాధిని భద్రం చేయండి” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.
66 And having gone, they secured the tomb, sealing the stone, with the guard.
౬౬వారు వెళ్ళి రాతికి ముద్ర వేసి సమాధికి కావలి వారిని ఏర్పాటు చేశారు.
