< Matthew 15 >

1 Then the scribes and Pharisees, who are from Jerusalem, come to Jesus, saying,

2 Wherefore do thy disciples transgress the traditions of the elders? for they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.

3 And responding He said to them; Wherefore do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?

Jisua'n an kôm, “Ithomo Pathien chongpêk jômloiin nin theia chongmâk nin jûi hih?

4 For God commanded saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die with death.

Pathien'n, ‘Nu nû le na pa mirit tho roh,’ male ‘Tukhom a nû mo, a pa mo, khomâksâm chu that rang ani,’ a ti ani.

5 But you say, Whosoever may say to father or mother, It is a gift, whatsoever you may be profited by me; and he shall no longer honor his father or his mother.

Hannirese, nangnin chu tutu a nu mo, a pa mo, sanna rang imini neinun a dôna, aniatachu, ‘Mahi Pathien ta kêng ani zoi a tiin chu,’

6 You made void the commandment of God by your tradition.

a nû mo, a pa mo mirit a tho rang nâng khâi mak nin ti ngâia. Ma ang han, nin chongmâk nin jôm theina rangin Pathien chongpêk chu itên nin be ngâiloi ani.

7 Ye hypocrites, beautifully did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, saying,

Nangni asarotholngei! Isaiah'n nin chungroi alei misîr hah adik bâkna!”:

8 This people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

“Hi mingei hin an chongbâiin min mirita, aniatachu an mulungrîl chu adiktakin kei renga alazan.

9 But in vain they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.

10 And calling the multitude to Him, He said to them, Hear and understand:

11 That if which cometh into the mouth does not defile the man; but that which cometh out from the mouth, that defiles the man.

12 Then His disciples having come to Him say, Do you not know that the Pharisees hearing your word, were offended?

13 And He responding said, Every plant which my heavenly Father did not plant, shall be rooted up.

14 Let them alone: the blind are leaders of the blind: if the blind may lead the blind, both will fall into the ditch.

15 Peter responding said to Him, Explain unto us the parable.

Peter a chonga, “Ma chong omtie hih mi rilminthâr pe roh,” a tia.

16 And Jesus said, Are you indeed still without understanding?

Jisua'n an kôm, “Midangngei nêkin atûnten la vâr uol mak chei.

17 Do you know that everything entering into the mouth goes into the stomach, and is cast out into excrement?

Nin rietthei loi mo ani? I neinun khom miriem bâia lût murdi chu a phûnga a lûta, masuole chu a nômsena ajôkpai ngâi ani.

18 But those things going out from the mouth come forth from the heart; and these pollute the man.

Aniatachu neinunngei bâi renga hong suok chu mulungrîl renga hong suok ania, ma neinunngei hah kêng miriem minnim ngâi.

19 For out of the heart proceed evil reasonings, murders, fornications, adulteries, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.

A mulungrîl renga mindonna saloi ngei ahong suoka, mangei han kêng a ruoia mi thatnangei, inrênangei, hur inditnangei, inrunangei, mi huongnangei le adikloi teta midang êronangei a musuok ngâi ani.

20 These are the things which defile the man: but to eat bread with unwashed hands does not defile the man.

21 And Jesus having come out thence, departed into the regions of Tyre and Sidon.

22 And behold, a Canaanitish woman having come out from those coasts, cried unto Him saying, Have mercy on me, Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is terribly demonized.

Ha rama om Canaan nuvengte inkhat a kôm a honga, “David Nâipasal! Inrieng ni mu roh, pu! Ka nâinupang ramkhori'n a sûra, changrangintak sabakin aom ani,” tiin ânieka.

23 And He responded to her not a word; and His disciples, having come to Him, asked Him, saying, Send her away; because she cries after us.

25 And having come she continued to worship Him, saying, Lord, assist me.

26 He responding said, It is not good to take the children's bread and cast it to the little dogs.

Jisua'n, “Nâingei vâipôl lâk pea uingei kôma pêk chu dik mak,” tiin a thuona.

27 And she said, Yea, Lord: for the little dogs eat of the crumbs falling from their master's table.

Nuvengtenu han a kôm, “Pu, maha chu adik, aniatachu uingei khomin an pungei dosâng nuoia vâipôl hâr atâk chu an sâk ngâi mo ka ta,” tiin a thuona.

28 Then Jesus responding said to her, O woman, great is thy faith; let it be done unto thee as thou dost wish. And her daughter was healed from that hour.

Masikin Jisua'n a kôm, “Nuvengtenu taksônna lientak dôn ni ni! Nu nuom tak hah na ta rangin sinin om a tih,” a tipea. Male a nâinupang hah ma zoratak han a hong dam pe zoi ani.

29 And Jesus having departed thence, came to the Sea of Galilee; and having gone up into the mountain, He was sitting there.

Jisua'n ha mun renga hah a sea, Galilee dîl kôla a lôna. Tânga a kala male ân sung zoi.

30 And many multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deaf, the maimed, and many others, and laid them down at the feet of Jesus; and He healed them:

Mipui tamtak a kôm an honga, kholra, mitcho, achôp, chongtheiloi le damloi dang tamtak Jisua ke bula an hong tuonga; a lei mindam ngei leta.

31 so that the multitudes were astonished, seeing the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, the lame walking about, and the blind seeing: and they glorified the God of Israel.

Mipui ngei han chongtheiloi hong chong, ân-ûng a hong dam, kholra hong lônthei le mitcho hong muthei ngei hah an mûn chu an kamâm sabaka, hanchu Israel Pathien an minpâk zoi ani.

32 And Jesus calling His disciples to Him, said, I sympathize with the multitude, because already three days abide unto me, and they have nothing which they may eat; I do not wish to send them away fasting, lest they may faint on the road.

Hanchu Jisua'n a ruoisingei a koia, an kôm, “Mipui ngei hih sûnthum ko kôm an om zoia, atûn hin ite sâk rang an dônloi sikin ku lungkham ngei tatak. Bungêiin tîrpai ngei rang nuom mu-ung, aninôn chu lampuia châmsôl invei an tih,” a tia.

33 And His disciples say to Him, Whence is there to us so much bread in the wilderness, as to feed so great a multitude?

Ruoisingei han a kôm, “Hi dôra mipui vâi minkhopna rangin hi ramchâra hin khonmo sâknêk ei man ranga?” tiin an rekela.

34 And Jesus says to them; How much bread have ye? And they said, Seven loaves and a few fishes.

Jisua'n, “Vâipôl idôrmo nin dôn?” tiin a rekela; Anni han “Vâipôltâp sari” le “ngate atômte,” an tia.

35 He having commanded the multitudes to sit down upon the ground,

Masikin Jisua'n mipui ngei hah nuoia insung rangin chong a pêka.

36 He took the seven loaves and the fishes; having given thanks, He broke them, and gave to His disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

Male vâipôltâp sari le nga hah a lâka, Pathien kôm râisânchong rilin a khoia, ruoisingei kôm a pêka; male ruoisingei han mipui ngei kôm an pêka.

37 And they all ate, and were filled: and they took up the residue of fragments, seven baskets full.

38 And those eating were about tour thousand men, besides women and children.

39 And having sent away the multitudes, He went into a ship and came into the coasts of Magdala.
