Matthew 1
1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Yesu Kristu kaweriti mwiwuka gwa Dawudi na mwiwuka gwa Aburahamu. Ayi ndo walanga ya ukowu wakuwi,
2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judah and his brothers;
Aburahamu kamwiwuliti Isaka na Isaka kamwiwuliti Yakobu na Yakobu kamwiwuliti Yuda na walongu wakuwi,
3 And Judah begat Phares and Zara from Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
Yuda kamwiwuliti Peresi na Zera mawu gwawu kaweriti Tamari na Peresi kamwiwuliti Hesironi na Hesironi kamwiwuliti Rami,
4 and Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
Rami kamwiwuliti Aminadabu na Aminadabu kamwiwuliti Nashoni na Nashoni kamwiwuliti Salumoni
5 and Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

6 and Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her who was the wife of Uriah;
Na Yese kamwiwuliti Mfalumi Dawudi na Dawudi kamwiwuliti Selemani mawu gwakuwi kaweriti mdala gwa Uriya,
7 and Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
Selemani kamwiwuliti Rehobowamu na Rehobowamu kamwiwuliti Abiya na Abiya kamwiwuliti Asa.
8 and Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; Joram begat Hozias;
Asa kamwiwuliti Yehoshafati na Yehoshafati kamwiwuliti Uziya
9 Hozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; Achaz begat Hezekiah;
na Uziya kamwiwuliti Yosamu na Yosamu kamwiwuliti Ahazi na Ahazi kamwiwuliti Hezekiya.
10 and Hezekiah begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josiah;
Hezekiya kamwiwuliti Manasi na Manasi kamwiwuliti Amoni na Amoni kamwiwuliti Yosiya
11 and Josiah begat Jechonias and his brothers in the captivity of Babylon.
na Yosiya kamwiwuliti Yekoniya na walongu wakuwi. Ashi shiweriti shipindi Wayawudi pawawajegiti kugenda muluhamiru Babiloni.
12 And after the captivity of Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorababbel;
Pa Wayawudi kuwatola kugenda muluhamiru Babiloni na Yekoniya kamwiwuliti Sheatiyeli na Sheatiyeli kamwiwuliti Zerubabeli,
13 Zorababbel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
Zerubabeli kamwiwuliti Abiyudi na Abiyudi kamwiwuliti Eliyakimu na Eliyakimu kamwiwuliti Azori.
14 and Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Acheim; Acheim begat Eliud;
Azori kamwiwuliti Sadoki na Sadoki kamwiwuliti Akimu na Akimu kamwiwuliti Eliwudi.
15 and Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
Eliwudi kamwiwuliti Eleyazari na Eliyazari kamwiwuliti Matati na Matati kamwiwuliti Yakobu.
16 and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, from whom Jesus, who is called Christ, was born.
Yakobu kamwiwuliti Yosefu, mpalu gwa Mariya mawu gwakuwi Yesu yawamshema Kristu.
17 Therefore all the generations from Abraham unto David are fourteen generations; from David unto the captivity of Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the captivity of Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
Su kuweriti na nyiwuku lilongu na msheshi kwanjira Aburahamu mpaka Dawudi na nyiwuku lilongu na msheshi kwanjira Dawudi mpaka Wayawudi pawawalopoliti kugenda Babiloni na nyiwuku lilongu na msheshi kwanjira pawawatoliti lopola mpaka shipindi sha Kristu.
18 The birth of Jesus Christ was thus: His mother Mary, having been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, was found having gestation from the Holy Ghost.
Hangu ndo Yesu Kristu ntambu yakiwukiti, Mariya mawu gwakuwi Yesu kaweriti kahetitwi na Yosefu. Kumbiti pamberi pa kulikala pamuhera gambira mpalu na mdala, kawonikaniti kana yinda kwa uwezu wa Rohu Mnanagala.
19 And Joseph her husband, being righteous and not wishing to expose her publicly, determined to send her away secretly.
Yosefu mpalu gwakuwi kaweriti kamfiriziya Mlungu, kafiriti ndiri kumlanguziya kwa wantu kuwera kana vidoda, Hangu kafiriti kumleka kwa bada.
20 And he meditating on these things, behold an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying; Joseph, son of David, do not fear to receive Mary thy wife; for that which is begotten in her is of the Holy Spirit;
Pakaweriti kankali kankulihola hangu, ntumintumi gwa kumpindi gwa Mtuwa kamulawira mukulota na kumgambira, “Yosefu mwana gwa Dawudi, nagutira kumtola Mariya kaweri mdala gwaku. Mana kana yinda kwa uwezu wa Rohu Mnanagala.
21 she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for He will save His people from their sins.
Hakamwiwuli mwana mpalu, nagwenga hagumshemi Yesu, toziya yomberi ndo hakawalopoziyi wantu kulawa muvidoda vyawu.”
22 And all this took place in order that the Word, having been spoken by the Lord through the prophet, might be fulfilled, saying;
Vinu, vyoseri avi vilawira su viweri nakaka visoweru vyakatakuliti Mtuwa kupitira mbuyi gwa Mlungu,
23 Behold, the virgin shall have gestation and bring forth a son, and they will call his name Emmanuel, which is interpreted, God is with us.
“Mwali hakaweri na yinda, hakamwiwuli mwana mpalu na womberi hawamshemi litawu lyakuwi Imanuweri.” Mana yakuwi, “Mlungu kapamuhera na twenga”.
24 And Joseph rising from sleep did as the angel of the Lord commanded him;
Su, Yosefu pakimkiti mumpota katenditi gambira vyakamgambiriti ulii ntumintumi gwa kumpindi gwa Mtuwa, kamtola mdala gwakuwi ukaya.
25 and he took his wife to himself, and did not know her until she brought forth a son, and called his name Jesus.
Kumbiti Yosefu waliwoniti ndiri na Mariya mpaka pakamwiwuliti mwana mpalu. Yosefu kamupananiti mwana litawu Yesu.
