Mark 13
1 And He departing out from the temple, one of His disciples says to Him, Teacher, behold, how great stones and how great buildings!
Wathi esuka ethempelini omunye wabafundi wathi kuye, “Khangela, Mfundisi! Amatshe anganani! Bona ubuhle bezindlu!”
2 And Jesus responding said to him, Do you see these great buildings? stone may not be left upon stone, which may not be thrown down.
UJesu waphendula wathi, “Liyazibona yini zonke lezi izindlu ezinkulu kangaka? Kakuyikusala litshe phezu kwelinye; wonke azaphoselwa phansi.”
3 And He sitting upon the Mount of Olives in front of the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked Him privately,
Kwathi uJesu ehlezi eNtabeni yama-Oliva malungana lethempeli uPhethro, loJakhobe, loJohane lo-Andreya bambuza ngasese bathi,
4 Tell us, when these things shall be? and what shall be the sign when all these things may be about to have an end?
“Sitshele, zizakwenzakala nini izinto lezi? Njalo kuzakuba lesibonelo bani ukuthi sezizagcwaliseka?”
5 And Jesus began to say to them, See, lest any one may deceive you.
UJesu wathi kubo: “Qaphelani ukuze lingakhohliswa muntu.
6 For many will come in my name, saying, I am He; and will deceive many. I
Banengi abazakuza ngebizo lami, besithi, ‘Nginguye,’ bakhohlise abanengi.
7 And when you may hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not disturbed: for it behooves it to be so; but the end is not yet.
Nxa lisizwa ngezimpi lamahungahunga ngezimpi, lingaze lethuka. Lezozinto kumele zenzakale, kodwa ukucina kulokhu kuseza.
8 For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earth-quakes in divers places; and there shall be famines.
Isizwe sizavukela isizwe, lombuso uvukele umbuso. Kuzakuba lokuzamazama komhlaba ezindaweni ezinengi, lezindlala. Lezi ziyikuqala kokuhelelwa.
9 These are the beginnings of travails. But you take heed to yourselves: for they will deliver you into councils; and will beat you in the synagogues: and you shall stand before governors and kings on account of me, for a testimony unto them.
Libohlala liqaphele. Bazalimangalela ezinkundleni zamacala njalo balibhaxabule emasinagogweni abo. Ngenxa yami lizamiswa phambi kwababusi lamakhosi libe ngofakazi kubo.
10 And it behooves the gospel first to be preached to all the nations.
Njalo ivangeli kufanele liqale litshunyayelwe ezizweni zonke.
11 And when they may lead you forth, delivering you up, do not be solicitous what you may speak, nor meditate: but whatsoever may be given to you in that hour, speak this: for you are not those speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
Lapho libotshwa njalo lilethwa emthethwandaba lingaze lazihlupha ngokuthi lizakuthini phambi kwabo. Khulumani ingqe yini eliyiphiwa ngalesosikhathi, ngoba kakusini elikhulumayo, kodwa nguMoya oNgcwele.
12 And brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father the child; and the children will rise up against the parents, and put them to death.
Umfowabo uzanikela umfowabo ukuthi abulawe, loyise anikele umntanakhe. Abantwana bazahlamukela abazali babo bababulalise.
13 And you shall be hated by all on account of my name: but the one persevering to the end, the same shall be saved.
Bonke abantu bazalizonda ngenxa yami, kodwa lowo oma aqine kuze kube sekupheleni uzasindiswa.
14 And when you may see the abomination of desolation standing where it ought not (let him that readeth know), then let those in Judea fly to the mountains:
Kodwa nxa libona ‘amanyala aletha incithakalo’kumi lapho okungesikwakhona, ofundayo kezwisise, lapho-ke akuthi labo abaseJudiya babalekele ezintabeni.
15 and let not the one on the housetop come down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house:
Akungabikhona osephahleni lwendlu yakhe ozakwehla loba angene endlini ukuthatha ulutho.
16 and let not the one who is in the field turn back to take his garment.
Akungabi loyedwa osensimini ozabuyela emuva ukuyathatha ijazi lakhe.
17 But alas unto those who are in gestation and nursing in those days.
Yeka ubulukhuni obuzakuba khona ngalezonsuku kwabesifazane abakhulelweyo labangabadlezane!
18 But pray that your flight may not be in the winter.
Khulekani ukuthi lokhu kungenzakali ebusika,
19 For these days will be tribulation, such as has never been from the beginning of creation which God created, until now, and never may be.
ngoba lezo zizakuba yizinsuku zokuhlukuluzeka okungakaze kube khona kwasekuqaleni, lapho uNkulunkulu adala umhlaba, kuze kube manje, njalo kakuzukubuye kube khona.
20 And unless the Lord shortened those days, no flesh would be saved: but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.
Nxa iNkosi yayingaziphungulanga lezinsuku, kwakungeyi kuphepha muntu. Kodwa ngenxa yabakhethiweyo, eyabakhethayo, iziphungulile.
21 And if then one may say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, Lo, there; believe not.
Ngalesosikhathi nxa umuntu esithi kini, ‘Khangelani, nangu uKhristu!’ loba ‘Khangelani, nanguya,’ lingamkholwa.
22 For false Christs and false prophets will arise, and give signs and wonders, to deceive even the elect, if possible.
Ngoba oKhristu bamanga labaphrofethi bamanga bazavela benze izibonakaliso lezimangaliso ukukhohlisa abakhethiweyo, nxa lokho kungenzeka.
23 But you see: behold, I have foretold you all things.
Ngakho lilimuke; sengilitshelile konke ngaphambili.
24 And in those days, after that desolation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light,
Kodwa ngalezonsuku, kulandela lokho kuhlukuluzeka, ‘ilanga lizafiphala, lenyanga kayiyikukhanya;
25 and the stars of heaven will be falling, and the powers which are in the heavens shall be shaken.
izinkanyezi zizakuwa esibhakabhakeni, lezisekelo zasezulwini zizazanyazanyiswa.’
26 And then they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
Ngalesosikhathi abantu bazayibona iNdodana yoMuntu isiza emayezini ilamandla amakhulu lobukhosi.
27 And then He will send forth His angels, and will gather His elect from the four winds, from the extremity of the earth unto the extremity of heaven.
Izathuma izingilosi zayo ziqoqe abakhethiweyo bayo kumagumbi womane omhlaba, kusukela emikhawulweni yomhlaba kusiya emikhawulweni yamazulu.
28 But learn the parable from the fig-tree: when her branches may be now tender, and she may grow out leaves, know that the summer is nigh.
Manje-ke, fundani lesisifundo esihlahleni somkhiwa: Amahlumela aso angaqalisa ukuba buthakathaka lamahlamvu aso ahlume, lihle lazi ukuthi ihlobo selisondele.
29 So you also, when you may see these things take place, know that it is already at the doors.
Kanjalo-ke nxa lingabona lezizinto sezisenzakala, lazi ukuthi sekusondele, khonapho emnyango.
30 Truly I say unto you, this race may not pass away, until all these things may be fulfilled.
Ngilitshela iqiniso, lesisizukulwane kasiyikudlula zize zenzakale zonke lezizinto.
31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
Izulu lomhlaba kuzedlula, kodwa amazwi ami kawayikwedlula lanini.”
32 But concerning that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels who are in heaven, or the Son, but the Father.
“Kodwa kakho olwaziyo lolosuku lehola, loba izingilosi zasezulwini, kumbe iNdodana, kodwa uBaba kuphela.
33 Beware, watch; for you know not when the time is.
Lindani! Qaphelani! Kalikwazi ukuthi sizafika nini lesosikhathi.
34 As a man, going away, leaving his own house, and giving authority to his servants, and to each one his work, and commanded the porter that he should watch.
Kunjengomuntu ezathatha uhambo: utshiya indlu yakhe ayinikele izisebenzi zakhe ukuba ziyilinde, yileso sabelwe owaso umsebenzi, atshele lowo olinda emnyango ukuthi aqaphele.
35 Watch therefore: for you know not when the Lord of the house cometh, late, or at midnight, or at the crowing of the cock, or in the morning;
Ngakho lindani ngoba kalikwazi ukuthi umninindlu uzabuya nini, mhlawumbe kusihlwa, kumbe phakathi kwamabili, loba inkukhu sezikhala kumbe emathathakusa.
36 lest having come suddenly he may find you sleeping.
Nxa efika masinyane, akangalifici lilele.
37 And the things I say to you, I say to all, Watch.
Engikutshoyo kini ngikutsho emuntwini wonke: ‘Lindani!’”
