Mark 13
1 And He departing out from the temple, one of His disciples says to Him, Teacher, behold, how great stones and how great buildings!
Ja kun hän meni ulos pyhäköstä, sanoi eräs hänen opetuslapsistaan hänelle: "Opettaja, katso, millaiset kivet ja millaiset rakennukset!"
2 And Jesus responding said to him, Do you see these great buildings? stone may not be left upon stone, which may not be thrown down.
Jeesus vastasi hänelle: "Sinä näet nämä suuret rakennukset. Niistä ei ole jäävä kiveä kiven päälle maahan jaottamatta."
3 And He sitting upon the Mount of Olives in front of the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked Him privately,
Ja kun hän istui Öljymäellä, vastapäätä pyhäkköä, kysyivät Pietari ja Jaakob ja Johannes ja Andreas häneltä eriksensä:
4 Tell us, when these things shall be? and what shall be the sign when all these things may be about to have an end?
"Sano meille: milloin tämä tapahtuu, ja mikä on merkki siitä, että kaikki tämä alkaa lopullisesti toteutua?"
5 And Jesus began to say to them, See, lest any one may deceive you.
Niin Jeesus rupesi puhumaan heille: "Katsokaa, ettei kukaan teitä eksytä.
6 For many will come in my name, saying, I am He; and will deceive many. I
Monta tulee minun nimessäni sanoen: 'Minä se olen', ja he eksyttävät monta.
7 And when you may hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not disturbed: for it behooves it to be so; but the end is not yet.
Ja kun te kuulette sotien melskettä ja sanomia sodista, älkää peljästykö. Näin täytyy tapahtua, mutta se ei ole vielä loppu.
8 For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earth-quakes in divers places; and there shall be famines.
Sillä kansa nousee kansaa vastaan ja valtakunta valtakuntaa vastaan, tulee maanjäristyksiä monin paikoin, tulee nälänhätää. Tämä on synnytystuskien alkua.
9 These are the beginnings of travails. But you take heed to yourselves: for they will deliver you into councils; and will beat you in the synagogues: and you shall stand before governors and kings on account of me, for a testimony unto them.
Mutta pitäkää te vaari itsestänne. Teidät vedetään oikeuksiin, ja teitä piestään synagoogissa, ja teidät asetetaan maaherrain ja kuningasten eteen, minun tähteni, todistukseksi heille.
10 And it behooves the gospel first to be preached to all the nations.
Ja sitä ennen pitää evankeliumi saarnattaman kaikille kansoille.
11 And when they may lead you forth, delivering you up, do not be solicitous what you may speak, nor meditate: but whatsoever may be given to you in that hour, speak this: for you are not those speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
Ja kun he vievät teitä ja vetävät oikeuteen, älkää edeltäpäin huolehtiko siitä, mitä puhuisitte; vaan mitä teille sillä hetkellä annetaan, se puhukaa. Sillä ette te ole puhumassa, vaan Pyhä Henki.
12 And brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father the child; and the children will rise up against the parents, and put them to death.
Ja veli antaa veljensä kuolemaan ja isä lapsensa, ja lapset nousevat vanhempiansa vastaan ja tappavat heidät.
13 And you shall be hated by all on account of my name: but the one persevering to the end, the same shall be saved.
Ja te joudutte kaikkien vihattaviksi minun nimeni tähden; mutta joka vahvana pysyy loppuun asti, se pelastuu.
14 And when you may see the abomination of desolation standing where it ought not (let him that readeth know), then let those in Judea fly to the mountains:
Mutta kun näette hävityksen kauhistuksen seisovan siinä, missä ei tulisi-joka tämän lukee, se tarkatkoon-silloin ne, jotka Juudeassa ovat, paetkoot vuorille;
15 and let not the one on the housetop come down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house:
joka on katolla, älköön astuko alas älköönkä menkö sisään noutamaan mitään huoneestansa;
16 and let not the one who is in the field turn back to take his garment.
ja joka on mennyt pellolle, älköön palatko takaisin noutamaan vaippaansa.
17 But alas unto those who are in gestation and nursing in those days.
Voi raskaita ja imettäväisiä niinä päivinä!
18 But pray that your flight may not be in the winter.
Mutta rukoilkaa, ettei se tapahtuisi talvella.
19 For these days will be tribulation, such as has never been from the beginning of creation which God created, until now, and never may be.
Sillä niinä päivinä on oleva ahdistus, jonka kaltaista ei ole ollut hamasta luomakunnan alusta, jonka Jumala on luonut, tähän asti, eikä milloinkaan tule.
20 And unless the Lord shortened those days, no flesh would be saved: but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.
Ja ellei Herra lyhentäisi niitä päiviä, ei mikään liha pelastuisi; mutta valittujen tähden, jotka hän on valinnut, hän on lyhentänyt ne päivät.
21 And if then one may say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, Lo, there; believe not.
Ja jos silloin joku sanoo teille: 'Katso, täällä on Kristus', tai: 'Katso, tuolla', niin älkää uskoko.
22 For false Christs and false prophets will arise, and give signs and wonders, to deceive even the elect, if possible.
Sillä vääriä kristuksia ja vääriä profeettoja nousee, ja he tekevät tunnustekoja ja ihmeitä, eksyttääkseen, jos mahdollista, valitut.
23 But you see: behold, I have foretold you all things.
Mutta olkaa te varuillanne. Minä olen edeltä sanonut teille kaikki.
24 And in those days, after that desolation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light,
Mutta niinä päivinä, sen ahdistuksen jälkeen, aurinko pimenee, eikä kuu anna valoansa,
25 and the stars of heaven will be falling, and the powers which are in the heavens shall be shaken.
ja tähdet putoilevat taivaalta, ja voimat, jotka taivaissa ovat, järkkyvät.
26 And then they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
Ja silloin he näkevät Ihmisen Pojan tulevan pilvissä suurella voimalla ja kirkkaudella.
27 And then He will send forth His angels, and will gather His elect from the four winds, from the extremity of the earth unto the extremity of heaven.
Ja silloin hän lähettää enkelinsä ja kokoaa valittunsa neljältä ilmalta, maan äärestä hamaan taivaan ääreen.
28 But learn the parable from the fig-tree: when her branches may be now tender, and she may grow out leaves, know that the summer is nigh.
Mutta oppikaa viikunapuusta vertaus: Kun sen oksa jo on tuore ja lehdet puhkeavat, niin te tiedätte, että kesä on lähellä.
29 So you also, when you may see these things take place, know that it is already at the doors.
Samoin te myös, kun näette tämän tapahtuvan, tietäkää, että se on lähellä, oven edessä.
30 Truly I say unto you, this race may not pass away, until all these things may be fulfilled.
Totisesti minä sanon teille: tämä sukupolvi ei katoa, ennenkuin nämä kaikki tapahtuvat.
31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
Taivas ja maa katoavat, mutta minun sanani eivät katoa.
32 But concerning that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels who are in heaven, or the Son, but the Father.
Mutta siitä päivästä tai hetkestä ei tiedä kukaan, eivät enkelit taivaassa, eikä myöskään Poika, vaan ainoastaan Isä.
33 Beware, watch; for you know not when the time is.
Olkaa varuillanne, valvokaa ja rukoilkaa, sillä ette tiedä, milloin se aika tulee.
34 As a man, going away, leaving his own house, and giving authority to his servants, and to each one his work, and commanded the porter that he should watch.
On niinkuin muille maille matkustaneen miehen: kun hän jätti talonsa ja antoi palvelijoilleen vallan, kullekin oman tehtävänsä, käski hän myös ovenvartijan valvoa.
35 Watch therefore: for you know not when the Lord of the house cometh, late, or at midnight, or at the crowing of the cock, or in the morning;
Valvokaa siis, sillä ette tiedä, milloin talon herra tulee, iltamyöhälläkö vai yösydännä vai kukonlaulun aikaan vai varhain aamulla,
36 lest having come suddenly he may find you sleeping.
ettei hän, äkkiarvaamatta tullessaan, tapaisi teitä nukkumasta.
37 And the things I say to you, I say to all, Watch.
Mutta minkä minä teille sanon, sen minä sanon kaikille: valvokaa."
