1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Ghost, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, tempted by the devil forty days.

2 And He ate nothing during those days; and they having been completed, He afterward hungered.

3 And the devil said to Him, If thou art the Son of God, speak to this stone, in order that it may become bread.

4 And Jesus responded to him, saying; It has been written, That man shall not live upon bread alone, but upon every word of God.

Jisua'n a thuona, “Pathien lekhabu'n, vaîpôl riemin miriem ring thei nonih ati,” a tipea.

5 And the devil leading Him up, he showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

Hanchu, Diabolin, muol insângpa taka a tuong nôka, rammuol pumpuia rêngramngei phûkhatin a min ena.

6 And the devil said to Him, I will give all the authority and glories of these to thee: because it has been given unto me: and I give it to whom I may wish;

A kôma, “Hi ngei chunga rachamneinangei le rochonngei hi nang pêk ki tih, ko kôma ipêk ani zoi, ku nunuom kôm ke pêk thei.

7 then if thou mayest worship before me all shall belong to thee.

Chubai ni mûk inla anrêngin nang pêk let ki tih,” a tia.

8 And Jesus responding said to him; It has been written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and Him only shalt thou serve.

9 And he led Him into Jerusalem, and placed Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, If thou art the Son of God cast thyself down from thence;

10 for it has been written, That He will give His angels charge concerning thee, in order to guard thee,

Lekhabu'n, Pathien'n a vântîrtonngei nang dom rangin juongtîr a ta,

11 and they will bear thee upon their hands, lest at any time thou mayest dash thy foot against a stone.

an kutin nang dom an ta, ne ke khom lungin inde no tinih ati,” a tipea.

12 And Jesus responding said to him; That it has been said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Jisua'n, Lekhabua, “Pumapa na Pathien minsin no roh, ai ti kêng,” tiin a thuona.

13 And the devil having perfected every temptation, departed from Him for a season.

A methêmna rang murdia a methêm zoiin chu, Diabolin chuminrên danga rangin a mâk zoi.

14 And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit into Galilee. And the fame concerning Him went throughout the whole country.

Hanchu, Jisua hah Ratha Inthieng sinthotheina neiin Galilee rama a kîr nôka, ha ram sûnga han a thurchi ânthang zoia.

15 And He was teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

Inkhom inngeia mi a minchu ngeia, mi murdi minpâkin a oma.

16 And He came into Nazareth, where He was brought up: and according to the custom to Him, He came into the synagogue on the Sabbath-day, and stood up to read.

17 And the Book of Isaiah the prophet was given to Him; and having opened the book, He found the place where it was written,

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor: hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and sight to the blind, and to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

20 And having closed the book, and giving it back to the officer, He sat down: and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on Him.

21 And He began to say to them; This day has this Scripture been fulfilled in your ears.

22 And they all continued to witness to Him, and wonder at the words of grace proceeding out from His mouth: and say, Is not this the son of Joseph?

24 And He said, Truly I say unto you, that no prophet is acceptable in his own country.

25 And in truth I say unto you, There were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah. When the heaven was shut up three years and six months, how the famine was great over all the land;

“Rangâi ta u, hih adik ani, Elijah zora lâiin Isreal rama meithâi tamtak an oma, kumthum in-ang ruo juong loiin a oma, an ram pumpui mâitâm achula.

26 and Elijah was sent to none of them, except to a widow woman in Sarepta of Sidon.

Isreal rama meithâi inkhat Sidon rama Zarephath khuomi kôma tiloi chu Elijah hah tute kôma itîr ni mak.

27 And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha; and none of them were cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.

Dêipu Elisha zora lai khomin Isreal rama mi phâr tamtak an oma, hannisenla, tute dam loiin, Syria rama Naaman mang kêng mindamin a om,” a tia.

28 And all in the synagogue, hearing these things, were filled with wrath.

Synagog mipuingei han, a chong hah an rietin chu an ningthik oka,

29 And rising up, they cast Him out of the city, and were leading Him to the brink of the mountain on which their city was built, to hurl Him down;

an inthoia, an khopui rôlsora namthâk rangin khopui renga an mojôk paia.

30 and He having passed through the midst of them went away.

31 And He came down into Capernaum, a city of Galilee, And He was teaching them on the Sabbath.

32 And they were astonished at His teaching; because His word was with authority.

33 And in the synagogue there was a man having a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried with a great voice,

Synagog taka han mi inkhat ramkhori ratha dôn a oma, rôl inring takin ânieka.

34 saying, Let me alone; what is there to us and to thee, O Jesus the Nazarene? Hast thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

“O! Nazereth Jisua, Imo lo rang mini ti? Mi minmang ranga hong mo nini? Nang ki riet, Pathien tîrton inthieng nini!” a tia.

35 Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent and come out from him; and the demon having thrown him down in the midst came out from him, not having injured him.

36 And fear came upon them all, and they were talking together to one another, saying, What word is this? because with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.

37 And the report concerning Him was going out into every place in the surrounding country,

38 Having arisen up from the synagogue, He came into the house of Simon. And the mother-in-law of Simon was afflicted with a great fever; and they asked Him concerning her.

39 And He, standing over her, rebuked the fever; and dismissed it; and immediately, having stood up, she continued to minister unto them.

40 And the sun having gone down, all so many as had people afflicted with various diseases continued to lead them to Him; and He having put His hands on each one of them, healed them.

41 And the demons continued to go out from many, crying, and saying, Thou art the Christ, the Son of God. And rebuking them, He did not suffer them to speak, because they knew that He was the Christ.

43 And He said to them, That, it behooveth me to preach the gospel of the kingdom of God to many other cities: because unto this I have been sent.

44 And He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
