John 8
Y Jesús se fue al monte de las Olivas.
Y por la mañana volvió al templo, y todo el pueblo vino a él; y sentado él los enseñaba.
Entonces los escribas y los Fariseos traen a él una mujer tomada en adulterio; y poniéndola en medio,
Dícenle: Maestro, esta mujer ha sido tomada en el mismo hecho adulterando.
Y en la ley Moisés nos mandó apedrear a las tales: ¿Tú, pues, qué dices?
Mas esto decían tentándole, para poderle acusar; empero Jesús bajado hacia abajo escribía en tierra con el dedo.
Y como perseverasen preguntándole, enderezóse, y les dijo: El que de vosotros es sin pecado, arroje contra ella la piedra el primero.
Y volviéndose a bajar hacia abajo, escribía en tierra.
Oyendo pues ellos esto, redargüidos de la conciencia, salíanse uno a uno, comenzando desde los más viejos, hasta los postreros, y quedó solo Jesús, y la mujer que estaba en medio.
Y enderezándose Jesús, y no viendo a nadie más que a la mujer, le dijo: ¿Mujer, dónde están los que te acusaban? ¿ninguno te ha condenado?
Y ella dijo: Señor, ninguno. Entonces Jesús le dijo: Ni yo te condeno: vete, y no peques más.
12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world: the one following me can not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of the life.
Y hablóles Jesús otra vez, diciendo: Yo soy la luz del mundo: el que me sigue, no andará en tinieblas; mas tendrá la luz de vida.
13 Then the Pharisees said to Him, Thou art testifying concerning thyself; Thy testimony is not true. And Jesus responded and said to them,
Entonces los Fariseos le dijeron: Tú de ti mismo das testimonio: tu testimonio no es verdadero.
14 If I testify concerning myself, my testimony is true; for I know whence I came, and whither I go. You know not whence I come, or whither I go.
Respondió Jesús, y les dijo: Aunque yo doy testimonio de mí mismo, mi testimonio es verdadero; porque sé de donde he venido, y a donde voy; mas vosotros no sabéis de donde vengo, y a donde voy.
15 You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one.
Vosotros según la carne juzgáis; mas yo no juzgo a nadie.
16 If I judge, my judgment is true; because I am not alone, but I and the One having sent me.
Mas si yo juzgo, mi juicio es verdadero; porque no soy solo, sino yo, y el Padre que me envió.
17 And it has been written in our law, that the testimony of two men is true.
Y en vuestra ley está escrito, que el testimonio de dos hombres es verdadero.
18 I am the one testifying concerning myself, and the Father having sent me, testifies concerning me.
Yo soy el que doy testimonio de mí mismo; y da testimonio de mí el Padre que me envió.
19 Then they said to Him, Where is thy Father? Jesus responded; You know neither me nor my Father; if you knew me, you would also know my Father.
Entonces le decían: ¿Dónde está tu Padre? Respondió Jesús: Ni a mí me conocéis, ni a mi Padre. Si a mí me conocieseis, a mi Padre también conoceríais.
20 He spoke these words in the treasury, teaching in the temple: and no one arrested Him; because His hour had not yet come.
Estas palabras habló Jesús en el tesoro, enseñando en el templo; y nadie le prendió, porque aun no había venido su hora.
21 Then He again said to them, I go away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sin: whither I go you are not able to come.
Y díjoles otra vez Jesús: Yo voy, y me buscaréis, y en vuestro pecado moriréis: a donde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir.
22 Then the Jews were saying, Whether will He kill Himself, because He says, Whither I go away, you are not able to come?
Decían entonces los Judíos: ¿Se ha de matar a sí mismo? porque dice: A donde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir.
23 And He said to them, You are from beneath; I am from above: you are of this world; I am not of this world.
Y les decía: Vosotros sois de abajo, yo soy de arriba: vosotros sois de este mundo, yo no soy de este mundo.
24 Therefore I said to you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you may not believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins.
Por eso os dije, que moriríais en vuestros pecados; porque si no creyereis que yo soy, en vuestros pecados moriréis.
25 Then they said to Him, Who art thou? And Jesus said to them, Even that which I also speak to you from the beginning.
Y decíanle: ¿Tú, quién eres? Entonces Jesús les dijo: El que al principio también os he dicho.
26 I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you; but the One having sent me is true; those things which I heard with Him, these I speak to the world.
Muchas cosas tengo que decir, y que juzgar de vosotros; mas el que me envió, es verdadero; y yo lo que he oído de él, esto hablo en el mundo.
27 They did not know that He spoke to them concerning the Father.
Mas no entendieron que él les hablaba del Padre.
28 Then Jesus said, When you may lift up the Son of man, then you shall know that I am He, and I do nothing of myself, but as the Father has taught me, I speak the same things.
Díjoles pues Jesús: Cuando levantareis al Hijo del hombre, entonces entenderéis que yo soy, y que nada hago de mí mismo; mas como el Padre me enseñó, esto hablo.
29 Truly the One having sent me is with me; He has not left me alone; because I always do those things which are pleasing to Him.
Y el que me envió, conmigo está: no me ha dejado solo el Padre; porque yo, lo que a él agrada, hago siempre.
30 He speaking these things, many believed on Him.
Hablando él estas cosas, muchos creyeron en él.
31 Then Jesus said to the Jews, who believed on Him, If you may abide in my word, you are truly my disciples;
Entonces decía Jesús a los Judíos que le habían creído: Si vosotros permaneciereis en mi palabra, seréis verdaderamente mis discípulos;
32 and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Y conoceréis la verdad, y la verdad os hará libres.
33 They responded to Him, we are the seed of Abraham, and have never been in bondage to any one: How do You say, that you shall be free?
Y respondiéronle: Simiente de Abraham somos, y jamás servimos a nadie: ¿cómo dices tú: Seréis hechos libres?
34 Jesus responded to them, Truly, truly, I say unto you, That every one doing sin is the slave of sin.
Jesús les respondió: De cierto, de cierto os digo, que todo aquel que hace pecado, es siervo del pecado.
Y el siervo no queda en casa para siempre; mas el Hijo queda para siempre. (aiōn g165)
36 If therefore the Son may make you free, you shall be free indeed.
Así que, si el Hijo os libertare, seréis verdaderamente libres.
37 I know ye are the seed of Abraham; but you seek to kill me, because my word has no place in you.
Yo sé que sois simiente de Abraham; mas procuráis matarme, porque mi palabra no cabe en vosotros.
38 Whatsoever I have seen with the Father I speak: you therefore are doing the things which you heard with your father.
Yo, lo que he visto con mi Padre, hablo; y vosotros lo que habéis visto con vuestro padre, hacéis.
39 They responded and said to Him, Abraham is our Father. Jesus says to them, If you were the children of Abraham, you would do the works of Abraham.
Respondieron, y dijéronle: Nuestro padre es Abraham. Díceles Jesús: Si fuerais hijos de Abraham, las obras de Abraham, haríais.
40 But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard with God: Abraham did not this.
Empero ahora procuráis de matarme, hombre que os he hablado la verdad, la cual he oído de Dios: no hizo esto Abraham.
41 You are doing the works of your father. They said to Him, We are not born of fornication; we have one Father, God.
Vosotros hacéis las obras de vuestro padre. Dijéronle pues: Nosotros no somos nacidos de fornicación: un solo Padre tenemos, que es Dios.
42 Jesus said to them; If God were your Father, you would love me: for I came out from God, and I return; for I have not spoken from myself, but He sent me.
Jesús entonces les dijo: Si vuestro Padre fuera Dios, ciertamente me amaríais a mí; porque yo de Dios he salido, y he venido; que no he venido de mí mismo, mas él me envió.
43 Wherefore do you not understand my speech? Because you are not able to hear my word.
¿Por qué no entendéis mi lenguaje? es porque no podéis oír mi palabra.
44 You are of your father the devil, and you wish to do the lusts of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and stood not in the truth, because there was no truth in him. When he may speak a lie, he speaks of his own: because he is a liar, and the father of the same.
Vosotros de vuestro padre el diablo sois, y los deseos de vuestro padre queréis cumplir: él homicida ha sido desde el principio; y no permaneció en la verdad; porque no hay verdad en él. Cuando habla mentira, de suyo habla; porque es mentiroso, y padre de mentira.
45 And because I speak the truth, you do not believe me.
Y porque yo os digo la verdad, no me creéis.
46 Which one of you convicts me concerning sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe me?
¿Quién de vosotros me redarguye de pecado? Y si digo la verdad, ¿por qué vosotros no me creéis?
47 The one being of God hears the words of God: on account of this you do not hear, because you are not of God.
El que es de Dios, las palabras de Dios oye: las cuales por tanto no oís vosotros, porque no sois de Dios.
48 The Jews responded and said to Him, Do we not truly say that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon?
Respondieron entonces los Judíos, y dijéronle: ¿No decimos bien nosotros, que tú eres Samaritano, y que tienes demonio?
49 Jesus responded, I have not a demon; but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me.
Respondió Jesús: Yo no tengo demonio; antes honro a mi Padre, y vosotros me habéis deshonrado.
50 But I do not seek my own glory: there is One seeking and judging.
Y yo no busco mi gloria: hay quien la busque, y juzgue.
De cierto, de cierto os digo, que el que guardare mi palabra, no verá muerte para siempre. (aiōn g165)
52 The Jews said to Him, Now we know that thou hast a demon. Abraham and the prophets are dead; and thou sayest, If any one may keep my word, he may never taste death. (aiōn g165)
Entonces los Judíos le dijeron: Ahora conocemos que tienes demonio: Abraham murió, y los profetas; y tú dices: El que guardare mi palabra, no gustará muerte para siempre. (aiōn g165)
53 Whether art thou greater than our father Abraham, who died? and the prophets died: whom do you make yourself?
¿Eres tú mayor que nuestro padre Abraham, el cual murió? y los profetas murieron: ¿quién te haces a ti mismo?
54 Jesus responded, If I may glorify myself, my glory is nothing: my Father is the one glorifying me; whom you say, that, He is our God;
Respondió Jesús: Si yo me glorifico a mí mismo, mi gloria es nada: mi Padre es el que me glorifica: el que vosotros decís, que es vuestro Dios.
55 indeed you do not know Him: but I know Him. If I may say, I know Him not, I will be a liar like you: but I know Him, and I keep His word.
Mas no le conocéis: yo empero le conozco; y si dijere que no le conozco, seré como vosotros, mentiroso; mas le conozco, y guardo su palabra.
56 Abraham, our father, rejoiced that he might see my day; he saw it, and was glad.
Abraham vuestro padre se regocijó por ver mi día; y lo vio, y se regocijó.
57 Then the Jews said to Him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?
Dijéronle entonces los Judíos: Aun no tienes cincuenta años; ¿y has visto a Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Truly, truly, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Díjoles Jesús: De cierto, de cierto os digo, antes que Abraham fuese, yo soy.
59 Then they took up stones that they might cast at Him: and Jesus was hidden, and departed out from the temple.
Tomaron entonces piedras para arrojarle; mas Jesús se encubrió, y se salió del templo, pasando por medio de ellos, y así pasó.
