John 14
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
১“তোমাদের মন যেন অস্থির না হয়। তোমরা ঈশ্বরে বিশ্বাস কর; আমাকেও বিশ্বাস কর।
2 Many mansions are in the house of my Father; but if it were not so, I would have told you; because I go to prepare a place for you.
২আমার পিতার বাড়িতে থাকার অনেক জায়গা আছে; যদি এরকম না হত, আমি তোমাদের বলতাম, সেইজন্য আমি তোমাদের জন্য থাকার জায়গা তৈরী করতে যাচ্ছি।
3 And if I may go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; in order that you may also be where I am.
৩যদি আমি যাই এবং তোমাদের জন্য থাকার জায়গা তৈরী করি, আমি আবার আসব এবং আমার কাছে তোমাদের নিয়ে যাব যেন আমি যেখানে থাকি তোমরাও সেখানে থাকতে পার,
4 And whither I go, you know the way.
৪আমি কোথায় যাচ্ছি সে পথ তোমরা জান।”
5 And Thomas says to Him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest: and how do we know the way?
৫থোমা যীশুকে বললেন, “প্রভু, আমরা জানি না আপনি কোথায় যাচ্ছেন; আমরা কিভাবে পথটা জানব?”
6 Jesus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh to the Father, but through me.
৬যীশু তাঁকে বললেন, “আমিই পথ, আমিই সত্য এবং আমিই জীবন; আমাকে ছাড়া কেউ পিতার কাছে যেতে পারে না।
7 If you have known me, you shall also know my Father: and henceforth you know Him and have seen Him.
৭যদি তোমরা আমাকে জানতে, তবে তোমরা আমার পিতা কেও জানতে; এখন থেকে তোমরা তাঁকে জেনেছ এবং তাঁকে দেখেছ।”
8 Philip says to Him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
৮ফিলিপ যীশুকে বললেন, “প্রভু, আমাদের পিতাকে দেখান এবং এটাই আমাদের জন্য যথেষ্ট হবে।”
9 Jesus says to Him, Am I so long time with you, and hast thou not known me, Philip? The one having seen me hath seen the Father: how do you say, Show us the Father?
৯যীশু তাঁকে বললেন, “ফিলিপ, আমি এত দিন ধরে তোমাদের সঙ্গে আছি তবুও তুমি কি এখনো আমাকে চিনতে পারনি?” যে আমাকে দেখেছে সে পিতাকেও দেখেছে; তোমরা কিভাবে বলতে পারো, “পিতাকে আমাদের দেখান?”
10 Dost thou not believe, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words which I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father who abideth in me doeth His own works.
১০তোমরা কি বিশ্বাস কর না যে আমি পিতাতে আছি এবং পিতা আমার মধ্যে আছেন? যে সব শিক্ষার কথা আমি তোমাদের বলছি সে সব আমার নিজের কথা নয়; কিন্তু পিতা আমার মধ্যে থেকে নিজের কাজ করছেন।
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or if not, believe for the sake of the works themselves.
১১আমাকে বিশ্বাস কর যে, আমি পিতাতে আছি এবং পিতা আমার মধ্যে আছেন; নতুবা আমার কাজের জন্যই আমাকে বিশ্বাস কর।
12 Truly, truly, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, shall also do the works which I am doing; and shall do greater works than these: because I go to the Father:
১২সত্য, সত্য, আমি তোমাদের বলছি, যে কেউ আমাতে বিশ্বাস করে, আমি যে সব কাজ করি, সেও এই সব কাজ করবে; এবং সে এর থেকেও মহান মহান কাজ করবে কারণ আমি পিতার কাছে যাচ্ছি।
13 and whatsoever you may ask in my name, I will do it, in order that the rather may be glorified in the Son.
১৩তোমরা আমার নামে যা কিছু চাইবে, আমি তা করব, যেন পিতা তাঁর পুত্রের মাধ্যমে মহিমান্বিত হন।
14 If you may ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.
১৪যদি তোমরা আমার নামে কিছু চাও, তা আমি করব।
15 If you love me, keep my commandments.
১৫যদি তোমরা আমাকে ভালবাসো, তবে তোমরা আমার সব আদেশ পালন করবে।
16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may be with you always, (aiōn g165)
১৬এবং আমি পিতার কাছে প্রার্থনা করব এবং তিনি তোমাদের অন্য একজন সহায়ক দেবেন সুতরাং তিনি চিরকাল তোমাদের সঙ্গে থাকবেন, (aiōn g165)
17 the Spirit of truth: which the world is not able to receive, because it does not see Him, nor know Him: you know Him: because He abideth with you, and shall be in you.
১৭তিনি সত্যের আত্মা। জগত তাঁকে গ্রহণ করে না কারণ সে তাঁকে দেখেনি অথবা তাঁকে জানে না। তোমরা তাঁকে জান, তিনি তোমাদের সঙ্গে থাকেন এবং তোমাদের মধ্যে থাকবেন।
18 I will not leave you orphans: I am coming to you.
১৮আমি তোমাদের একা রেখে যাব না; আমি তোমাদের কাছে ফিরে আসব।
19 Vet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but you see me: because I live, you shall live also.
১৯কিছুদিন পরে জগত আর আমাকে দেখতে পাবে না, কিন্তু তোমরা আমাকে দেখতে পাবে। কারণ আমি জীবিত আছি, তোমরাও জীবিত থাকবে।
20 In that day you shall know that I am in the Father, you in me, and I in you.
২০যে দিন তোমরা জানবে যে আমি আমার পিতার মধ্যে আছি এবং তোমরা আমার মধ্যে আছ এবং আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে আছি।
21 The one having my commandments, and keeping them, he is the one loving me with divine love: the one loving me with divine love, shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will manifest myself unto him.
২১যে আমার সব আদেশ জানে এবং পালন করে, সেই একজন যে আমাকে ভালবাসে; এবং যে আমাকে ভালবাসে আমার পিতাও তাকে ভালবাসবে এবং আমি তাকে ভালবাসব এবং আমি নিজেকে তার কাছে প্রকাশ করব।
22 Judas. (not Iscariot), says to Him, Lord, and how is it that you are about to manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?
২২যিহূদা (ঈষ্করিয়োতীয় নয়) যীশুকে বললেন, “প্রভু, কি ঘটেছে, যে আপনি আমাদের কাছেই নিজেকে দেখাবেন জগতের কাছে নয়?”
23 Jesus responded and said to him; If any one may love me with divine love, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and will make our mansion with him.
২৩যীশু উত্তর করলেন এবং তাঁকে বললেন, “কেউ যদি আমাকে ভালবাসে, সে আমার কথা পালন করবে। আমার পিতা তাকে ভালবাসবেন এবং আমরা তাঁর কাছে আসব এবং তাঁর সঙ্গে আমাদের বাস করার জায়গা তৈরী করবেন।
24 The one not loving me with divine love does not keep my words: and the word which you hear is not mine, but that of the Father who sent me.
২৪যে কেউ আমাকে ভালবাসে না আমার কথা পালন করে না। যে কথা তোমরা শুনছ সেটা আমার নয় কিন্তু পিতার যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন।”
25 I have spoken these things to you, abiding with you:
২৫আমি তোমাদের এই সব বিষয় বলেছি, যখন আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে ছিলাম।
26 but the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all things, which I spoke to you.
২৬যখন সহায়ক, পবিত্র আত্মা, যাঁদের পিতা আমার নামে পাঠাবেন, তাঁরা তোমাদের সব বিষয়ে শিক্ষা দেবেন এবং আমি তোমাদের যা বলেছি সে সব মনে করিয়ে দেবেন।
27 My peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor afraid.
২৭আমি তোমাদের জন্য শান্তি রেখে যাচ্ছি; আমার শান্তি তোমাদের দান করছি। জগত যেভাবে দেয় আমি সেভাবে দিই না। তোমাদের মন যেন অস্থির না হয় এবং মনে ভয় না থাকে।
28 You heard that I said to you, I go away, and I come to you. If you love me with divine love, you would rejoice, because I go to my Father: because the Father is greater than I.
২৮তোমরা শুনেছ যে, আমি তোমাদের বলেছি, আমি চলে যাচ্ছি এবং আবার তোমাদের কাছে ফিরে আসব। যদি তোমরা আমাকে ভালবাসতে, তবে তোমরা আনন্দ করতে কারণ আমি বাবার কাছে যাচ্ছি, কারণ বাবা আমার চেয়ে মহান।
29 And I have now told you before it takes place, in order that, when it may come to pass, you may believe.
২৯এখন ঐ সব ঘটবার আগে আমি তোমাদের বলছি, যখন এটা ঘটবে তোমরা বিশ্বাস করবে।
30 I shall no longer speak many things with you, because the prince of the world comes: and he has nothing in me;
৩০আমি তোমাদের সঙ্গে আর বেশি কথা বলব না, কারণ জগতের শাসনকর্ত্তা আসিতেছে। আমার উপরে তাঁর কোনো ক্ষমতা নেই,
31 but in order that the world may know that I love the Father, and as He commanded, so I am doing. Arise, let us go hence.
৩১কিন্তু জগত যেন জানে যে, আমি পিতাকে ভালবাসি, পিতা আমাকে যা আদেশ করেন আমি সেই রকম করি। ওঠ, আমরা এ জায়গা ছেড়ে চলে যাই।
