< John 12 >

1 Then Jesus, six days before the passover came into Bethany, where Lazarus, whom Jesus raised from the dead, was,
2 Then they made a supper for Him there: and Martha was serving; and Lazarus was one of those sitting at the table with Him.
Woɖo fiẽnuɖukplɔ̃ na Yesu le afi sia. Marta subɔ Yesu le kplɔ̃ la ŋu. Lazaro hã nɔ kplɔ̃a ŋu kple Yesu.
3 Then Mary taking a pound of myrrh of spikenard, estimated very valuable, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the myrrh.
Esi wonɔ nu ɖum la, Maria tsɔ amiʋeʋĩ xɔasi aɖe vɛ, eye wòsii na Yesu ƒe afɔwo, eye wòtsɔ eƒe taɖa tutu Yesu ƒe afɔwoe. Ami la ƒe ʋeʋẽ xɔ aƒe blibo la me.
4 Then Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, the one about to betray Him, says:
Esi Yuda Iskariɔt, Yesu ƒe nusrɔ̃lawo dometɔ ɖeka, ame si fia Yesu yomemɔ emegbe la kpɔ nu sia la, egblɔ be,
5 Why was not this myrrh sold for three hundred denaria, and given to the poor?
“Nu ka ta womedzra amiʋeʋĩ sia hetsɔ ga la na ame dahewo o ɖo?”
6 And He spoke this, not because there was a care to him for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the purse, and was carrying those things cast in.
Eƒe asi wu ƒe ɖeka ƒe fetu. Megblɔ esia ɖe esi wòtsɔ ɖe le eme na ame dahewo ta o, ke boŋ fiafitɔ wònye; eyae kpɔa nusrɔ̃lawo ƒe ga dzi, eye wònɔa ga la fim.
7 Then Jesus said, Let her alone; she hath reserved this unto the day of my burial;
Tete Yesu ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Miɖe asi le eŋu, elabena ewɔ esia be yeadzram ɖo ɖi na nye ɖigbe.
8 for you have the poor always with you; but you have not me always.
Ame dahewo anɔ mia dome ɖaa, ke nyemanɔ mia dome ɖaa o.”
9 then a great multitude of the Jews came not only on account of Jesus, but that they might see Lazarus, whom He raised from the dead; because he was there.
Esi Yudatɔwo se be Yesu va ɖo wo dome la, woʋli vevie be yewoakpɔe, eye yewoakpɔ Lazaro, ame si Yesu fɔ tso ame kukuwo dome la hã.
10 But the chief priest passed an edict that they would also slay Lazarus;
Eya ta nunɔlagãwo wɔ ɖoɖo be yewoawu Lazaro hã,
11 because through him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
elabena eya tae Yudatɔ geɖewo dze Yesu yome, eye woxɔ edzi se ɖo.
12 On the following day a great multitude having come to the feast, hearing that Jesus comes into Jerusalem,
Esi ŋu ke la, ameha gã si va azã la ɖuƒe la se be Yesu le mɔ dzi gbɔna Yerusalem. Ame geɖe siwo va Ŋutitotoŋkekenyui la ɖuƒe la hã see ale woyi be yewoaɖakpee.
13 They took the branches of the palm-trees, and went out to meet Him, and continued to cry out, Hosanna: blessed is He that cometh, in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel.
Ale woŋe deʋayawo ɖe asi yina be yewoakpee, eye wonɔ ɣli dom nɔ aseye tsom be, “Hosana!” “Yayratɔe nye ame si gbɔna le Aƒetɔ la ƒe ŋkɔ me!” “Yayratɔe nye Israel ƒe fia la!”
14 And Jesus, having found a young donkey, sat upon him, as has been written,
Yesu kpɔ tedzivi aɖe, eye wònɔ anyi ɖe edzi abe ale si woŋlɔe ɖi ene be,
15 Fear not, daughter of Zion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting upon the colt of a donkey.
“Mègavɔ̃ o, Zion nyɔnuvi. Kpɔ ɖa, wò fia do tedzivi gbɔna!”
16 But His disciples at first did not understand these things: but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written in reference to Him, and they did them to Him.
Gbã la, Yesu ƒe nusrɔ̃lawo mese nu siawo katã gɔme o. Ke esi wokɔ Yesu ŋu wòtrɔ dzo yi dziƒo le ŋutikɔkɔe me megbe hafi wode dzesii be woŋlɔ nu siawo tso eŋu, eye wowɔ nu siawo nɛ.
17 Then the multitude being with Him witnessed that He called Lazarus out of the sepulcher, and raised him from the dead.
Azɔ ameha siwo nɔ eteƒe hafi Yesu yɔ Lazaro be wòado go tso yɔdo me, eye wòfɔe ɖe tsitre tso ame kukuwo dome la kaka nya la.
18 Therefore the multitude also went to meet Him, because they heard that He had wrought this miracle.
Le nukunu si wòwɔ wose ta la, amewo ƒo zi yi be yewoaɖakpɔe.
19 Then the Pharisees said to one another, You see, that you are prevailing as to nothing: behold, the world has gone away after Him.
Ale Farisitɔwo gblɔ na wo nɔewo be, “Mikpɔ ɖa, nu sia mele mía dzi de ge o. Mikpɔ ale si xexea me katã kplɔe ɖoe ɖa!”
20 And there was certain Greeks of those having come up that they might worship at the feast:
Grikitɔ aɖewo hã nɔ ame siwo va Yerusalem dua me be yewoaɖu Ŋutitotoŋkekea la dome.
21 then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and requested him, saying, Sir, we wish to see Jesus.
Ame siawo va Filipo, ame si tso Betsaida le Galilea la gbɔ, eye wogblɔ nɛ be, “Aƒetɔ, miedi be miakpɔ Yesu.”
22 Philip comes and tells Andrew: Andrew and Philip go, and speak to Jesus.
23 And Jesus responds to them, saying, The hour has come, that the Son of man may be glorified.
Yesu ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Gaƒoƒo la de be woakɔ Amegbetɔ Vi la ŋu.
24 Truly, truly, I say unto you, Unless the grain of wheat having fallen into the ground may die, it remains alone; but if it may die, it produces much fruit.
25 The one loving his soul shall lose it; but the one that hateth his soul in this world will preserve it unto eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Ame si lɔ̃ eƒe agbe la, abui, ke ame si gbe nu le eƒe agbe gbɔ le xexe sia me, adzrae ɖo ɖi na agbe mavɔ la. (aiōnios g166)
26 If any one may minister unto me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall my minister be: if any one may minister unto me, the Father will honor him.
“Ame si subɔam la, ele be wòadze yonyeme, be afi si mele la, nye subɔla hã nanɔ afi ma. Fofonye ade bubu ame si subɔam la ŋu.
27 Now my soul is troubled; and what do I say? Father, save me from this hour. But on this account I came to this hour.
“Azɔ nye dzi le nu xam, ke nya ka magblɔ? Fofo, ɖem le gaƒoƒo sia mea? Gbeɖe, elabena esia ta meva xexea me ɖo.
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then a voice came from heaven, I have indeed glorified thee, and will glorify thee again.
Fofo, kɔ wò ŋkɔ ŋu.” Esi Yesu wu nya siawo nu la, gbe aɖe ɖi tso dziƒo be, “Mekɔ eŋuti xoxo, eye magakɔ eŋuti.”
29 Then the multitudes standing, hearing, said, That it was thunder; others said, An angel has spoken to Him.
Esi ameha la se gbe sia la, wogblɔ be dziɖegbee; bubuwo gblɔ be mawudɔla aɖe ƒo nu nɛ.
30 Jesus responded and said, This voice was not on account of me, but on account of you.
Yesu gblɔ be, “Miawo ta gbe sia ɖi ɖo, menye tanye o.
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now the prince of this world shall be cast out.
Gaƒoƒo la de be woadrɔ̃ ʋɔnu xexea me; azɔ la, woanya xexe sia me ƒe fia la.
32 And if I may be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men towards me.
33 And He spoke this, signifying by what death He was about to die.
Egblɔ nya sia be yeatsɔ afia ku si ƒomevi ku ge yeala.
34 Then the multitude responded to Him; We have heard from the law that Christ abideth forever; and how do You say, That it behooveth the Son of man to be lifted up? who is this Son of man? (aiōn g165)
Ameha la biae be, “Míesee le Se la me be Kristo la anɔ agbe tegbee. Nu ka ta nèbe ‘woakɔ Amegbetɔ Vi la ɖe dzi’ ɖo? Ame kae nye Amegbetɔ Vi sia?” (aiōn g165)
35 Then Jesus said to them, Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk about as you have the light, in order that the darkness may not overtake you: and he that walketh about in darkness does not know where he is going.
Yesu ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Kekeli la agaklẽ na mi ɣeyiɣi kpui aɖe ko. Mizɔ le kekeli la me hafi viviti nagado ɖe mi. Ame si le viviti me zɔm la menya afi si yim wòle o.
36 While you have the light, believe in the light, in order that you may be the sons of light. And Jesus spoke these things, and having gone out was hidden from them.
Mixɔ kekeli la dzi se esi wòle mia gbɔ, be miazu kekeli ƒe viwo.” Esi Yesu gblɔ nya siawo vɔ la, edo go le ameawo dome ɖaɣla eɖokui.
37 And He having done so many miracles in their presence, they were not believing on Him,
38 in order that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
Esia ɖo kpe Nyagblɔɖila Yesaya ƒe nya dzi be, “Aƒetɔ, ame kae xɔ míaƒe nya dzi se? Eye ame kae woɖe Mawu ƒe ŋusẽ gã la fia?”
39 Wherefore were they not able to believe, because Isaiah again said,
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; in order that they may not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and turn, and I shall heal them.
“Mawu gbã woƒe ŋkuwo, eye wòna be woƒe dziwo ku atri, be womagakpɔ nu kple woƒe ŋkuwo, alo ase nu gɔme kple woƒe dziwo o, alo atrɔ ɖe Mawu ŋu be wòada gbe le wo ŋu o.”
41 Isaiah said these things, because he saw His glory; and spoke concerning Him.
Yesaya gblɔ esia, elabena ekpɔ Yesu ƒe ŋutikɔkɔe, eye wòƒo nu tso eŋu.
42 Nevertheless indeed many of the rulers also believed on Him; but they were not confessing Him on account of the Pharisees, in order that they might not be put out of the synagogues:
Ke hã la, Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegã geɖewo xɔ Yesu dzi se. Gake ɖe Farisitɔwo ta la, womete ŋu ʋu woƒe xɔse me o; wonɔ vɔvɔ̃m be woanya yewo le gbedoxɔ la me,
43 for they loved the glory of the people more than the glory of God.
elabena wolɔ̃ amegbetɔ ƒe kafukafu wu Mawu ƒe kafukafu.
44 But Jesus cried out and said; The one believing on me, believes not on me, but on Him that sent me,
Yesu do ɣli gblɔ be, “Ne ame aɖe xɔ dzinye se la, menye nye ɖeka dzi wòxɔ se o, ke boŋ ame si dɔm la hã.
45 and the one seeing me, sees the one that sent me.
Elabena ne ekpɔm la, ekpɔ ame si dɔm la hã.
46 I have come a light into the world, in order that every one believing on me may not abide in darkness.
Nye la, meva xexea me abe kekeli ene, be ame si xɔ dzinye se la manɔ viviti me o.
47 And if any one may hear my words, and not keep them, I do not judge him: for I came not that I may judge the world, but that I may save the world.
“Ke ame si se nye nyawo, gake mewɔ ɖe wo dzi o la, nyemadrɔ̃ ʋɔnui o. Elabena nyemeva be madrɔ̃ ʋɔnu xexea me o, ke boŋ be maɖe xexea me.
48 He that rejects me, and receiving not my words, has one judging him: the word which I have spoken, it will judge him in the last day.
Ʋɔnudrɔ̃la aɖe li si adrɔ̃ ʋɔnu ame si gbe nu le gbɔnye, eye mexɔ nye nyawo o; nya siwo megblɔ la, woawoe woatsɔ abu fɔ woe le nuwuwuŋkeke la dzi.
49 Because I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father Himself having sent me, gave me commandment, what I shall speak, and what I shall say.
50 And I know that His commandment is eternal life. Now whatsoever thing I say, as the Father has spoken unto me, so I say. (aiōnios g166)
Menya be eƒe nyawo katã akplɔ ame ayi agbe mavɔ mee. Eya ta megblɔa nya si Fofo la gblɔ nam be magblɔ la.” (aiōnios g166)
