Hebrews 6
1 Therefore having left the word of the beginning of Christ, let us be carried to perfection; not again laying the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Тому залишімо початок вчення Христового й прямуймо до досконалості, не закладаючи знову основ для покаяння у вчинках, [що ведуть до] смерті, віри в Бога,
2 of the teaching of baptisms, and of the laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (aiōnios g166)
вчення про ритуальні обмивання, покладання рук, воскресіння мертвих та вічний суд. (aiōnios g166)
3 And we will do this, if God may permit.
Так і зробимо, якщо Бог дозволить.
4 For it is impossible that those having been once enlightened, and tasted the heavenly gift, and have been made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Бо неможливо тих, хто колись був просвітлений, хто скуштував небесного дару й став учасником Святого Духа,
хто скуштував доброти Божого Слова та сили майбутнього віку (aiōn g165)
6 indeed having fallen away, to renew them again unto repentance; having crucified to themselves again the Son of God, and put him to an open shame.
і хто відпав, знову повернути до покаяння. Адже вони самі наново розпинають Сина Божого й публічно зневажають Його.
7 For the earth drinking the rain coming often upon her, and bringing forth the herb nutritious to those by whom it is also cultivated, receives blessings from God:
Бо Земля, яка п’є дощ, що часто зрошує її, і яка приносить врожай, корисний для того, хто його вирощує, отримує Боже благословення.
8 but that which produces thorns and thistles, is reprobate, and nigh unto the curse; whose end is unto burning.
А земля, яка приносить терни та будяки, ні для чого не придатна та близька до прокляття, а її кінець – спалення.
9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things concerning you, and things appertaining to salvation, if indeed we do thus speak.
Улюблені, хоча й говоримо так, ми впевнені, що у вашому випадку [справи] кращі і ви є спасенними.
10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the divine love which you manifested in his name, having ministered to the saints, and ministering.
Адже Бог не є несправедливий; Він не забуде вашої праці та любові, яку ви проявили та продовжуєте проявляти в ім’я Його, служачи святим.
11 But we desire each one of you to exhibit the same diligence unto the full assurance of hope unto the end:
Ми бажаємо, щоб кожен із вас до кінця виявляв старанність та повноту надії,
12 in order that you may not be dull, but imitators of those who through faith and longsufferings do inherit the promises.
щоб ви не розлінились, а наслідували тих, хто завдяки вірі та терпінню успадковує обітниці.
13 For God having promised Abraham, since he had no greater one by whom to swear, swore by himself,
Коли Бог давав обітницю Авраамові, то поклявся Самим Собою, бо не мав когось більшого.
14 saying, If indeed blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee:
Він сказав: «Я неодмінно рясно благословлю тебе й дуже розмножу твоїх [нащадків]».
15 and thus having waited long, he received the promise.
І ось, терпляче чекаючи, [Авраам] отримав обіцяне.
16 For men swear by the greater: and an oath of confirmation is to them an end to all controversy:
Люди клянуться кимось більшим, ніж вони, і клятва підтверджує сказане та припиняє всяку суперечку.
17 but God, in this wishing more abundantly to show forth to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
Тому й Бог, бажаючи показати спадкоємцям обітниці незмінність Свого наміру, підтвердив це клятвою,
18 that through two immutable things in which it was impossible that God should lie, we who have fled may have a strong consolation to lay hold of the hope set before us,
щоб дві незмінні речі, у яких Бог не може говорити неправду, стали для нас – тих, що знайшли в Ньому захист та вхопилися за надію, яка була перед нами, – непохитною втіхою.
19 which we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is in the veil,
Ця надія – немов якір для душі, тверда й непорушна. Вона входить усередину, за завісу,
