< Hebrews 2 >

1 Therefore it behooves us the more earnestly to give heed to the things which we have heard, lest at some time we may leak out.
ⲁ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ϣϣⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲛϯϩⲧⲏⲛ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲏⲡⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲛϩⲁⲧⲉ
2 For if the word having been spoken by angels was stedfast, and every disobedience and transgression received a just recompense of reward;
ⲃ̅ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓ ⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉϥⲧⲁϫⲣⲏⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲁⲩϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲃⲉⲕⲉ ⲉⲩⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲙⲙⲟϥ
3 how shall we escape, having neglected so great a salvation? which having received the beginning to be spoken by the Lord, was confirmed unto us by those who heard it;
ⲅ̅ⲛⲁϣ ⲛϩⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲧⲛⲛⲁⲣⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲁⲛⲁⲙⲉⲗⲉⲓ ⲉⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓϭⲟⲧ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲣⲭⲏ ⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁϥⲧⲁϫⲣⲟ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ
4 God at the same time witnessing, by signs and indeed by wonders, and various dynamites, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his will.
ⲇ̅ⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲣⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲩϣⲟⲃⲉ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲡⲱⲣϫ ⲙⲡⲛⲁ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲱϣ
5 For he did not submit the world to come, concerning which we speak, to angels.
ⲉ̅ⲛⲧⲁϥϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲟⲓⲕⲟⲩⲙⲉⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ
6 But somewhere one testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? Or the Son of man, that thou visitest him?
ⲋ̅ⲁⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲣⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲁ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲕⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲏ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲕϭⲓⲛⲉ ⲙⲡⲉϥϣⲓⲛⲉ
7 Thou didst humiliate him somewhat comparatively with the angels; thou didst crown him with glory and honor;
ⲍ̅ⲁⲕϭⲟϫⲃⲉϥ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩⲓ ⲡⲁⲣⲁ ⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲕⲥⲧⲉⲫⲁⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲧⲁⲉⲓⲟ ⲁⲕⲕⲁⲑⲓⲥⲧⲁ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉϫⲛ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉⲕϭⲓϫ
8 thou didst subordinate all things beneath his feet. For in subordinating all things beneath him, he left nothing which is not subordinated beneath him.
ⲏ̅ⲁⲕⲑⲃⲃⲓⲉ ⲛⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲁ ⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏ ⲧⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲣⲉϥⲑⲃⲃⲓⲉ ⲛⲕⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲓⲉ ⲙⲡϥⲕⲁ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲛϥϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲁⲩϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲁϥ
9 But we see Jesus humiliated somewhat in comparison with the angels, having been crowned with glory and honor on account of the suffering of death, in order that by the grace of God he might taste death for every one.
ⲑ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϭⲟϫⲃⲉϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩⲓ ⲡⲁⲣⲁ ⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲓⲏⲥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲙⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲉϥⲥⲧⲉⲫⲁⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲧⲁⲉⲓⲟ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉϥⲉϫⲓϯⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲁ ⲡⲧⲏⲣϥ
10 For it became him, on account of whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in leading many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through suffering.
ⲓ̅ⲛⲉⲥⲡⲣⲉⲡⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲁϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲛⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓ ⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ ϩⲁϩ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲁϥⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲭⲏⲅⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ϩⲉⲛϩⲓⲥⲉ
11 For both the one sanctifying and they who are sanctified are all of one: on account of which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲉⲛⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛϥϣⲓⲡⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲥⲛⲏⲩ
12 saying, I will proclaim thy name to thy brethren, in the midst of the church will sing praises to thee.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ϯⲛⲁϫⲱ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲣⲁⲛ ϩⲛ ⲛⲁⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲛⲧⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ϯⲛⲁⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ
13 And again, I will put my trust in him: and again; Behold, I and the children which God has given unto me.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲓⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲙⲛ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ
14 Then since the children have inherited blood and flesh, he likewise also received the same, in order that through death he might set at nought him who has the power of death, that is, the devil;
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲇⲏ ⲁⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ϭⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲕⲟⲓⲛⲱⲛⲓ ⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ ϩⲓ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ϩⲱⲱϥ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲁϥⲙⲉⲧⲉⲭⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲓ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲉϥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉϥⲉⲟⲩⲱⲥϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲛⲧϥ ⲡⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲙⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲇⲓⲁⲃⲟⲗⲟⲥ
15 and might reconcile them whosoever were subject to bondage all their life through the fear of death.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲡⲗϭ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲛ ⲑⲟⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲁϩⲉ ⲉⲩⲟ ⲛⲉⲛⲟⲭⲟⲥ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧϩⲙϩⲁⲗ
16 For not yet does he take upon himself the nature of angels, but he takes upon himself the seed of Abraham.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲛⲉϥⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉϥⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲡⲉⲣⲙⲁ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ
17 Therefore he ought in all things to be made like unto his brethren, in order that he might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things appertaining to God, to the end that he may atone for the sins of the people.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲉϣϣⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲥⲛⲏⲩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲕⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲙⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ
18 For in that he himself suffered being tempted, he is able to succor those who are tempted.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ϩⲙ ⲡϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲟⲡϥ ⲉⲁⲩⲡⲉⲓⲣⲁⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲛϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲏⲑⲓ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲡⲉⲓⲣⲁⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ
