Hebrews 11
1 But faith is the confidence of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
১যখন মানুষেরা কিছু পাবার আশা করেন, সেই নিশ্চয়তাই হল বিশ্বাস। এটা সেই বিষয়ে নিশ্চয়তা যা তখন দেখা যায়নি
2 For by it the elders receive the witness of the Spirit.
২কারণ এই বিশ্বাসের জন্য আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা অনুমোদিত হয়েছিল।
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were created by the word of God, and that which was seen was not made from things which are manifest. (aiōn g165)
৩বিশ্বাসে আমরা বুঝিতে পারি যে, পৃথিবী ঈশ্বরের আদেশে সৃষ্টি হয়েছে, সুতরাং যা দৃশ্যমান তা ঐ সব দৃশ্যমান জিনিসের সৃষ্টি করতে পারেনা। (aiōn g165)
4 By faith Abel offered up to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he received the witness that he was righteous, God witnessing to his gifts: and through it he having died is still speaking.
৪বিশ্বাসে হেবল ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশ্যে কয়িনের থেকে শ্রেষ্ঠ বলিদান উৎসর্গ করলেন। এর কারণ এটাই যে সে ধার্ম্মিকতায় প্রশংসা করেছিল। ঈশ্বর তাকে প্রশংসিত করেছিল কারণ সে যে উপহার এনেছিল। ঐ কারণ, হেবল মৃত হলেও এখনও কথা বলছেন।
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and he was not found because God translated him. For before he was translated he had the witness of the Spirit, that he pleased God:
৫বিশ্বাসে হনোক স্বর্গে গেলেন, যেন মৃত্যু না দেখতে পান। “তাকে খুঁজে পাওয়া গেল না, কারণ ঈশ্বর তাঁকে তুলে নিলেন।” ফলে ঈশ্বর তাকে নিয়ে যাবার আগে তার জন্য বলা হয়েছিল যে তিনি ঈশ্বরকে সন্তুষ্ট করেছিলেন।
6 but without faith it is impossible to please him: for it behooves the one coming unto God to believe that he is, and he is a rewarder unto them who seek him out.
৬বিশ্বাস ছাড়া ঈশ্বরকে সন্তুষ্ট করা অসম্ভব, কারণ যে ব্যক্তি ঈশ্বরের কাছে আসে, তার এটা বিশ্বাস করা অবশ্যই প্রয়োজন যে ঈশ্বর আছেন এবং যারা তাঁর খোঁজ করে, তিনি তাদের পুরষ্কারদাতা।
7 By faith Noah, being warned concerning things not yet seen, being moved with fear, prepared an ark for the salvation of his family; by which he condemned the world, and became heir to the righteousness which is according to faith.
৭বিশ্বাসে নোহ যা তখনো দেখা যায়নি, এমন সব বিষয়ে সতর্ক হয়ে ঈশ্বরের আদেশ পেয়ে, ঐশ্বরিক নিষ্ঠার সঙ্গে তাঁর পরিবারকে উদ্ধার করার জন্য এক জাহাজ তৈরী করলেন। এবং তার মাধ্যমে জগতকে দোষী করলেন এবং নিজে সত্য বিশ্বাসের মাধ্যমে ন্যায়ের উত্তরাধিকারী হলেন।
8 By faith Abraham, being called to go out into a place which he was about to receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and went out, not knowing whither he goes.
৮বিশ্বাসে অব্রাহাম, যখন তিনি মনোনীত হলেন, তিনি ঈশ্বরের বাধ্য হলেন এবং তিনি যে জায়গা পাবেন তা অধিকার করতে চলে গেলেন। তিনি কোথায় যাচ্ছেন, তা না জেনে রওনা দিলেন।
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as a strange country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow-heirs of the same promise:
৯বিশ্বাসে তিনি ঈশ্বরের প্রতিশ্রুত সেই দেশে বিদেশীর মতো বাস করলেন। তিনি সেই প্রতিজ্ঞার সহউত্তরাধিকারী ইসহাক ও যাকোবের সাথে কুটিরেই বাস করতেন;
10 for he anticipated a city having foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
১০এই কারণ তিনি ভিত্তিমূলবিশিষ্ট এক শহরের অপেক্ষা করছিলেন, যার স্থাপনকর্তা ও নির্মাতা ঈশ্বর।
11 And by faith Sarah herself received power unto the conception of seed, even past the time of age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.
১১বিশ্বাসে অব্রাহাম এবং সারা নিজেও বংশ উৎপাদনের শক্তি পেলেন, যদিও তাদের অনেক বয়স হয়েছিল, কারণ তারা ঈশ্বরকে বিশ্বস্ত বলে মনে করেছিলেন যে তাদেরকে এক পুত্র দেওয়ার প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছিল।
12 Therefore indeed they were born of one, and those things of one having died, as the stars of heaven for multitude, and as the sands which are by the sea, which are innumerable.
১২এই জন্য এই একজন মানুষ থেকে যে মৃতকল্প ছিল তার থেকে অগণিত বংশধর জন্মালো। তারা আকাশের অনেক তারাদের মতো এবং সমুদ্রতীরের অগণিত বালুকনার মতো এলো।
13 These all died in the faith, not having received the promises, but seeing them afar off, and embracing them, and confessing that they are strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
১৩এরা সবাই বিশ্বাস নিয়ে মারা গেলেন কোনো প্রতিজ্ঞা গ্রহণ না করেই, পরিবর্তে, দূর থেকে তা দেখেছিলেন এবং তাকে স্বাগত জানিয়েছিলেন, তারা যে পৃথিবীতে অচেনা ও বিদেশী, এটা স্বীকার করেছিলেন।
14 For those speaking such things declare that they are seeking after a country of their own.
১৪এই জন্য যারা এরকম কথা বলেন তারা স্পষ্টই বলেন, যে তারা নিজের দেশের খোঁজ করছেন।
15 If indeed they remember that country from which they came out, they would have had an opportunity to return;
১৫পরিবর্তে যদি তারা যে দেশ থেকে বের হয়েছিলেন, সেই দেশ যদি মনে রাখতেন, তবে ফিরে যাবার সুযোগ পেতেন।
16 but now they seek a better country, that is, a heavenly. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he has prepared for them a city.
১৬কিন্তু এখন তারা আরও ভালো দেশের, অর্থাৎ এক স্বর্গীয় দেশের, আকাঙ্খা করছেন। এই জন্য ঈশ্বর, নিজেকে তাঁদের ঈশ্বর বলতে লজ্জিত নন; কারণ তিনি তাদের জন্য এক শহর তৈরী করেছেন।
17 By faith Abraham, being tested, offered up Isaac: and the one having received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
১৭বিশ্বাসে অব্রাহাম পরীক্ষিত হয়ে ইসহাককে উৎসর্গ করেছিলেন; হ্যাঁ, তিনি যে প্রতিজ্ঞা সব সানন্দে গ্রহণ করে তার একমাত্র পুত্রকে বলি রূপে উৎসর্গ করছিলেন,
18 in reference to whom it was said, In Isaac shall thy seed be called:
১৮যাঁর নামে তাঁকে বলা হয়েছিল, “ইসহাক থেকে তোমার বংশ আখ্যাত হবে।”
19 considering that God is able to raise him from the dead; whence he also received him in a figure.
১৯তিনি মনে বিবেচনা করেছিলেন যে, ঈশ্বর ইসহাককে মৃত্যু থেকে উঠাতে সমর্থ, আবার তিনি তাকে দৃষ্টান্তরূপে ফিরে পেলেন।
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
২০বিশ্বাসে ইসহাক আগামী বিষয়ের উদ্দেশ্যেও যাকোবকে ও এষৌকে আশীর্বাদ করলেন।
21 By faith Jacob, when dying, blessed each one of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, on the hilt of his staff.
২১বিশ্বাসে যাকোব, যখন তিনি মারা যাচ্ছিলেন, তিনি যোষেফের উভয় পুত্রকে আশীর্বাদ করলেন। যাকোব নিজের লাঠির ওপরে ভর করে উপাসনা করছিলেন।
22 By faith Joseph, dying, made mention concerning the exodus of the children of Israel; and commanded concerning his own bones.
২২বিশ্বাসে যোষেফের বয়সের শেষ দিনের ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের মিশর থেকে চলে যাবার বিষয় উল্লেখ করলেন এবং নিজের অস্থিসমূহের বিষয়ে তাদের আদেশ দিলেন।
23 By faith Moses, having been born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw that he was a beautiful child; and did not fear the commandment of the king.
২৩বিশ্বাসে, মোশি জন্মালে পর, তিনমাস পর্যন্ত পিতামাতা তাকে গোপনে রাখলেন, কারণ তারা দেখলেন, যে শিশুটী সুন্দর নিস্পাপ এবং তারা আর রাজার আদেশে ভীত হলেন না।
24 By faith Moses, having become an adult, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
২৪বিশ্বাসে মোশি বড় হয়ে উঠলে পর ফরৌণের মেয়ের ছেলে বলে আখ্যাত হতে অস্বীকার করলেন।
25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasure of sin for a season;
২৫পরিবর্তে, তিনি পাপের কিছুক্ষণ সুখভোগ থেকে বরং ঈশ্বরের প্রজাদের সঙ্গে দুঃখভোগ বেছে নিলেন;
26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he was looking unto the recompense of reward.
২৬তিনি মিশরের সব ধন অপেক্ষা খ্রীষ্টের দুর্নাম মহাধন বলে বিবেচিত করলেন, কারণ, তিনি ভবিষ্যতের পুরষ্কারদানের প্রতি দৃষ্টি রাখতেন।
27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he went out, as seeing the invisible one.
২৭বিশ্বাসে মোশি মিশর ত্যাগ করলেন। তিনি রাজার রাগকে ভয় পাননি, কারণ যিনি অদৃশ্য, তাকে যেন দেখেই দৃঢ় থাকলেন।
28 By faith he instituted the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, in order that the one destroying the first-born might not touch them.
২৮বিশ্বাসে তিনি নিস্তারপর্ব্ব ও রক্ত ছেটানোর অনুষ্ঠান স্থাপন করলেন, যেন প্রথম জন্মানোদের সংহারকর্তা ইস্রায়েলীয়দের প্রথম জন্মানো ছেলেদেরকে স্পর্শ না করেন।
29 By faith they pass through the Red sea as through dry land: the undertaking of which the Egyptians having entered upon were drowned.
২৯বিশ্বাসে লোকেরা শুষ্ক ভূমির মতো লোহিত সমুদ্রের মধ্যে দিয়ে গমন করল, যখন মিশরীয়রা সেই চেষ্টা করল, আর তারা কবলিত হল।
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell, having been encompassed about seven days,
৩০বিশ্বাসে যিরীহোর পাঁচিল, তারা সাত দিন প্রদক্ষিণ করলে পর, পড়ে গেল।
31 By faith Rahab the harlot perished not with the unbelievers, having received the spies with peace.
৩১বিশ্বাসে রাহব বেশ্যা, শান্তির সাথে গুপ্তচরদের নিরাপত্তায় গ্রহণ করাতে, সে অবাধ্যদের সাথে বিনষ্ট হল না।
32 And what do I yet say? time will fail me relating concerning Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, and David, and Samuel, and the prophets:
৩২এবং আর কি বলব? গিদিয়োন, বারক, শিমশোন, যিপ্তহ, দায়ূদ, শমূয়েল ও ভাববাদীরা এই সকলের বিষয়ে বলতে গেলে যথেষ্ট দিন হবে না।
33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness,
৩৩বিশ্বাসের মাধ্যমে এরা নানা রাজ্য পরাজয় করলেন, ন্যায়ে কাজ করলেন এবং নানা প্রতিজ্ঞা গ্রহণ করলেন। তারা সিংহদের মুখ থেকে বাঁচলেন,
34 obtained promises, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness became filled up with dynamite, became mighty in war, put to flight the armies of the aliens:
৩৪অগ্নির তেজ নেভালেন, খড়গের থেকে পালালেন, দুর্বলতা থেকে সুস্থ হলেন, যুদ্ধে ক্ষমতাশালী হলেন, বিদেশী সৈন্যদের তাড়িয়ে দিলেন।
35 women receive their dead from a resurrection: some were tortured, not accepting deliverance; in order that they might receive a better resurrection:
৩৫নারীরা নিজের নিজের মৃত লোককে পুনরুত্থানের মাধ্যমে ফিরে পেলেন। অন্যেরা নির্যাতনের মাধ্যমে নিহত হলেন, তারা তাদের মুক্তি গ্রহণ করেননি, যেন শ্রেষ্ঠ পুনরুত্থানের ভাগী হতে পারেন।
36 and others received the trial of scourgings and mockings, and still of bonds and imprisonment:
৩৬আর অন্যেরা বিদ্রূপের ও বেত্রাঘাতের, হ্যাঁ, এছাড়া শিকলের ও কারাগারে পরীক্ষা ভোগ করলেন।
37 they were stoned, they were tempted, they were burnt, they died by the edge of the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins; being destitute, troubled, persecuted,
৩৭তাঁরা পাথরের আঘাতে মরলেন, করাতের মাধ্যমে দুখন্ড হলেন, খড়গের মাধ্যমে নিহত হলেন। তাঁরা নিঃস্ব অবস্থায় মেষের ও ছাগলের চামড়া পরে বেড়াতেন, দীনহীন এবং খারাপ ব্যবহার পেতেন;
38 of whom the world was not worthy; wandering in deserts, and in mountains, and caves and dens of the earth.
৩৮(এই জগত যাদের যোগ্য ছিল না) তাঁরা মরূপ্রান্তে, পাহাড়ে, গুহায় ও পৃথিবীর গহ্বরে ভ্রমণ করতেন।
39 And all these, having received the witness of the spirit through faith, did not obtain the promise:
৩৯আর বিশ্বাসের জন্য এদের সকলের অনুমোদিত করা হয়েছিল, ঈশ্বরের প্রতিজ্ঞা এরা গ্রহণ করে নি;
40 God having reserved something better for us, that they might not be made perfect apart from us.
৪০কারণ ঈশ্বর আমাদের জন্য নির্দিষ্ট দিনের র আগেই কোনো শ্রেষ্ঠ বিষয় যোগান দিয়ে রেখেছেন, যেন তারা আমাদের ছাড়া পরিপূর্ণতা না পান।
