< Galatians 1 >

1 Paul, an apostle, not from men, nor through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead,
manuṣyebhyo nahi manuṣyairapi nahi kintu yīśukhrīṣṭena mṛtagaṇamadhyāt tasyotthāpayitrā pitreśvareṇa ca prerito yo'haṁ paulaḥ so'haṁ
2 and all the brethren who are with me, to the churches of Galatia.
matsahavarttino bhrātaraśca vayaṁ gālātīyadeśasthāḥ samitīḥ prati patraṁ likhāmaḥ|
3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ,
pitreśvareṇāsmāṁka prabhunā yīśunā khrīṣṭena ca yuṣmabhyam anugrahaḥ śāntiśca dīyatāṁ|
4 who gave Himself for our sins, in order that he might redeem us from the present evil age, according to the will of God even our Father: (aiōn g165)
asmākaṁ tāteśvaresyecchānusāreṇa varttamānāt kutsitasaṁsārād asmān nistārayituṁ yo (aiōn g165)
5 To whom be glory unto the ages of the ages. Amen. (aiōn g165)
yīśurasmākaṁ pāpahetorātmotsargaṁ kṛtavān sa sarvvadā dhanyo bhūyāt| tathāstu| (aiōn g165)
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly removed from him who called you in the grace of Christ into another gospel;
khrīṣṭasyānugraheṇa yo yuṣmān āhūtavān tasmānnivṛtya yūyam atitūrṇam anyaṁ susaṁvādam anvavarttata tatrāhaṁ vismayaṁ manye|
7 which is not another: but there are certain ones who are troubling you, and wishing to pervert the gospel of Christ.
so'nyasusaṁvādaḥ susaṁvādo nahi kintu kecit mānavā yuṣmān cañcalīkurvvanti khrīṣṭīyasusaṁvādasya viparyyayaṁ karttuṁ ceṣṭante ca|
8 But indeed if we, or an angel from heaven, may preach unto you any other gospel except that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
yuṣmākaṁ sannidhau yaḥ susaṁvādo'smābhi rghoṣitastasmād anyaḥ susaṁvādo'smākaṁ svargīyadūtānāṁ vā madhye kenacid yadi ghoṣyate tarhi sa śapto bhavatu|
9 As we have before said, and now again I tell you, If any one preaches to you a gospel except that which you have received, let him be accursed.
pūrvvaṁ yadvad akathayāma, idānīmahaṁ punastadvat kathayāmi yūyaṁ yaṁ susaṁvādaṁ gṛhītavantastasmād anyo yena kenacid yuṣmatsannidhau ghoṣyate sa śapto bhavatu|
10 For must I now believe men, or God? whether do I seek to please men? if I were still pleasing men, I would not be the servant of Christ.
sāmprataṁ kamaham anunayāmi? īśvaraṁ kiṁvā mānavān? ahaṁ kiṁ mānuṣebhyo rocituṁ yate? yadyaham idānīmapi mānuṣebhyo ruruciṣeya tarhi khrīṣṭasya paricārako na bhavāmi|
11 But I make known to you, brethren, the gospel was preached to me, that it is not according to a man;
he bhrātaraḥ, mayā yaḥ susaṁvādo ghoṣitaḥ sa mānuṣānna labdhastadahaṁ yuṣmān jñāpayāmi|
12 for I did not receive it from man, neither was I taught it, but through the revelation of Jesus Christ.
ahaṁ kasmāccit manuṣyāt taṁ na gṛhītavān na vā śikṣitavān kevalaṁ yīśoḥ khrīṣṭasya prakāśanādeva|
13 For you have heard of my life formerly in Judaism, that I was persecuting the church of God exceedingly, and destroying it:
purā yihūdimatācārī yadāham āsaṁ tadā yādṛśam ācaraṇam akaravam īśvarasya samitiṁ pratyatīvopadravaṁ kurvvan yādṛk tāṁ vyanāśayaṁ tadavaśyaṁ śrutaṁ yuṣmābhiḥ|
14 and I was prominent in Judaism above many comrades in my race, being exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
aparañca pūrvvapuruṣaparamparāgateṣu vākyeṣvanyāpekṣātīvāsaktaḥ san ahaṁ yihūdidharmmate mama samavayaskān bahūn svajātīyān atyaśayi|
15 When the one having separated me, from the womb of my mother, and called me through his grace, was pleased
kiñca ya īśvaro mātṛgarbhasthaṁ māṁ pṛthak kṛtvā svīyānugraheṇāhūtavān
16 to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
sa yadā mayi svaputraṁ prakāśituṁ bhinnadeśīyānāṁ samīpe bhayā taṁ ghoṣayituñcābhyalaṣat tadāhaṁ kravyaśoṇitābhyāṁ saha na mantrayitvā
17 neither did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.
pūrvvaniyuktānāṁ preritānāṁ samīpaṁ yirūśālamaṁ na gatvāravadeśaṁ gatavān paścāt tatsthānād dammeṣakanagaraṁ parāvṛtyāgatavān|
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Cephas, and remained with him fifteen days;
tataḥ paraṁ varṣatraye vyatīte'haṁ pitaraṁ sambhāṣituṁ yirūśālamaṁ gatvā pañcadaśadināni tena sārddham atiṣṭhaṁ|
19 but I saw no other of the apostles, except James the brother of the Lord.
kintu taṁ prabho rbhrātaraṁ yākūbañca vinā preritānāṁ nānyaṁ kamapyapaśyaṁ|
20 Which things moreover I write unto you, behold, before God, that I lie not.
yānyetāni vākyāni mayā likhyante tānyanṛtāni na santi tad īśvaro jānāti|
21 Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
tataḥ param ahaṁ suriyāṁ kilikiyāñca deśau gatavān|
22 But I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea which are in Christ.
tadānīṁ yihūdādeśasthānāṁ khrīṣṭasya samitīnāṁ lokāḥ sākṣāt mama paricayamaprāpya kevalaṁ janaśrutimimāṁ labdhavantaḥ,
23 But they were only hearing that The one persecuting us at one time is now preaching the faith which he was once desolating;
yo janaḥ pūrvvam asmān pratyupadravamakarot sa tadā yaṁ dharmmamanāśayat tamevedānīṁ pracārayatīti|
24 and they continued to glorify God in me.
tasmāt te māmadhīśvaraṁ dhanyamavadan|
