Colossians 3
1 If then ye are risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting on the right hand of God;
Ngakho-ke njengoba livuswe kanye loKhristu, bekani inhliziyo zenu ezintweni eziphezulu lapho uKhristu ahlezi khona esandleni sokunene sikaNkulunkulu.
2 think about those things above, and not things upon the earth.
Bekani ingqondo zenu ezintweni eziphezulu hatshi ezintweni zasemhlabeni.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God:
Ngoba lafa, ukuphila kwenu khathesi kufihlwe loKhristu kuNkulunkulu.
4 when Christ, your life, may appear, then will you also appear with him in glory.
Lapho uKhristu oyikuphila kwenu, ebonakala, lani futhi lizabonakala laye enkazimulweni.
5 Therefore kill your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry;
Ngakho-ke, kubulaleni konke okungokwemvelo yenu yasemhlabeni: okubalisa ukuhlobonga, ukungcola, inkanuko, izifiso ezimbi, ubuhwaba lokukhonza izithombe.
6 through which the wrath of God comes.
Ngenxa yalezizinto, ulaka lukaNkulunkulu luyeza.
7 In which you indeed at one time did walk about, when you lived in them:
Lalijayele ukuhamba kulezizindlela empilweni elake layiphila.
8 but you also lay aside all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, disgraceful talk out of your mouths:
Kodwa khathesi zilahleni zonke izinto ezinjengalezi: ulaka, ukuthukuthela, inzondo, ukunyeya lenkulumo ebolileyo.
9 lie not to one another, having laid aside the old man with his habits,
Lingaqambelani amanga njengoba selihlubule uqobo lwenu oludala lezenzo zalo
10 and having put on the new man, who is renewed into perfect knowledge according to the image of him who created him:
lembatha uqobo lwenu olutsha olwenziwa lube lutsha ekwazini ngomfanekiso kaMdali walo.
11 where there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bond, free: but Christ is all things, and in all.
Lapha akula oweZizwe loba umJuda, osokileyo loba ongasokanga, iqaba, umSikhethiya, isigqili loba okhululekileyo kodwa uKhristu uyikho konke njalo ukubo bonke.
12 Therefore, as elect of God, holy and beloved, put on affections of mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;
Ngakho, njengabantu bakaNkulunkulu abakhethiweyo, abangcwele labathandwa kakhulu, zembeseni ngesihawu, umusa, ukuzithoba, ubumnene kanye lokubekezela.
13 forbearing one another and forgiving one another, if any one may have a quarrel against any one; as Christ also forgave you, so indeed do you likewise:
Bekezelelanani, lithethelelane loba kuyinsolo bani omunye angaba layo ngomunye. Thethelelani njengoba iNkosi yalithethelela.
14 and in all these things put on divine love, which is the bond of perfection.
Phezu kwakho konke lokhu yembathani uthando olukubophela ndawonye konke lokhu, kube yikumanyana okupheleleyo.
15 And let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, in which you are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Ukuthula kukaKhristu kakubuse ezinhliziyweni zenu ngoba njengezitho zomzimba munye labizelwa ukuthula. Njalo bongani.
16 Let the word of God dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another, in all wisdom, in psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, with grace making melody in your hearts to God;
Ilizwi likaKhristu kalihlale phakathi kwenu ngokupheleleyo lapho lifundisana njalo liselulekana ngenhlakanipho yonke, ngamahubo, amaculo kanye lezingoma zakoMoya, lihlabelele lilokubonga uNkulunkulu ezinhliziyweni zenu.
17 and every thing whatsoever you may do, in word or in work, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Njalo kukho konke elikwenzayo, ngelizwi loba ngesenzo, konke kwenzeni ngebizo leNkosi uJesu, libonge uNkulunkulu uYise ngaye.
18 Ye wives, submit to your husbands as is becoming in the Lord.
Bafazi, zehliseni kubomkenu njengokufanele eNkosini.
19 Ye husbands, love your wives with divine love, and be not harsh towards them.
Madoda, thandani omkenu njalo lingabi lesihluku kubo.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord.
Bantwana, lalelani abazali benu ezintweni zonke ngoba lokhu kuyayithokozisa iNkosi.
21 Ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, in order that they may not be discouraged.
Bazali, lingabathukuthelisi abantwana benu hlezi badumazeke.
22 Ye servants, obey your masters according to the flesh in all things; not with eye-service, pleasing men, but of purity of heart, fearing the Lord.
Zigqili, lalelani amakhosi enu omhlaba ezintweni zonke; likwenze hatshi ngoba elikhangele loba ukuthi alithande kodwa ngobuqotho bezinhliziyo langokuhlonipha iNkosi.
23 Whatsoever you may do, work from your soul, as for the Lord, and not for men;
Konke elikwenzayo kusebenzeni ngenhliziyo yenu yonke njengokusebenzela iNkosi hatshi abantu,
24 knowing that you will receive the recompense of the inheritance from the Lord. Serve the Lord Christ;
njengoba lisazi ukuthi lizathola ilifa eNkosini njengomvuzo. YiNkosi uKhristu elimkhonzayo.
25 for the one doing wrong receives that for which he did the injustice: and there is no respect of persons.
Loba ngubani oyenza okubi uzaphindiselwa ngobubi bakhe njalo akula kubandlulula.
