Acts 8
1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And there was a great persecution in that day against the church in Jerusalem: and all were dispersed abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
ತಸ್ಯ ಹತ್ಯಾಕರಣಂ ಶೌಲೋಪಿ ಸಮಮನ್ಯತ| ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಸಮಯೇ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮ್ನಗರಸ್ಥಾಂ ಮಣ್ಡಲೀಂ ಪ್ರತಿ ಮಹಾತಾಡನಾಯಾಂ ಜಾತಾಯಾಂ ಪ್ರೇರಿತಲೋಕಾನ್ ಹಿತ್ವಾ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇಽಪರೇ ಯಿಹೂದಾಶೋಮಿರೋಣದೇಶಯೋ ರ್ನಾನಾಸ್ಥಾನೇ ವಿಕೀರ್ಣಾಃ ಸನ್ತೋ ಗತಾಃ|
2 And godly men buried Stephen, and made great mourning over him.
ಅನ್ಯಚ್ಚ ಭಕ್ತಲೋಕಾಸ್ತಂ ಸ್ತಿಫಾನಂ ಶ್ಮಶಾನೇ ಸ್ಥಾಪಯಿತ್ವಾ ಬಹು ವ್ಯಲಪನ್|
3 But Saul was laying waste the church, entering into the houses, and arresting men and women, he committed them to prison.
ಕಿನ್ತು ಶೌಲೋ ಗೃಹೇ ಗೃಹೇ ಭ್ರಮಿತ್ವಾ ಸ್ತ್ರಿಯಃ ಪುರುಷಾಂಶ್ಚ ಧೃತ್ವಾ ಕಾರಾಯಾಂ ಬದ್ಧ್ವಾ ಮಣ್ಡಲ್ಯಾ ಮಹೋತ್ಪಾತಂ ಕೃತವಾನ್|
4 Therefore indeed, being dispersed abroad, they went everywhere preaching the word:
ಅನ್ಯಚ್ಚ ಯೇ ವಿಕೀರ್ಣಾ ಅಭವನ್ ತೇ ಸರ್ವ್ವತ್ರ ಭ್ರಮಿತ್ವಾ ಸುಸಂವಾದಂ ಪ್ರಾಚಾರಯನ್|
5 and Philip, having gone down to the city of Samaria, was preaching Christ to them,
ತದಾ ಫಿಲಿಪಃ ಶೋಮಿರೋಣ್ನಗರಂ ಗತ್ವಾ ಖ್ರೀಷ್ಟಾಖ್ಯಾನಂ ಪ್ರಾಚಾರಯತ್;
6 And the multitudes were unanimously giving heed to the things spoken by Philip, while they were hearing and seeing the miracles which he was performing.
ತತೋಽಶುಚಿ-ಭೃತಗ್ರಸ್ತಲೋಕೇಭ್ಯೋ ಭೂತಾಶ್ಚೀತ್ಕೃತ್ಯಾಗಚ್ಛನ್ ತಥಾ ಬಹವಃ ಪಕ್ಷಾಘಾತಿನಃ ಖಞ್ಜಾ ಲೋಕಾಶ್ಚ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಾ ಅಭವನ್|
7 For many of those having unclean spirits, roaring with a loud voice, went out: and many paralyzed and lame were healed;
ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಲಾಕಾ ಈದೃಶಂ ತಸ್ಯಾಶ್ಚರ್ಯ್ಯಂ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮ ವಿಲೋಕ್ಯ ನಿಶಮ್ಯ ಚ ಸರ್ವ್ವ ಏಕಚಿತ್ತೀಭೂಯ ತೇನೋಕ್ತಾಖ್ಯಾನೇ ಮನಾಂಸಿ ನ್ಯದಧುಃ|
8 and there was great joy in that city.
ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ನಗರೇ ಮಹಾನನ್ದಶ್ಚಾಭವತ್|
9 And a certain man, by name Simon, was formerly practicing magic in the city, and bewitching the nation of Samaria, saying that himself was some great man:
ತತಃ ಪೂರ್ವ್ವಂ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ನಗರೇ ಶಿಮೋನ್ನಾಮಾ ಕಶ್ಚಿಜ್ಜನೋ ಬಹ್ವೀ ರ್ಮಾಯಾಕ್ರಿಯಾಃ ಕೃತ್ವಾ ಸ್ವಂ ಕಞ್ಚನ ಮಹಾಪುರುಷಂ ಪ್ರೋಚ್ಯ ಶೋಮಿರೋಣೀಯಾನಾಂ ಮೋಹಂ ಜನಯಾಮಾಸ|
10 to whom all from small even unto the great gave heed, saying, This one is the power of God, called Great.
ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸ ಮಾನುಷ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಮಹಾಶಕ್ತಿಸ್ವರೂಪ ಇತ್ಯುಕ್ತ್ವಾ ಬಾಲವೃದ್ಧವನಿತಾಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇ ಲಾಕಾಸ್ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಮನಾಂಸಿ ನ್ಯದಧುಃ|
11 And they gave heed to him, because for a long time he had deceived them with his magic arts.
ಸ ಬಹುಕಾಲಾನ್ ಮಾಯಾವಿಕ್ರಿಯಯಾ ಸರ್ವ್ವಾನ್ ಅತೀವ ಮೋಹಯಾಞ್ಚಕಾರ, ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ತೇ ತಂ ಮೇನಿರೇ|
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the gospel concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
ಕಿನ್ತ್ವೀಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ರಾಜ್ಯಸ್ಯ ಯೀಶುಖ್ರೀಷ್ಟಸ್ಯ ನಾಮ್ನಶ್ಚಾಖ್ಯಾನಪ್ರಚಾರಿಣಃ ಫಿಲಿಪಸ್ಯ ಕಥಾಯಾಂ ವಿಶ್ವಸ್ಯ ತೇಷಾಂ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಪುರುಷೋಭಯಲೋಕಾ ಮಜ್ಜಿತಾ ಅಭವನ್|
13 But Simon himself also believed: and being baptized, was constantly with Philip, both seeing the miracles and the great dynamites performed, was astonished.
ಶೇಷೇ ಸ ಶಿಮೋನಪಿ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೈತ್ ತತೋ ಮಜ್ಜಿತಃ ಸನ್ ಫಿಲಿಪೇನ ಕೃತಾಮ್ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ್ಯಕ್ರಿಯಾಂ ಲಕ್ಷಣಞ್ಚ ವಿಲೋಕ್ಯಾಸಮ್ಭವಂ ಮನ್ಯಮಾನಸ್ತೇನ ಸಹ ಸ್ಥಿತವಾನ್|
14 But the apostles in Jerusalem, having heard that Samaria has received the word of God, sent to them Peter and John:
ಇತ್ಥಂ ಶೋಮಿರೋಣ್ದೇಶೀಯಲೋಕಾ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಕಥಾಮ್ ಅಗೃಹ್ಲನ್ ಇತಿ ವಾರ್ತ್ತಾಂ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮ್ನಗರಸ್ಥಪ್ರೇರಿತಾಃ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ಪಿತರಂ ಯೋಹನಞ್ಚ ತೇಷಾಂ ನಿಕಟೇ ಪ್ರೇಷಿತವನ್ತಃ|
15 who, having come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost.
ತತಸ್ತೌ ತತ್ ಸ್ಥಾನಮ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಾಯ ಲೋಕಾ ಯಥಾ ಪವಿತ್ರಮ್ ಆತ್ಮಾನಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ನುವನ್ತಿ ತದರ್ಥಂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಯೇತಾಂ|
16 For he had not yet fallen on any of them: but they were only baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
ಯತಸ್ತೇ ಪುರಾ ಕೇವಲಪ್ರಭುಯೀಶೋ ರ್ನಾಮ್ನಾ ಮಜ್ಜಿತಮಾತ್ರಾ ಅಭವನ್, ನ ತು ತೇಷಾಂ ಮಧ್ಯೇ ಕಮಪಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ಪವಿತ್ರಸ್ಯಾತ್ಮನ ಆವಿರ್ಭಾವೋ ಜಾತಃ|
17 Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
ಕಿನ್ತು ಪ್ರೇರಿತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ತೇಷಾಂ ಗಾತ್ರೇಷು ಕರೇಷ್ವರ್ಪಿತೇಷು ಸತ್ಸು ತೇ ಪವಿತ್ರಮ್ ಆತ್ಮಾನಮ್ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ನುವನ್|
18 But Simon seeing that by the laying on of the hands of the apostles the Spirit was given, offered them money, saying,
ಇತ್ಥಂ ಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ಗಾತ್ರೇಷು ಪ್ರೇರಿತಯೋಃ ಕರಾರ್ಪಣೇನ ತಾನ್ ಪವಿತ್ರಮ್ ಆತ್ಮಾನಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಾನ್ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಸ ಶಿಮೋನ್ ತಯೋಃ ಸಮೀಪೇ ಮುದ್ರಾ ಆನೀಯ ಕಥಿತವಾನ್;
19 Give me this power, that on whomsoever I may lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
ಅಹಂ ಯಸ್ಯ ಗಾತ್ರೇ ಹಸ್ತಮ್ ಅರ್ಪಯಿಷ್ಯಾಮಿ ತಸ್ಯಾಪಿ ಯಥೇತ್ಥಂ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಿ ರ್ಭವತಿ ತಾದೃಶೀಂ ಶಕ್ತಿಂ ಮಹ್ಯಂ ದತ್ತಂ|
20 And Peter said to him, Thy silver be unto destruction with thee, because thou hast thought to obtain the gift of God with money.
ಕಿನ್ತು ಪಿತರಸ್ತಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯವದತ್ ತವ ಮುದ್ರಾಸ್ತ್ವಯಾ ವಿನಶ್ಯನ್ತು ಯತ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ದಾನಂ ಮುದ್ರಾಭಿಃ ಕ್ರೀಯತೇ ತ್ವಮಿತ್ಥಂ ಬುದ್ಧವಾನ್;
21 There is neither part nor lot to thee in this word: for thy heart is not right before God.
ಈಶ್ವರಾಯ ತಾವನ್ತಃಕರಣಂ ಸರಲಂ ನಹಿ, ತಸ್ಮಾದ್ ಅತ್ರ ತವಾಂಶೋಽಧಿಕಾರಶ್ಚ ಕೋಪಿ ನಾಸ್ತಿ|
22 Therefore repent of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if perchance the thought of thy heart shall be forgiven thee;
ಅತ ಏತತ್ಪಾಪಹೇತೋಃ ಖೇದಾನ್ವಿತಃ ಸನ್ ಕೇನಾಪಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರೇಣ ತವ ಮನಸ ಏತಸ್ಯಾಃ ಕುಕಲ್ಪನಾಯಾಃ ಕ್ಷಮಾ ಭವತಿ, ಏತದರ್ಥಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರೇ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾಂ ಕುರು;
23 for I see thou art in the gall of bitterness and the bond of iniquity.
ಯತಸ್ತ್ವಂ ತಿಕ್ತಪಿತ್ತೇ ಪಾಪಸ್ಯ ಬನ್ಧನೇ ಚ ಯದಸಿ ತನ್ಮಯಾ ಬುದ್ಧಮ್|
24 And Simon responding said, You pray to the Lord for me, in order that none of these things of which you have spoken may come upon me.
ತದಾ ಶಿಮೋನ್ ಅಕಥಯತ್ ತರ್ಹಿ ಯುವಾಭ್ಯಾಮುದಿತಾ ಕಥಾ ಮಯಿ ಯಥಾ ನ ಫಲತಿ ತದರ್ಥಂ ಯುವಾಂ ಮನ್ನಿಮಿತ್ತಂ ಪ್ರಭೌ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾಂ ಕುರುತಂ|
25 Then indeed, witnessing and speaking the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.
ಅನೇನ ಪ್ರಕಾರೇಣ ತೌ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಂ ದತ್ತ್ವಾ ಪ್ರಭೋಃ ಕಥಾಂ ಪ್ರಚಾರಯನ್ತೌ ಶೋಮಿರೋಣೀಯಾನಾಮ್ ಅನೇಕಗ್ರಾಮೇಷು ಸುಸಂವಾದಞ್ಚ ಪ್ರಚಾರಯನ್ತೌ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮ್ನಗರಂ ಪರಾವೃತ್ಯ ಗತೌ|
26 And the angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise, and go towards the south unto the way going down from Jerusalem to Gaza; the same is desert.
ತತಃ ಪರಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ದೂತಃ ಫಿಲಿಪಮ್ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಶತ್, ತ್ವಮುತ್ಥಾಯ ದಕ್ಷಿಣಸ್ಯಾಂ ದಿಶಿ ಯೋ ಮಾರ್ಗೋ ಪ್ರಾನ್ತರಸ್ಯ ಮಧ್ಯೇನ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮೋ ಽಸಾನಗರಂ ಯಾತಿ ತಂ ಮಾರ್ಗಂ ಗಚ್ಛ|
27 And rising up, he departed. And, behold, an Ethiopian man, a eunuch, an officer of Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasury, had been to Jerusalem to worship,
ತತಃ ಸ ಉತ್ಥಾಯ ಗತವಾನ್; ತದಾ ಕನ್ದಾಕೀನಾಮ್ನಃ ಕೂಶ್ಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ರಾಜ್ಞ್ಯಾಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವಸಮ್ಪತ್ತೇರಧೀಶಃ ಕೂಶದೇಶೀಯ ಏಕಃ ಷಣ್ಡೋ ಭಜನಾರ್ಥಂ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮ್ನಗರಮ್ ಆಗತ್ಯ
28 and was returning, and sitting upon his chariot he was reading the prophet Isaiah.
ಪುನರಪಿ ರಥಮಾರುಹ್ಯ ಯಿಶಯಿಯನಾಮ್ನೋ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನೋ ಗ್ರನ್ಥಂ ಪಠನ್ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಾಗಚ್ಛತಿ|
29 And the Spirit said to Philip, Go, and join yourself to that chariot.
ಏತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಸಮಯೇ ಆತ್ಮಾ ಫಿಲಿಪಮ್ ಅವದತ್, ತ್ವಮ್ ರಥಸ್ಯ ಸಮೀಪಂ ಗತ್ವಾ ತೇನ ಸಾರ್ದ್ಧಂ ಮಿಲ|
30 And Philip running forth, heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said; Whether do you understand what you are reading?
ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸ ಧಾವನ್ ತಸ್ಯ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾವುಪಸ್ಥಾಯ ತೇನ ಪಠ್ಯಮಾನಂ ಯಿಶಯಿಯಥವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನೋ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಪೃಷ್ಟವಾನ್ ಯತ್ ಪಠಸಿ ತತ್ ಕಿಂ ಬುಧ್ಯಸೇ?
31 And he said, How could I, unless some one shall guide me? And he called upon Philip coming up, to sit with him;
ತತಃ ಸ ಕಥಿತವಾನ್ ಕೇನಚಿನ್ನ ಬೋಧಿತೋಹಂ ಕಥಂ ಬುಧ್ಯೇಯ? ತತಃ ಸ ಫಿಲಿಪಂ ರಥಮಾರೋಢುಂ ಸ್ವೇನ ಸಾರ್ದ್ಧಮ್ ಉಪವೇಷ್ಟುಞ್ಚ ನ್ಯವೇದಯತ್|
32 and the place of the scripture which he was reading was this, He was led like a sheep to the slaughter; and as a lamb before the one shearing him is dumb, so he opens not his mouth.
ಸ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಸ್ಯೇತದ್ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ಪಠಿತವಾನ್ ಯಥಾ, ಸಮಾನೀಯತ ಘಾತಾಯ ಸ ಯಥಾ ಮೇಷಶಾವಕಃ| ಲೋಮಚ್ಛೇದಕಸಾಕ್ಷಾಚ್ಚ ಮೇಷಶ್ಚ ನೀರವೋ ಯಥಾ| ಆಬಧ್ಯ ವದನಂ ಸ್ವೀಯಂ ತಥಾ ಸ ಸಮತಿಷ್ಠತ|
33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare His generation? because his life is taken from the earth.
ಅನ್ಯಾಯೇನ ವಿಚಾರೇಣ ಸ ಉಚ್ಛಿನ್ನೋ ಽಭವತ್ ತದಾ| ತತ್ಕಾಲೀನಮನುಷ್ಯಾನ್ ಕೋ ಜನೋ ವರ್ಣಯಿತುಂ ಕ್ಷಮಃ| ಯತೋ ಜೀವನ್ನೃಣಾಂ ದೇಶಾತ್ ಸ ಉಚ್ಛಿನ್ನೋ ಽಭವತ್ ಧ್ರುವಂ|
34 And the eunuch responding to Philip, said, I pray thee, concerning whom does the prophet speak this? concerning himself, or some other man?
ಅನನ್ತರಂ ಸ ಫಿಲಿಪಮ್ ಅವದತ್ ನಿವೇದಯಾಮಿ, ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದೀ ಯಾಮಿಮಾಂ ಕಥಾಂ ಕಥಯಾಮಾಸ ಸ ಕಿಂ ಸ್ವಸ್ಮಿನ್ ವಾ ಕಸ್ಮಿಂಶ್ಚಿದ್ ಅನ್ಯಸ್ಮಿನ್?
35 Philip opening his mouth, and beginning from the same scripture, preached Jesus to him.
ತತಃ ಫಿಲಿಪಸ್ತತ್ಪ್ರಕರಣಮ್ ಆರಭ್ಯ ಯೀಶೋರುಪಾಖ್ಯಾನಂ ತಸ್ಯಾಗ್ರೇ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತೌತ್|
36 And while they were journeying along the road, they came to a certain water: and the eunuch says, Behold water; what doth hinder me from being baptized?
ಇತ್ಥಂ ಮಾರ್ಗೇಣ ಗಚ್ಛನ್ತೌ ಜಲಾಶಯಸ್ಯ ಸಮೀಪ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತೌ; ತದಾ ಕ್ಲೀಬೋಽವಾದೀತ್ ಪಶ್ಯಾತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಾನೇ ಜಲಮಾಸ್ತೇ ಮಮ ಮಜ್ಜನೇ ಕಾ ಬಾಧಾ?
ತತಃ ಫಿಲಿಪ ಉತ್ತರಂ ವ್ಯಾಹರತ್ ಸ್ವಾನ್ತಃಕರಣೇನ ಸಾಕಂ ಯದಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಷಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ಬಾಧಾ ನಾಸ್ತಿ| ತತಃ ಸ ಕಥಿತವಾನ್ ಯೀಶುಖ್ರೀಷ್ಟ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಪುತ್ರ ಇತ್ಯಹಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಮಿ|
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they both came down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
ತದಾ ರಥಂ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಂ ಕರ್ತ್ತುಮ್ ಆದಿಷ್ಟೇ ಫಿಲಿಪಕ್ಲೀಬೌ ದ್ವೌ ಜಲಮ್ ಅವಾರುಹತಾಂ; ತದಾ ಫಿಲಿಪಸ್ತಮ್ ಮಜ್ಜಯಾಮಾಸ|
39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip; and the eunuch saw him no more: for he went on his way rejoicing.
ತತ್ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ ಜಲಮಧ್ಯಾದ್ ಉತ್ಥಿತಯೋಃ ಸತೋಃ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯಾತ್ಮಾ ಫಿಲಿಪಂ ಹೃತ್ವಾ ನೀತವಾನ್, ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಕ್ಲೀಬಃ ಪುನಸ್ತಂ ನ ದೃಷ್ಟವಾನ್ ತಥಾಪಿ ಹೃಷ್ಟಚಿತ್ತಃ ಸನ್ ಸ್ವಮಾರ್ಗೇಣ ಗತವಾನ್|
40 And Philip was found at Azotus: and going through he preached the gospel to all the cities, until he came to Caesarea.
ಫಿಲಿಪಶ್ಚಾಸ್ದೋದ್ನಗರಮ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಾಯ ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಕೈಸರಿಯಾನಗರ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಕಾಲಪರ್ಯ್ಯನತಂ ಸರ್ವ್ವಸ್ಮಿನ್ನಗರೇ ಸುಸಂವಾದಂ ಪ್ರಚಾರಯನ್ ಗತವಾನ್|
