Acts 20
1 After the uproar ceased, Paul, having sent for the disciples and exhorted them, bidding them adieu, departed to go into Macedonia.
Miután pedig megszűnt a háborúság, magához hívta Pál a tanítványokat, és tőlük búcsút véve elindult, hogy Macedóniába menjen.
2 And having come through those regions, and exhorted them with much speaking, he came into Greece;
Miután pedig azokat a tartományokat bejárta, és intette őket számos beszéddel, Görögországba ment.
3 and having remained three months, a plot rising against him from the Jews, when about to sail for Syria, he was of a mind to return through Macedonia.
Ott töltött három hónapot, és mivel a zsidók cselt szőttek ellene, amint Szíriába készült hajózni, úgy döntött, hogy Macedónián át tér vissza.
4 And Sopater the (son) of Pyrrhus, the Berean, and Aristarchus, the Thessalonian, and Secundus; and Gaius the Derbean, and Timothy; and Tychicus and Trophimus the Asiatics, accompanied him;
Ázsiáig pedig elkísérte őt a béreai Szópatér, a thesszalonikaiak közül pedig Arisztarkhosz, Szekundusz és a derbei Gájus, Timóteus és az ázsiaiak közül Tükhikosz és Trofimosz.
5 and these having gone in advance, awaited us in Troas;
Ezek előrementek, és megvártak minket Tróászban.
6 and we, after the days of unleaven bread, sailed from Philippi, and came to them into Troas within five days; where we spent seven days.
Mi pedig a kovásztalan kenyerek napjai után kieveztünk Filippiből, és elmentünk hozzájuk Tróászba öt nap alatt, ahol hét napot töltöttünk.
7 And on the first of the Sabbaths we being assembled to break bread, Paul spoke to them, being about to depart the following day, and continued his discourse till midnight:
A hét első napján pedig a tanítványok összegyűltek a kenyér megszegésére, Pál prédikált nekik, és mivel másnap el akart menni, a tanítást megnyújtotta egészen éjfélig.
8 and there were many lamps in the upper room, where we were assembled.
Abban a házban pedig elegendő lámpás volt, ahol összegyűltek.
9 Paul speaking more prolixly, there was a certain young man, Eutychus by name, sitting in the window, being borne down with deep sleep, completely relaxed by sleep, fell down from the third story, and was taken up dead.
Egy Eutikhosz nevű ifjú pedig az ablakban ült, mély álomba merült, mivel Pál hosszú ideig prédikált, elnyomta az álom, és leesett a harmadik emeletről, és holtan szedték föl.
10 And Paul, having come down, fell on him, and taking him in his arms said, Fear not; for his soul is in him:
Pál pedig lement, ráborult és magához ölelve ezt mondta: „Ne háborogjatok, mert a lelke benne van.“
11 and having come up, and broken the bread, and eaten, and talking a long time, until daydawn, thus he departed.
Azután fölment, megszegte a kenyeret, evett, és sokáig, egészen virradatig beszélgettek, s úgy indult el.
12 And they led up the boy alive, and were comforted exceedingly.
Az ifjat pedig élve hozták fel, és nagyon megvigasztalódtak.
13 But we, having come in advance to the ship, embarked for Assos, thence being about to take up Paul, for he had so commanded us, himself being about to go on foot.
Mi pedig előrementünk a hajóra, Asszoszba eveztünk, s ott akartuk fölvenni Pált, mert így rendelkezett, mert ő maga gyalog akart jönni.
14 And when he met us at Assos, taking him up, we came to Mitylene.
Mikor pedig Asszoszban összetalálkozott velünk, felvettük, és elmentünk Mitilénébe.
15 And thence having sailed away on the following day we arrived opposite Chios; and on the following day we touched at Samos, and on the next day we came into Miletus.
Onnan elhajózva, másnap eljutottunk Khiosz elé, a következő nap pedig áthajóztunk Számoszba. Trogilliumban megszálltunk, s másnap mentünk Milétoszba.
16 For Paul decided to sail by Ephesus, in order that it might not be necessary for him to spend the time in Asia: for he was hastening, if it might be possible for him to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.
Mert elhatározta Pál, hogy Efezus mellett elhajózik, hogy ne kelljen időt töltenie Ázsiában, mert sietett, hogy ha lehetséges, pünkösd napjára Jeruzsálemben legyen.
17 And having sent from Miletus into Ephesus, he called for the elders of the church.
Milétoszból azonban elküldött Efezusba, magához hívatta a gyülekezet véneit.
18 And when they came to him, he said to them, You know, that from the first day from which I came unto Asia, how I was with you all the time,
Amikor pedig odamentek hozzá, ezt mondta nekik: „Ti tudjátok, hogy az első naptól fogva, melyen Ázsiába jöttem, hogyan viselkedtem közöttetek az egész idő alatt,
19 serving the Lord with all humility, and tears, and temptations, which came upon me through the plots of the Jews:
szolgálva az Úrnak teljes alázatossággal, sok könnyhullatás és zaklatások között, melyeket a zsidók cselszövései miatt szenvedtem.
20 how I omitted nothing of those things which are profitable, that I should not declare unto you and teach you publicly and from house to house,
Semmitől sem vonakodtam, ami hasznos, hogy prédikáljak nektek, és tanítsalak titeket nyilvánosan és házanként,
21 witnessing both to Jews, and to Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
bizonyságot téve mind zsidóknak, mind görögöknek az Istenhez való megtérés, és a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztusban való hit felől.
22 And now, behold, I go to Jerusalem bound in spirit, not knowing the things which shall come upon me in it:
És most, íme, a Lélektől kényszerítve megyek Jeruzsálembe, nem tudva, mi vár ott énreám.
23 except that the Holy Ghost in every city witnesses to me, saying that bonds and tribulations await me.
Csak azt tudom, hogy a Szentlélek városonként bizonyságot tesz, hogy reám fogság és nyomorúság vár.
24 But I consider my life worthy of no consideration to myself, so as to finish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to bear testimony to the gospel of the grace of God.
De semmivel sem törődök, még az életem sem drága nékem, csakhogy elvégezhessem futásomat örömmel, és azt a szolgálatot, melyet vettem az Úr Jézustól, hogy bizonyságot tegyek az Isten kegyelmének evangéliumáról.
25 And now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I came preaching the gospel of the kingdom, shall see my face no more.
És most, íme, tudom, nem látjátok többé az én orcámat, egyikőtök sem, akik között jártam, prédikálva az Istennek országát.
26 Therefore I witness to you this clay, that I am pure from the blood of all men;
Azért bizonyságot teszek előttetek a mai napon, hogy én mindenkinek vérétől tiszta vagyok.
27 for I did not shrink to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
Mert nem vonakodtam, hogy hirdessem nektek az Istennek teljes akaratát.
28 Take heed to yourselves, and all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost has placed you shepherds, to shepherdise the church of God, which He bought with His own blood.
Viseljetek gondot azért magatokra és az egész nyájra, amelyben a Szentlélek titeket vigyázókká tett, az Isten anyaszentegyházának legeltetésére, melyet tulajdon vérével szerzett.
29 I know, that after my departure grievous wolves will rise up against you, not sparing the flock;
Mert én tudom azt, hogy távozásom után közétek gonosz farkasok jönnek, akik nem kedveznek a nyájnak.
30 and men from you yourselves will rise up, speaking perverse things, in order to lead away disciples after them.
Sőt magatok közül is támadnak férfiak, akik fonák dolgokat beszélnek, hogy a tanítványokat magukhoz vonzzák.
31 Watch therefore, remembering, that three years night and day I ceased not admonishing you with tears.
Azért vigyázzatok, emlékezve arra, hogy én három esztendeig éjjel és nappal meg nem szűntem könnyhullatással inteni mindenkit.
32 And now I commend you to God and the word of His grace, who is able to edify you, and give you an inheritance among all the sanctified.
Most pedig, atyámfiai, ajánlak titeket az Istennek és az ő kegyelme igéjének, aki felépíthet benneteket, és örökséget adhat nektek minden megszenteltek között.
33 I have not sought the silver, or gold, or raiment of any one;
Senkinek ezüstjét, vagy aranyát, vagy ruháját nem kívántam,
34 you yourselves know, that these hands did minister to my necessities, and those along with me.
sőt magatok tudjátok, hogy magam szükségleteiről, és a velem lévőkéről kezeim gondoskodtak.
35 I have shown you all things, that it so behooveth you laboring to assist the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Minden tekintetben megmutattam nektek, hogy ily módon munkálkodva kell az erőtlenekről gondot viselni, és megemlékezni az Úr Jézus szavairól, mert ő mondta: Jobb adni, mint kapni.“
36 And having said these things, putting down his knees along with them all, he prayed.
Mikor ezeket elmondta, térdre esve imádkozott velük együtt.
37 And the weeping of all was great, and falling on the neck of Paul, they continued to kiss him copiously,
Mindnyájan pedig nagy sírásra fakadtak, Pálnak nyakába borultak és csókolgatták őt.
38 being especially grieved at the word which he had spoken, that they were about to see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.
Kiváltképpen azon a szaván keseredtek el, amelyet mondott, hogy többé az ő orcáját nem fogják látni. Aztán elkísérték őt a hajóra.
