2 Peter 2
1 However there were indeed false prophets among the people, as there will also be false teachers among you, whosoever shall bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction.
| אך גם נביאי שקר היו בעם־ישראל, כשם שיהיו ביניכם מורי שקר. הם יתכחשו למשיח אשר קנה אותם בדמו, ובפיקחות ועורמה ילמדו אתכם תורות כזב. אנשים אלה יביאו על עצמם אסון פתאומי ונורא. |
2 And many will follow their impurities; through whom the way of truth will be slandered:
| רבים יאמינו לתורות הכזב שלהם שמתירות זנות וניאוף, ובגללם יגדפו אנשים את אמת האלוהים. |
3 and in their covetousness they will sell you with their soft speeches: unto whom judgment from olden time tarries not, and their destruction does not slumber.
| באהבת הבצע שלהם ינצלו מורי השקר את תמימותכם, יספרו לכם שקרים ויגזלו את כספיכם במרמה. אולם דעו לכם כי אלוהים גזר את דינם עוד לפני זמן רב, וקיצם הנורא קרוב! |
4 For if God spared not the angels who sinned, but having sent them down to hell, committed them to chains of darkness to be kept unto judgment; (Tartaroō g5020)
| אלוהים משלם לרשעים כגמולם; הוא לא חס אף על המלאכים שחטאו, אלא השליכם לגיהינום וכבל אותם במערות אפלות עד יום־הדין. (Tartaroō g5020) |
5 and spared not the old world, but delivered Noah the eighth person, the preacher of righteousness, brings the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
| אלוהים לא חס גם על הדורות הראשונים שחיו לפני המבול. הלא זוכרים אתם כיצד החריב את העולם כולו, בהביאו את המבול על דור הרשעים; הוא הציל רק את נוח ושבעת בני־משפחתו, משום שנוח האמין באלוהים והטיף למעשי צדקה. |
6 and having destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, with a catastrophe he condemned them, having put them forth as an example to those about to be ungodly:
| אלוהים החריב גם את סדום ועמורה; הוא הפכן לאפר ומחה אותן מעל פני האדמה. גורלן של ערים אלה הוא לקח ואזהרה לכל העתידים לבחור בדרך השחיתות והאבדון. |
7 and he delivered righteous Lot, being grieved by the deportment of the ungodly in their debauchery:
| אלוהים אמנם הפך את סדום ועמורה, אך הוא הציל את לוט משום שהיה אדם צדיק. לוט שמר על טוהר לבו, למרות שחי בין רשעים שהעציבו אותו מאוד בשחיתותם. |
8 (for the righteous man dwelling among them, by seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds: )
9 for the Lord knows how to rescue the godly out of temptations, and to keep the unrighteous unto the day of judgment enduring punishment:
| כשם שהציל אלוהים את לוט, כך הוא יכול להציל אתכם ואותי מהפיתויים הסובבים אותנו, ולגבי הרשעים – אלוהים ישמור את העונש שיעד להם, עד בוא יום־הדין. |
10 and especially those going after the flesh in the lust of pollution, and despising lordship. Audacious darers, blaspheming, they do not tremble at glories;
| אלוהים יחמיר במיוחד עם אלה שהולכים אחרי תאוות בשרם ובזים לכל שלטון וסמכות. אנשים אלה גאוותנים, אכזריים, אנוכיים, חצופים ומעזים לבוז גם לסמכות העליונה. |
11 where the angels, being greater in strength and power, do not bring a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord.
| אף המלאכים בשמים, שעולים עליהם בחשיבותם ובכוחם, אינם מאשימים בבוז על אלה לפני אלוהים. |
12 But these, like irrational animals having been born naturally for capture and destruction, blaspheming those things in which they are ignorant; in their own corruption they will indeed corrupt themselves;
| מורי שקר אלה עושים ככל העולה על רוחם, ולועגים לכל מה שאינם מבינים; הם דומים לבהמות טיפשות שנולדו רק כדי להילכד ולמות! אך אנשים אלה יאבדו בשחיתותם. |
13 receiving the reward of unrighteousness, esteeming pleasure which is in the daytime; luxury; spots and blemishes, swelling in their deceits, feasting along with you,
| בגלל רשעותם ובגלל הסבל שגרמו לאנשים רבים, יענישם אלוהים במלוא החומרה! אנשים אלה מתענגים על חיי הפריצות וההוללות שהם מנהלים לאור היום; הם בושה וכלימה לכם. הם גם מרמים אתכם בחייהם הכפולים – מחד הם ממשיכים לחטוא, ומאידך משתתפים בחגיגותיכם ובאסיפותיכם כאילו היו ישרים והגונים. |
14 having eyes full of an adulteress, and unable to cease from sin; beguiling unestablished souls: having a heart which has been made fat with covetousness; children of the curse:
| עיניהם נואפות ולעולם אינם שבעים ממעשי ניאוף. הם מפתים נשים קלות דעת, והרגילו את לבם לרדוף בצע. ארורים הם! |
15 leaving the straight way, they have wandered off, following in the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the reward of iniquity; and had the conviction of his own conscience:
| אנשים אלה סטו מהדרך הישרה ותעו כבלעם בן־בעור, אשר אהב את השכר שקיבל תמורת מעשיו המושחתים. |
16 the dumb workbeast having spoken with the voice of a man, rebuked the madness of the prophet.
| אך אתם ודאי זוכרים כי אתונו של בלעם פתחה את פיה בקול אדם, נזפה בו על רשעותו, ומנעה את מעשה השטות שעמד לעשות. |
17 These are fountains without water, and mists driven away by the storm, for which the blackness of darkness has been reserved.
| אנשים אלה הם כבארות מים יבשות, שמבטיחים הרבה ואינם מקיימים דבר; הם נסחפים כעננים בסערה. דינם נגזר להישאר באפלה לעולם ועד. (questioned) |
18 For speaking swelling words of vanity, in the lusts of the flesh they beguile with their impurities, those that have but partially escaped, who are still moving about in their delusion;
| הם מתפארים במעשי הרשע שלהם, ומנצלים חולשות בני־האדם ואת תאוות הבשר, כדי לצוד ולהחזיר לשורותיהם את האנשים שלא מזמן נמלטו מחיים מושחתים כאלה. |
19 promising them liberty, they themselves being the slaves of corruption: for to whatsoever any one has been subordinated, to this he has become enslaved.
| הם מבטיחים חופש, אך הם בעצמם עבדים לחטא ושחיתות; שהרי אדם הוא עבד למה ששולט בו. |
20 For if having escaped the pollutions of the world through the perfect knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and having again become entangled in these things, they are overcome, the last state has to them become worse than the first.
| אדם שנמלט מהשחיתות בעולם באמצעות אמונתו במשיח, אך כעבור זמן מתפתה ושב לחיי חטא וטומאה, מצבו חמור מזה שהיה לפנים! |
21 For it was better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment which has been delivered unto them.
| לאדם כזה מוטב שכלל לא ידע את דרך הצדקה, משיידע וייסוג מקיום המצוות הקדושות שנמסרו לו. |
22 It has happened unto them according to the old proverb, The dog having returned to his own vomit; and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire.
| אדם כזה מאמת את דברי המשל:”הכלב שב על קיאו, והחזיר עולה מן הרחצה להתגולל ברפש.“ |
