1 John 5
1 Every one believing that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God: and every one loving with divine love him who begat, also loves him who has been begotten of him, with divine love.
Umuntu wonke okholwayo ukuthi uJesu nguKhristu uzelwe nguNkulunkulu, njalo umuntu wonke othanda uBaba uyamthanda lomtanakhe.
2 In this we know that we love the children of God with divine love, when we love God with divine love and keep his commandments.
Sikwazi ngalokhu ukuthi siyabathanda abantwana bakaNkulunkulu: ngokuthanda uNkulunkulu sigcina imilayo yakhe.
3 For this is the divine love of God, that we may keep his commandments: and his commandments are not heavy:
Ukuthanda uNkulunkulu yilokhu: ukulalela imilayo yakhe. Njalo imilayo yakhe kayinzima,
4 because everything which has been born of God conquers the world: and this is the victory which has conquered the world, our faith.
ngoba umuntu wonke ozelwe nguNkulunkulu uwunqobile umhlaba. Lokhu yikunqoba okwehlule umhlaba, okuyikukholwa kwethu.
5 Who is the one conquering the world, except the one believing that Jesus is the Son of God?
Ngubani lowo onqoba umhlaba? Ngulowo kuphela okholwayo ukuthi uJesu uyiNdodana kaNkulunkulu.
6 He is the one having come through water and blood, Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood; the Spirit is the one who bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth.
Lo nguye oweza ngamanzi langegazi, uJesu Khristu kabuyanga ngamanzi kuphela, kodwa ngamanzi langegazi. Njalo nguMoya ofakazayo, ngoba uMoya uliqiniso.
7 Because there are three who are bearing witness,
Ngoba bathathu abafakazayo:
8 the Spirit and the water, and blood: and these three are one.
uMoya, lamanzi kanye legazi; njalo bobathathu laba bayavumelana.
9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: because this is the witness of God that he has testified concerning his Son.
Siyabamukela ubufakazi babantu, kodwa ubufakazi bukaNkulunkulu bukhulu ngoba yibufakazi bukaNkulunkulu abunikayo ngeNdodana yakhe.
10 The one believing on the Son of God has the witness in himself: the one not believing God has made him a liar; because he has not believed in the testimony which God has testified concerning his Son.
Lowo okholwayo eNdodaneni kaNkulunkulu ulobufakazi lobu enhliziyweni yakhe. Lowo ongamkholwayo uNkulunkulu umenze waba ngolamanga ngoba engabukholwanga ubufakazi uNkulunkulu abunike ngeNdodana yakhe.
11 And this is the testimony, that God has given unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios g166)
Ubufakazi lobo yilobu: UNkulunkulu usinike ukuphila okulaphakade njalo lokhu kuphila kuseNdodaneni yakhe. (aiōnios g166)
12 The one having the Son has the life; the one not having the Son of God has not the life.
Lowo oleNdodana yakhe ulokuphila; lowo ongelayo iNdodana kaNkulunkulu kalakho ukuphila.
13 I have written these things unto you, in order that you may know that you have eternal life; to those who believe on the name of the Son of God. (aiōnios g166)
Ngililobela lezizinto lina abakholwayo ebizweni leNdodana kaNkulunkulu ukuze lazi ukuthi lilokuphila okulaphakade. (aiōnios g166)
14 And this is the assurance which we have toward him, that, if we may ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
Silesiqiniselo lesi ekusondeleni kuNkulunkulu: ukuthi nxa sicela ulutho ngokwentando yakhe, uyasizwa.
15 And if we know that he hears us as to whatsoever we may ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked from him.
Nxa sisazi ukuthi uyasizwa loba kuyini esikucelayo siyakwazi ukuthi sesilakho esikucele kuye.
16 If any one may see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and he will give him life to those sinning not unto death. There is a sin unto death; concerning this I do not say that you may ask.
Lapho umuntu ebona umzalwane wakhe esenza isono esingakhokheleli ekufeni, kumele akhuleke, uNkulunkulu uzamnika ukuphila. Ngitsho kulabo abasono sabo kasikhokheleli ekufeni. Kulesono esikhokhelela ekufeni. Kangitsho ukuthi akhuleke ngaleso.
17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is sin not unto death.
Konke ukwenza okubi kuyisono, njalo kulesono esingakhokheleli ekufeni.
18 We know that every one who has been born of God, sins not; but the one having been born of God keeps himself, and the evil one does not touch him.
Siyakwazi ukuthi umuntu ozelwe nguNkulunkulu kaqhubeki esenza izono; lowo owazalwa nguNkulunkulu uyamvikela, loSathane kamthinti.
19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the evil one.
Siyakwazi ukuthi singabantwana bakaNkulunkulu kanye lokuthi umhlaba wonke ungaphansi kwamandla omubi.
20 But we know that the Son of God has come and has given unto us intelligence, that we know the truth. And we are in the true one, in his Son Jesus Christ; he is the true God, and eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Siyakwazi lokuthi iNdodana kaNkulunkulu yeza yasinika ukuqedisisa, ukuze siyazi yona eqotho. Njalo sikuye yena oqotho kanye laseNdodaneni yakhe uJesu Khristu. Yena unguNkulunkulu oqotho kanye lokuphila okulaphakade. (aiōnios g166)
21 Little children, keep yourselves from the idols.
Bantwana abathandekayo, xwayani izithombe.
