Zephaniah 2

1 Gather your selues, euen gather you, O nation not worthie to be loued,

۱ ای امتی که حیا ندارید فراهم آیید و جمع بشوید!

2 Before the decree come foorth, and ye be as chaffe that passeth in a day, and before the fierce wrath of the Lord come vpon you, and before the day of the Lords anger come vpon you.

۲ قبل از آنکه حکم نتاج بیاورد وآن روز مثل کاه بگذرد؛ قبل از آنکه حدت خشم خداوند بر شما وارد آید؛ قبل از آنکه روز خشم خداوند بر شما برسد.

3 Seeke yee the Lord all the meeke of the earth, which haue wrought his iudgement: seeke righteousnesse, seeke lowlinesse, if so bee that ye may be hid in the day of the Lords wrath.

۳ ‌ای جمیع حلیمان زمین که احکام او را بجا می‌آورید، عدالت را بطلبید وتواضع را بجویید، شاید که در روز خشم خداوندمستور شوید.

4 For Azzah shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon desolate: they shall driue out Ashdod at the noone day, and Ekron shalbe rooted vp.

۴ زیرا که غزه متروک می‌شود و اشقلون ویران می‌گردد و اهل اشدود را در وقت ظهر اخراج می‌نمایند و عقرون از ریشه‌کنده می‌شود.

5 Wo vnto the inhabitants of the sea coast. the nation of the Cherethims, the worde of the Lord is against you: O Canaan, the lande of the Philistims, I will euen destroye thee without an inhabitant.

۵ وای بر امت کریتیان که بر ساحل دریا ساکنند. ای کنعان‌ای زمین فلسطینیان کلام خداوند به ضدشما است و من تو را چنان هلاک می‌کنم که کسی در تو ساکن نخواهد بود،

6 And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cotages for shepheardes and sheepefoldes.

۶ و ساحل دریا موضع مرتع های شبانان و آغلهای گوسفندان خواهدبود،

7 And that coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Iudah, to feede thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lodge toward night: for the Lord their God shall visite them, and turne away their captiuitie.

۷ و ساحل دریا برای بقیه خاندان یهوداخواهد بود تا در آن بچرند. شبگاهان در خانه های اشقلون خواهند خوابید زیرا یهوه خدایشان از ایشان تفقد نموده، اسیران ایشان را باز خواهدآورد.

8 I haue heard the reproch of Moab, and the rebukes of the children of Ammon, whereby they vpbraided my people, and magnified themselues against their borders.

۸ ملامت موآب و سرزنش بنی عمون راشنیدم که چگونه قوم مرا ملامت می‌کنند و برسرحد ایشان فخر می‌نمایند.

9 Therefore, as I liue, saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall bee as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorah, euen the breeding of nettels and salt pittes, and a perpetuall desolation: the residue of my folke shall spoyle them, and the remnant of my people shall possesse them.

۹ بنابراین، یهوه صبایوت خدای اسرائیل می‌گوید: به حیات خودم قسم که موآب مثل سدوم و بنی عمون مثل عموره خواهد شد. محل خارها و حفره های نمک و ویرانی ابدی خواهد شد. بقیه قوم من آنهارا غارت خواهند نمود و بقیه امت من ایشان را به تصرف خواهند‌آورد.

10 This shall they haue for their pride, because they haue reproched and magnified themselues against the Lord of hostes people.

۱۰ این به‌سبب تکبر ایشان بر ایشان وارد خواهد آمد زیرا که قوم یهوه صبایوت را ملامت نموده، بر ایشان فخر کردند.

11 The Lord will be terrible vnto them: for he wil consume all the gods of the earth, and euery man shall worship him from his place, euen all the yles of the heathen.

۱۱ پس خداوند به ضد ایشان مهیب خواهد بودزیرا که تمامی خدایان جهان را زایل خواهدساخت و جمیع جزایر امت‌ها هر کدام از جای خود او را عبادت خواهند کرد.

12 Ye Morians also shalbe slaine by my sword with them.

۱۲ و شما نیز‌ای حبشیان به شمشیر من کشته خواهید شد.

13 And he wil stretch out his hand against the North, and destroy Asshur, and will make Nineueh desolate, and waste like a wildernesse.

۱۳ و دست خود را بر زمین شمال دراز کرده، آشور را هلاک خواهد کرد و نینوی را به ویرانی وبه زمین خشک مثل بیابان مبدل خواهد نمود.

14 And flockes shall lie in the middes of her, and all the beastes of the nations, and the pelicane, and the owle shall abide in the vpper postes of it: the voyce of birdes shall sing in the windowes, and desolations shalbe vpon the postes: for the cedars are vncouered.

۱۴ وگله‌ها و تمامی حیوانات امت‌ها در میانش خواهند خوابید و مرغ سقا و خارپشت برتاجهای ستونهایش منزل خواهند گرفت و آوازسراینده از پنجره هایش مسموع خواهد شد وخرابی بر آستانه هایش خواهد بود زیرا که چوب سرو آزادش را برهنه خواهد کرد.

15 This is the reioycing citie that dwelt carelesse, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none besides me: how is she made waste, and the lodging of the beastes! euery one that passeth by her, shall hisse and wagge his hand.

۱۵ این است شهر فرحناک که در اطمینان ساکن می‌بود و در دل خود می‌گفت: «من هستم و غیر از من دیگری نیست؛ من هستم و غیر از من دیگری نیست.» چگونه خراب شد! خوابگاه حیوانات گردیده است! هر‌که از آن عبور کند بر آن سخریه کرده، دست خود را خواهد جنبانید!
