Zechariah 1
1 In the eight moneth of the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo, the Prophet, saying,
En el octavo mes del año segundo de Darío, la Palabra de Yavé vino al profeta Zacarías, hijo de Berequías, hijo de Iddo:
2 The Lord hath bene sore displeased with your fathers.
Yavé estuvo muy airado contra sus antepasados.
3 Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne ye vnto me, saith the Lord of hostes, and I will turne vnto you, saith the Lord of hostes.
Ahora diles: Yavé de las huestes dice: Regresen a Mí, dice Yavé de las huestes, y Yo me volveré a ustedes.
4 Be ye not as your fathers, vnto whome the former prophets haue cried, saying, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne you nowe from your euill wayes, and from your wicked workes: but they would not heare, nor hearken vnto me, saith the Lord.
No sean como sus antepasados, a quienes los primeros profetas proclamaron: Yavé de las huestes dice: Regresen ahora de sus malos caminos y de sus malas obras. Pero no escucharon, ni me atendieron, dice Yavé.
5 your fathers, where are they? and doe the Prophets liue for euer?
¿Dónde están sus antepasados? ¿Viven los profetas para siempre?
6 But did not my wordes and my statutes, which I commanded by my seruants ye Prophets, take holde of your fathers? and they returned, and sayd, As the Lord of hostes hath determined to doe vnto vs, according to our owne wayes, and according to our workes, so hath hee dealt with vs.
Pero mis Palabras y mis Preceptos que ordené por medio de mis esclavos profetas, ¿no alcanzaron a sus antepasados? Entonces se convirtieron y dijeron: Como Yavé de las huestes se propuso hacer con nosotros a causa de nuestros procedimientos y de nuestras obras, así nos hizo.
7 Vpon the foure and twentieth day of the eleuenth moneth, which is the moneth Shebat, in the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo the Prophet, saying,
El día 24 del mes undécimo, que es el mes de Sebat, el año segundo de Darío, la Palabra de Yavé vino al profeta Zacarías, hijo de Berequías, hijo de Iddo:
8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding vpon a red horse, and hee stood among the mirre trees, that were in a bottome, and behinde him were there red horses speckeled and white.
Vi de noche, y ahí estaba un varón que cabalgaba sobre un caballo rojizo, el cual estaba entre los mirtos de la hondonada. Detrás de él había caballos rojizos, blancos y color canela.
9 Then sayd I, O my Lord, what are these? And the Angel that talked with me, sayde vnto me, I wil shew thee what these be.
Entonces dije: ʼadón mío, ¿para qué son éstos? Y el ángel que hablaba conmigo me contestó: Yo te mostraré para qué son éstos.
10 And the man that stood among the mirre trees, answered, and sayd, These are they whome the Lord hath sent to go through the world.
Y el varón que permanecía entre los mirtos respondió: Éstos son los que Yavé envió a recorrer la tierra.
11 And they answered the Angel of the Lord, that stood among the mirre trees, and sayd, We haue gone thorowe the world: and beholde, all the world sitteth still, and is at rest.
[Sus jinetes] informaron al Ángel de Yavé, que estaba entre los mirtos, y dijeron: Recorrimos la tierra, y ciertamente toda la tierra está tranquila y reposada.
12 Then the Angel of the Lord answered and sayd, O Lord of hostes, howe long wilt thou be vnmercifull to Ierusalem, and to the cities of Iudah, with whom thou hast bene displeased now these threescore and ten yeeres?
Entonces el Ángel de Yavé tomó la palabra: ¡Oh Yavé de las huestes! ¿Hasta cuándo no te compadecerás de Jerusalén y de las ciudades de Judá, contra las cuales estuviste airado estos 70 años?
13 And the Lord answered the Angel that talked with me, with good wordes and comfortable wordes.
Yavé respondió al ángel que hablaba conmigo buenas palabras de consolación.
14 So the Angel that communed with me, said vnto me, Crie thou, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I am ielous ouer Ierusalem and Zion with a great zeale,
Entonces me dijo el ángel que hablaba conmigo: Proclama: Yavé de las huestes dice: Tuve gran celo por Jerusalén y por Sion.
15 And am greatly angrie against the carelesse heathen: for I was angrie but a litle, and they helped forward the affliction.
Pero estoy muy airado contra las naciones confiadas, porque mientras estuve airado solo un poco, ellos promovieron el desastre.
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord, I wil returne vnto Ierusalem with tender mercie: mine house shall be builded in it, saith the Lord of hostes, and a line shall be stretched vpon Ierusalem.
Por tanto Yavé dice: Me volví a Jerusalén con compasión. En ella será edificada mi Casa, dice Yavé de las huestes, y el cordel de medir será tendido sobre Jerusalén.
17 Cry yet, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, My cities shall yet be broken with plentie: the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet chuse Ierusalem.
Proclama además: Yavé de las huestes dice: Otra vez rebosarán de prosperidad mis ciudades. Yavé volverá a consolar a Sion, y otra vez escoge a Jerusalén.
18 Then lift I vp mine eyes and sawe, and beholde, foure hornes.
Después alcé mis ojos, miré, y ahí estaban cuatro cuernos.
19 And I said vnto the Angel that talked with me, What be these? And hee answered me, These are the hornes which haue scattered Iudah, Israel, and Ierusalem.
Y dije al ángel que hablaba conmigo: ¿Qué hacen éstos? Y me respondió: Éstos son los cuernos que dispersaron a Judá, Israel y Jerusalén.
20 And the Lord shewed me foure carpenters.
Yavé me mostró cuatro artesanos.
21 Then said I, What come these to doe? And he answered, and said, These are the hornes, which haue scattered Iudah, so that a man durst not lift vp his head: but these are come to fray them, and to cast out the hornes of the Gentiles, which lift vp their horne ouer the land of Iudah, to scatter it.
Y yo pregunté: ¿Qué vienen a hacer éstos? Me respondió: Aquéllos eran los cuernos que dispersaron a Judá, de tal manera que nadie levantaba su cabeza. Pero éstos vinieron para hacerlos temblar y derribar los cuernos de las naciones que alzaron su cuerno contra la tierra de Judá para dispersarla.
