Zechariah 1
1 In the eight moneth of the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo, the Prophet, saying,
Im achten Monat, im zweiten Jahre des Darius, geschah das Wort Jehovas zu Sacharja, dem Sohne Berekjas, des Sohnes Iddos, dem Propheten [S. Esra 5,1;6,14; Neh. 12,16,] also:
2 The Lord hath bene sore displeased with your fathers.
Jehova ist heftig erzürnt gewesen über eure Väter.
3 Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne ye vnto me, saith the Lord of hostes, and I will turne vnto you, saith the Lord of hostes.
Und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht Jehova der Heerscharen: Kehret zu mir um, spricht Jehova [Eig. ist der Spruch Jehovas; so auch nachher] der Heerscharen, und ich werde zu euch umkehren, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen.
4 Be ye not as your fathers, vnto whome the former prophets haue cried, saying, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne you nowe from your euill wayes, and from your wicked workes: but they would not heare, nor hearken vnto me, saith the Lord.
Seid nicht wie eure Väter, denen die früheren Propheten zuriefen und sprachen: So spricht Jehova der Heerscharen: Kehret doch um von euren bösen Wegen und von euren bösen Handlungen! aber sie hörten nicht und merkten nicht auf mich, spricht Jehova.
5 your fathers, where are they? and doe the Prophets liue for euer?
Eure Väter, wo sind sie? und die Propheten, leben sie ewiglich?
6 But did not my wordes and my statutes, which I commanded by my seruants ye Prophets, take holde of your fathers? and they returned, and sayd, As the Lord of hostes hath determined to doe vnto vs, according to our owne wayes, and according to our workes, so hath hee dealt with vs.
Doch meine Worte und meine Beschlüsse, welche ich meinen Knechten, den Propheten, gebot, haben sie eure Väter nicht getroffen? Und sie kehrten um und sprachen: So wie Jehova der Heerscharen vorhatte, uns nach unseren Wegen und nach unseren Handlungen zu tun, also hat er mit uns getan.
7 Vpon the foure and twentieth day of the eleuenth moneth, which is the moneth Shebat, in the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo the Prophet, saying,
Am 24. Tage, im elften Monat, das ist der Monat Schebat [Vom Neumonde des Februar bis zum Neumonde des März, ] im zweiten Jahre des Darius, geschah das Wort Jehovas zu Sacharja, dem Sohne Berekjas, des Sohnes Iddos, dem Propheten, also: -
8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding vpon a red horse, and hee stood among the mirre trees, that were in a bottome, and behinde him were there red horses speckeled and white.
Ich schaute des Nachts, und siehe, ein Mann, reitend auf einem roten Rosse; und er hielt zwischen den Myrten, welche im Talgrunde waren, und hinter ihm waren rote, hellrote und weiße Rosse.
9 Then sayd I, O my Lord, what are these? And the Angel that talked with me, sayde vnto me, I wil shew thee what these be.
Und ich sprach: Mein Herr, wer sind diese? Und der Engel, der mit mir redete, sprach zu mir: Ich will dir zeigen, wer diese sind.
10 And the man that stood among the mirre trees, answered, and sayd, These are they whome the Lord hath sent to go through the world.
Und der Mann, der zwischen den Myrten hielt, antwortete und sprach: Diese sind die, welche Jehova ausgesandt hat, um die Erde zu durchziehen.
11 And they answered the Angel of the Lord, that stood among the mirre trees, and sayd, We haue gone thorowe the world: and beholde, all the world sitteth still, and is at rest.
Und sie antworteten dem Engel Jehovas, der zwischen den Myrten hielt, und sprachen: Wir haben die Erde durchzogen, und siehe, die ganze Erde sitzt still und ist ruhig.
12 Then the Angel of the Lord answered and sayd, O Lord of hostes, howe long wilt thou be vnmercifull to Ierusalem, and to the cities of Iudah, with whom thou hast bene displeased now these threescore and ten yeeres?
Da hob der Engel Jehovas an und sprach: Jehova der Heerscharen, wie lange willst du dich nicht Jerusalems und der Städte Judas erbarmen, auf welche du gezürnt hast diese siebzig Jahre?
13 And the Lord answered the Angel that talked with me, with good wordes and comfortable wordes.
Und Jehova antwortete dem Engel, der mit mir redete, gütige Worte, tröstliche Worte.
14 So the Angel that communed with me, said vnto me, Crie thou, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I am ielous ouer Ierusalem and Zion with a great zeale,
Und der Engel, der mit mir redete, sprach zu mir: Rufe aus und sprich: So spricht Jehova der Heerscharen: Ich habe mit großem Eifer für Jerusalem und für Zion geeifert,
15 And am greatly angrie against the carelesse heathen: for I was angrie but a litle, and they helped forward the affliction.
und mit sehr großem Zorne zürne ich über die sicheren [Zugl.: sorglosen, übermütigen] Nationen; denn ich habe ein wenig [O. eine kleine Weile] gezürnt, sie aber haben zum Unglück geholfen.
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord, I wil returne vnto Ierusalem with tender mercie: mine house shall be builded in it, saith the Lord of hostes, and a line shall be stretched vpon Ierusalem.
Darum spricht Jehova also: Ich habe mich Jerusalem mit Erbarmen wieder zugewandt; mein Haus, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, soll darin gebaut, und die Meßschnur über Jerusalem gezogen werden.
17 Cry yet, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, My cities shall yet be broken with plentie: the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet chuse Ierusalem.
Rufe ferner aus und sprich: So spricht Jehova der Heerscharen: Meine Städte sollen noch überfließen von Gutem; und Jehova wird Zion noch trösten und Jerusalem noch erwählen.
18 Then lift I vp mine eyes and sawe, and beholde, foure hornes.
Und ich hob meine Augen auf und sah: und siehe, vier Hörner.
19 And I said vnto the Angel that talked with me, What be these? And hee answered me, These are the hornes which haue scattered Iudah, Israel, and Ierusalem.
Und ich sprach zu dem Engel, der mit mir redete: Was sind diese? Und er sprach zu mir: Diese sind die Hörner, welche Juda, Israel und Jerusalem zerstreut haben.
20 And the Lord shewed me foure carpenters.
Und Jehova ließ mich vier Werkleute sehen.
21 Then said I, What come these to doe? And he answered, and said, These are the hornes, which haue scattered Iudah, so that a man durst not lift vp his head: but these are come to fray them, and to cast out the hornes of the Gentiles, which lift vp their horne ouer the land of Iudah, to scatter it.
Und ich sprach: Was wollen diese tun? [Eig. Was kommen diese zu tun?] Und er sprach zu mir und sagte: Jene sind die Hörner, welche Juda dermaßen zerstreut haben, daß niemand mehr sein Haupt erhob; und diese sind gekommen, um sie in Schrecken zu setzen und die Hörner der Nationen niederzuwerfen, welche das Horn gegen das Land Juda erhoben haben, um es zu zerstreuen.
