Zechariah 7
1 And in the fourth yeere of King Darius, the worde of the Lord came vnto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth moneth, euen in Chisleu,
Im vierten Jahre des Königs Darius erging das Wort Jahwes an Sacharja; am vierten Tage des neunten Monats, im Monate Kislew,
2 For they had sent vnto the House of God Sharezer, and Regem-melech and their men to pray before the Lord,
sandte die Familie des Elsarezer und Regem Melech samt seinen Leuten eine Gesandtschaft, um Jahwe zu begütigen,
3 And to speake vnto the Priests, which were in the House of the Lord of hostes, and to the Prophets, saying, Should I weepe in the fift moneth, and separate my selfe as I haue done these so many yeeres?
mit folgender Anfrage an die Priester, die zum Tempel Jahwes der Heerscharen gehören, und an die Propheten: Soll ich im fünften Monate weinen und fasten, wie ich nun schon so und so viele Jahre getan habe?
4 Then came the word of the Lord of hostes vnto me, saying,
Da erging das Wort Jahwes der Heerscharen an mich folgendermaßen:
5 Speake vnto all the people of the land, and to the Priests, and say, When ye fasted, and mourned in the fift and seuenth moneth, euen the seuentie yeeres, did ye fast vnto me? doe I approoue it?
Sprich zu dem ganzen Volke des Landes und zu den Priestern also: wenn ihr jeweilen im fünften und im siebenten Monate nun schon siebzig Jahre gefastet und geklagt habt, hat da euer Fasten wirklich mir gegolten?
6 And when ye did eate, and when ye did drinke, did ye not eate for your selues, and drinke for your selues?
Und wenn ihr eßt und trinkt, seid dann nicht ihr es, die essen, und ihr es, die trinken?
7 Should ye not heare the wordes, which the Lord hath cryed by the ministerie of the former Prophets when Ierusalem was inhabited, and in prosperitie, and the cities thereof round about her, when the South and the plaine was inhabited?
Sind nicht dies die Worte, die Jahwe durch die früheren Propheten predigen ließ, als Jerusalem noch bewohnt und in ungestörtem Frieden war samt seinen Städten rings um es her, und als der Süden samt der Niederung noch bevölkert war?
8 And the worde of the Lord came vnto Zechariah, saying,
Da erging das Wort Jahwes an Sacharja folgendermaßen:
9 Thus speaketh the Lord of hostes, saying, Execute true iudgement, and shewe mercy and compassion, euery man to his brother,
So spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen: “Übt Redlichkeit im Rechtsprechen und erweist einander Liebe und Barmherzigkeit!
10 And oppresse not the widowe, nor the fatherles, the stranger nor the poore, and let none of you imagine euil against his brother in your heart.
Bedrückt Witwen und Waisen, Fremde und Arme nicht und sinnt in eurem Herzen nicht Böses gegeneinander!”
11 But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their eares, that they should not heare.
Aber sie weigerten sich aufzumerken, und ihre Schulter sträubte sich gegen das Joch; sie machten ihre Ohren taub, daß sie nicht hörten,
12 Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, least they should heare the Lawe and the wordes which the Lord of hostes sent in his spirit by the ministerie of ye former Prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hostes.
und verhärteten ihre Herzen zu Diamant, daß sie die Weisung und die Worte nicht hörten, die Jahwe der Heerscharen durch seinen Geist, durch die früheren Propheten, gesandt hatte. Da brach bei Jahwe der Heerscharen ein gewaltiger Zorn aus,
13 Therefore it is come to passe, that as he cried, and they would not heare, so they cried, and I would not heare, sayth the Lord of hostes.
und gleichwie er gerufen, sie aber nicht gehört hatten, ebenso - sprach Jahwe der Heerscharen - sollen sie nun rufen, ohne daß ich höre.
14 But I scattered them among all the nations, whom they knew not: thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they layd the pleasant land waste.
Sondern ich will sie zerstäuben unter alle Völker, die ihnen vorher unbekannt waren, und das Land soll, nachdem sie es verlassen haben, eine Wüste werden, so daß niemand auf seiner Hin- oder Herfahrt es durchzieht. So verwandelten sie ein herrliches Land in eine Einöde.
