Zechariah 5

1 Then I turned me, and lifted vp mine eyes and looked, and beholde, a flying booke.

E io alzai di nuovo gli occhi, guardai, ed ecco un rotolo che volava.

2 And he said vnto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying booke: the length thereof is twentie cubites, and the breadth thereof tenne cubites.

E l’angelo mi disse: “Che vedi?” Io risposi: “Vedo un rotolo che vola, la cui lunghezza è di venti cubiti, e la larghezza di dieci cubiti”.

3 Then said he vnto me, This is the curse that goeth foorth ouer the whole earth: for euery one that stealeth, shalbe cut off aswell on this side, as on that: and euery one that sweareth, shall be cut off aswell on this side, as on that.

Ed egli mi disse: “Questa è la maledizione che si spande sopra tutto il paese; poiché ogni ladro, a tenor di essa, sarà estirpato da questo luogo, e ogni spergiuro, a tenor di essa, sarà estirpato da questo luogo.

4 I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thiefe, and into the house of him, that falsely sweareth by my Name: and it shall remaine in the middes of his house, and shall consume it, with the timber thereof, and stones thereof.

Io la faccio uscire, dice l’Eterno degli eserciti, ed essa entrerà nella casa del ladro, e nella casa di colui che giura il falso nel mio nome; si stabilirà in mezzo a quella casa, e la consumerà col legname e le pietre che contiene”.

5 Then the Angel that talked with me, went foorth, and said vnto me, Lift vp now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth foorth.

E l’angelo che parlava meco uscì, e mi disse: “Alza gli occhi, e guarda che cosa esce là”.

6 And I saide, What is it? And hee sayde, This is an Ephah that goeth foorth. Hee saide moreouer, This is the sight of them through all the earth.

Io risposi: “Che cos’è?” Egli disse: “E’ l’efa che esce”. Poi aggiunse: “In tutto il paese non hanno occhio che per quello”.

7 And beholde, there was lift vp a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the middes of the Ephah.

Ed ecco, fu alzata una piastra di piombo, e in mezzo all’efa stava seduta una donna.

8 And he said, This is wickednes, and he cast it into the middes of the Ephah, and hee cast the weight of lead vpon the mouth thereof.

Ed egli disse: “Questa è la malvagità”; e la gettò in mezzo all’efa, e poi gettò la piastra di piombo sulla bocca dell’efa.

9 Then lift I vp mine eyes, and looked: and beholde, there came out two women, and the winde was in their wings (for they had wings like the wings of a storke) and they lift vp the Ephah betweene the earth and the heauen.

Poi alzai gli occhi, guardai, ed ecco due donne che s’avanzavano; il vento soffiava nelle loro ali, e le ali che avevano eran come ali di cicogna; ed esse sollevarono l’efa fra terra e cielo.

10 Then saide I to the Angel that talked with me, Whither doe these beare the Ephah?

E io dissi all’angelo che parlava meco: “Dove portano esse l’efa?”

11 And hee saide vnto mee, To builde it an house in the lande of Shinar, and it shall be established and set there vpon her owne place.

Egli mi rispose: “Nel paese di Scinear, per costruirgli quivi una casa; e quando sarà preparata, esso sarà posto quivi al suo luogo”.
