Zechariah 5

1 Then I turned me, and lifted vp mine eyes and looked, and beholde, a flying booke.

Et de nouveau je levai les yeux et regardai, et voici un volume qui volait.

2 And he said vnto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying booke: the length thereof is twentie cubites, and the breadth thereof tenne cubites.

Et il me dit: Que vois-tu? Et je dis: Je vois un volume qui vole; sa longueur est de vingt coudées, et sa largeur de dix coudées.

3 Then said he vnto me, This is the curse that goeth foorth ouer the whole earth: for euery one that stealeth, shalbe cut off aswell on this side, as on that: and euery one that sweareth, shall be cut off aswell on this side, as on that.

Et il me dit: C'est la malédiction qui se promène sur tout le pays, et ensuite de laquelle, d'une part, tout voleur sera exterminé, et d'autre part, tout parjure sera exterminé.

4 I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thiefe, and into the house of him, that falsely sweareth by my Name: and it shall remaine in the middes of his house, and shall consume it, with the timber thereof, and stones thereof.

Je l'ai lancée, dit l'Éternel des armées, afin qu'elle entre dans la maison du voleur, et dans la maison de qui fait par mon nom de faux serments, qu'elle séjourne dans sa maison et la détruise toute, et son bois et ses pierres.

5 Then the Angel that talked with me, went foorth, and said vnto me, Lift vp now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth foorth.

Et l'ange qui parlait avec moi, parut et me dit: Lève donc les yeux et regarde! qu'est-ce qui sort là? Et je dis: Qu'est-ce?

6 And I saide, What is it? And hee sayde, This is an Ephah that goeth foorth. Hee saide moreouer, This is the sight of them through all the earth.

Et il dit: C'est l'épha sortant. Et il dit: C'est à cela qu'ils visent dans tout le pays.

7 And beholde, there was lift vp a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the middes of the Ephah.

Et voici, une masse de plomb fut soulevée, et il y avait dans l'épha une femme assise.

8 And he said, This is wickednes, and he cast it into the middes of the Ephah, and hee cast the weight of lead vpon the mouth thereof.

Et il dit: C'est l'Impiété. Et il la repoussa au dedans de l'épha dont il referma l'ouverture avec la masse de plomb.

9 Then lift I vp mine eyes, and looked: and beholde, there came out two women, and the winde was in their wings (for they had wings like the wings of a storke) and they lift vp the Ephah betweene the earth and the heauen.

Et je levai les yeux et regardai, et voici, deux femmes parurent: le vent était dans leurs ailes, et elles avaient des ailes comme des ailes de cigogne, et elles enlevèrent l'épha entre la terre et le ciel.

10 Then saide I to the Angel that talked with me, Whither doe these beare the Ephah?

Et je dis à l'ange qui parlait avec moi: Où emportent-elles l'épha?

11 And hee saide vnto mee, To builde it an house in the lande of Shinar, and it shall be established and set there vpon her owne place.

Et il me dit: Elles vont lui établir une demeure dans le pays de Sinear, et une fois consolidée, il y sera posé sur son piédestal.
