Zechariah 5

1 Then I turned me, and lifted vp mine eyes and looked, and beholde, a flying booke.

Puis je me retournai, et levai mes yeux pour regarder; et voici un rouleau volant.

2 And he said vnto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying booke: the length thereof is twentie cubites, and the breadth thereof tenne cubites.

Alors il me dit: Que vois-tu? Et je répondis: Je vois un rouleau volant, dont la longueur est de vingt coudées, et sa largeur de dix coudées.

3 Then said he vnto me, This is the curse that goeth foorth ouer the whole earth: for euery one that stealeth, shalbe cut off aswell on this side, as on that: and euery one that sweareth, shall be cut off aswell on this side, as on that.

Et il me dit: C'est là l'exécration du serment qui sort sur le dessus de toute la terre; car quiconque d'entre ce [peuple-ci] dérobe, sera puni comme elle; et quiconque d'entre ce [peuple]-ci jure, sera puni comme elle.

4 I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thiefe, and into the house of him, that falsely sweareth by my Name: and it shall remaine in the middes of his house, and shall consume it, with the timber thereof, and stones thereof.

Je déploierai cette exécration, dit l'Eternel des armées, et elle entrera dans la maison du larron, et dans la maison de celui qui jure [faussement] par mon Nom, et elle logera au milieu de leur maison, et la consumera avec son bois et ses pierres.

5 Then the Angel that talked with me, went foorth, and said vnto me, Lift vp now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth foorth.

Et l'Ange qui parlait avec moi sortit, et me dit: Lève maintenant tes yeux, et regarde ce qui sort.

6 And I saide, What is it? And hee sayde, This is an Ephah that goeth foorth. Hee saide moreouer, This is the sight of them through all the earth.

Et je dis: Qu'est-ce? Et il [répondit]: C'est un Epha qui sort dehors. Puis il dit: C'est l'œil que j'ai sur eux par toute la terre.

7 And beholde, there was lift vp a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the middes of the Ephah.

Et voici, on portait une masse de plomb, et une femme était assise au milieu de l'Epha.

8 And he said, This is wickednes, and he cast it into the middes of the Ephah, and hee cast the weight of lead vpon the mouth thereof.

Et il dit: C'est là la méchanceté; puis il la jeta au milieu de l'Epha, et mit la masse de plomb sur son ouverture.

9 Then lift I vp mine eyes, and looked: and beholde, there came out two women, and the winde was in their wings (for they had wings like the wings of a storke) and they lift vp the Ephah betweene the earth and the heauen.

Puis levant mes yeux, je regardai, et voici deux femmes qui sortaient, et le vent soufflait dans leurs ailes; or elles avaient des ailes comme les ailes d'une cigogne; et elles enlevèrent l'Epha entre la terre et les cieux.

10 Then saide I to the Angel that talked with me, Whither doe these beare the Ephah?

Et je dis à l'Ange qui parlait avec moi: Où emportent-elles l'Epha?

11 And hee saide vnto mee, To builde it an house in the lande of Shinar, and it shall be established and set there vpon her owne place.

Et il me répondit: C'est pour lui bâtir une maison au pays de Sinhar laquelle étant établie, il sera là posé sur sa base.
