Zechariah 1
1 In the eight moneth of the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo, the Prophet, saying,
দারিয়াবসের রাজত্বের দ্বিতীয় বছরের অষ্টম মাসে, সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য বেরিখিয়ের ছেলে ভাববাদী সখরিয়ের কাছে এল, বেরিখিয় ছিল ইদ্দোর ছেলে।
2 The Lord hath bene sore displeased with your fathers.
“সদাপ্রভু তোমার পূর্বপুরুষদের উপর ভীষণ রেগে ছিলেন।
3 Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne ye vnto me, saith the Lord of hostes, and I will turne vnto you, saith the Lord of hostes.
অতএব লোকদের বলো, সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন ‘আমার দিকে ফেরো,’ সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু ঘোষণা করেন, ‘আর আমিও তোমাদের দিকে ফিরব,’ সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
4 Be ye not as your fathers, vnto whome the former prophets haue cried, saying, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne you nowe from your euill wayes, and from your wicked workes: but they would not heare, nor hearken vnto me, saith the Lord.
তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের মতো হোয়ো না, যাদের কাছে আগেকার ভাববাদীরা ঘোষণা করেছিল সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন ‘তোমাদের মন্দ পথ এবং তোমাদের মন্দ অভ্যাস থেকে ফেরো।’ কিন্তু তারা আমার কথা শোনেনি বা মনোযোগ দেয়নি, এই কথা সদাপ্রভু ঘোষণা করেন।
5 your fathers, where are they? and doe the Prophets liue for euer?
তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা এখন কোথায়? তারা এবং ভাববাদীরা কি চিরকাল বেঁচে থাকে?
6 But did not my wordes and my statutes, which I commanded by my seruants ye Prophets, take holde of your fathers? and they returned, and sayd, As the Lord of hostes hath determined to doe vnto vs, according to our owne wayes, and according to our workes, so hath hee dealt with vs.
কিন্তু আমি আমার দাস ভাববাদীদের যেসব আদেশ দিয়েছিলাম, আমার সেই বাক্য এবং আদেশ অনুসারে কি তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা করেনি? “তখন তারা মন ফিরিয়ে বলেছিল, ‘সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু আমাদের পথ এবং অভ্যাসের জন্য যা প্রাপ্য তাই তিনি আমাদের প্রতি করেছেন, যেমন তিনি করতে মনস্থির করেছিলেন।’”
7 Vpon the foure and twentieth day of the eleuenth moneth, which is the moneth Shebat, in the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo the Prophet, saying,
দারিয়াবসের রাজত্বের দ্বিতীয় বছরের এগারো মাসের, অর্থাৎ শবাট মাসের, চব্বিশ দিনের দিন সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য বেরিখিয়ের ছেলে ভাববাদী সখরিয়ের কাছে এল, বেরিখিয় ছিল ইদ্দোর ছেলে।
8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding vpon a red horse, and hee stood among the mirre trees, that were in a bottome, and behinde him were there red horses speckeled and white.
রাতের বেলায় আমি একটি দর্শন দেখলাম, এবং আমি দেখলাম একজন লোক একটি লাল ঘোড়ায় চড়ে আছে। সে একটি খাদের ভিতরে মেদি গাছগুলির মধ্যে দাঁড়িয়েছিল। তার পিছনে লাল, বাদামি এবং সাদা ঘোড়া ছিল।
9 Then sayd I, O my Lord, what are these? And the Angel that talked with me, sayde vnto me, I wil shew thee what these be.
আমি জিজ্ঞাসা করলাম, “হে আমার প্রভু, এগুলি কী?” যে স্বর্গদূত আমার সঙ্গে কথা বলছিলেন তিনি আমাকে বললেন, “সেগুলি কী তা আমি তোমাকে দেখাব।”
10 And the man that stood among the mirre trees, answered, and sayd, These are they whome the Lord hath sent to go through the world.
তখন যে লোকটি মেদি গাছগুলির মধ্যে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন তিনি ব্যাখ্যা করলেন, “সারা পৃথিবীতে ঘুরে দেখবার জন্য সদাপ্রভু এগুলিকে পাঠিয়েছেন।”
11 And they answered the Angel of the Lord, that stood among the mirre trees, and sayd, We haue gone thorowe the world: and beholde, all the world sitteth still, and is at rest.
আর সদাপ্রভুর যে দূত মেদি গাছগুলির মধ্যে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন তাঁকে ঘোড়াসওয়ারেরা বলল, “আমরা সারা পৃথিবীতে ঘুরে দেখলাম যে, সমগ্র জগতে সুস্থিরতা ও শান্তি বিরাজমান।”
12 Then the Angel of the Lord answered and sayd, O Lord of hostes, howe long wilt thou be vnmercifull to Ierusalem, and to the cities of Iudah, with whom thou hast bene displeased now these threescore and ten yeeres?
তখন সদাপ্রভুর দূত বললেন, “সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু, তুমি জেরুশালেম ও যিহূদার নগরগুলির উপর এই যে সত্তর বছর অসন্তুষ্ট হয়ে রয়েছ তাদের উপর আর কত কাল তুমি মমতা না করে থাকবে?”
13 And the Lord answered the Angel that talked with me, with good wordes and comfortable wordes.
তখন যে স্বর্গদূত আমার সঙ্গে কথা বলছিলেন সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে অনেক মঙ্গলের ও সান্ত্বনার কথা বললেন।
14 So the Angel that communed with me, said vnto me, Crie thou, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I am ielous ouer Ierusalem and Zion with a great zeale,
তখন যে স্বর্গদূত আমার সঙ্গে কথা বলছিলেন তিনি আমাকে বললেন, “তুমি এই কথা ঘোষণা করো: সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন ‘জেরুশালেম ও সিয়োনের জন্য আমি অন্তরে খুব উদ্যোগী হয়েছি,
15 And am greatly angrie against the carelesse heathen: for I was angrie but a litle, and they helped forward the affliction.
কিন্তু নিশ্চিন্তে থাকা জাতিগুলির উপরে আমি ভীষণ অসন্তুষ্ট হয়েছি। আমি কেবল অল্প অসন্তুষ্ট হয়েছিলাম, কিন্তু জাতিরা তাদের দুর্দশা আরও বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছিল।’
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord, I wil returne vnto Ierusalem with tender mercie: mine house shall be builded in it, saith the Lord of hostes, and a line shall be stretched vpon Ierusalem.
“অতএব, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘আমি জেরুশালেমকে মমতা করার জন্য ফিরে আসব, এবং সেখানে আবার আমার গৃহ পুনর্নির্মিত হবে। আর জেরুশালেম নির্মাণের জন্য মাপ নেওয়া হবে,’ সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু এই কথা ঘোষণা করেন।
17 Cry yet, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, My cities shall yet be broken with plentie: the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet chuse Ierusalem.
“আরও ঘোষণা করো: সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘আমার নগরগুলি আবার মঙ্গলে উপচে পড়বে, এবং সদাপ্রভু আবার সিয়োনকে সান্ত্বনা দেবেন এবং জেরুশালেমকে মনোনীত করবেন।’”
18 Then lift I vp mine eyes and sawe, and beholde, foure hornes.
তারপর আমি চোখ তুলে দেখলাম, আর সেখানে আমার সামনে চারটি শিং ছিল!
19 And I said vnto the Angel that talked with me, What be these? And hee answered me, These are the hornes which haue scattered Iudah, Israel, and Ierusalem.
যে স্বর্গদূত আমার সঙ্গে কথা বলছিলেন তাঁকে আমি জিজ্ঞাসা করলাম, “এগুলি কি?” তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “এগুলি সেই শিং যা যিহূদা, ইস্রায়েল এবং জেরুশালেমকে ছিন্নভিন্ন করেছে।”
20 And the Lord shewed me foure carpenters.
সদাপ্রভু তারপর আমাকে চারজন কারিগরকে দেখালেন।
21 Then said I, What come these to doe? And he answered, and said, These are the hornes, which haue scattered Iudah, so that a man durst not lift vp his head: but these are come to fray them, and to cast out the hornes of the Gentiles, which lift vp their horne ouer the land of Iudah, to scatter it.
আমি জিজ্ঞাসা করলাম, “এরা কী করতে আসছে?” তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “সেই শিংগুলি হল সেইসব জাতির শক্তি যারা যিহূদার লোকদের এমনভাবে ছিন্নভিন্ন করেছে যে, তারা কেউ মাথা তুলতে পারেনি, কিন্তু সেইসব জাতিকে ভয় দেখাবার জন্য ও তাদের শক্তি ধ্বংস করবার জন্য এই কারিগরেরা এসেছে।”
