Titus 3
1 Pvt them in remembrance that they bee subiect to the Principalities and powers, and that they bee obedient, and ready to euery good woorke,
Lembre a todos para obedecerem ao que os seus governantes e as autoridades mandam. Eles devem estar sempre preparados para fazer o que é bom.
2 That they speake euill of no man, that they be no fighters, but soft, shewing all meekenesse vnto all men.
Aconselhe as pessoas a não dizerem calúnias contra ninguém e a não serem questionadoras. Diga-lhes para serem gentis e boas com todos.
3 For wee our selues also were in times past vnwise, disobedient, deceiued, seruing the lustes and diuers pleasures, liuing in maliciousnes and enuie, hatefull, and hating one another:
Pois houve um tempo em que todos nós éramos tolos e desobedientes. Nós estávamos enganados e nos tornamos escravos de vários desejos e prazeres. A inveja preenchia nossa vida, e odiávamos uns aos outros.
4 But when that bountifulnesse and that loue of God our Sauiour toward man appeared,
Mas quando a bondade e o amor de Deus, nosso Salvador, foram revelados, ele nos salvou.
5 Not by the woorkes of righteousnesse, which we had done, but according to his mercie he saued vs, by the washing of the newe birth, and the renewing of the holy Ghost,
Ele fez isso não por causa de algo bom que tivéssemos feito, mas, sim, por causa de sua imensa misericórdia. Jesus fez isso ao nos purificar, mediante o poder regenerador do Espírito Santo.
6 Which he shed on vs aboundantly, through Iesus Christ our Sauiour,
E foi por meio de Jesus Cristo, nosso Salvador, que o Espírito Santo foi generosamente derramado sobre nós.
7 That we, being iustified by his grace, should be made heires according to the hope of eternall life. (aiōnios g166)
Agora que nos tornamos justos por sua graça temos a esperança de herdar a vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
8 This is a true saying, and these thinges I will thou shouldest affirme, that they which haue beleeued God, might be carefull to shewe foorth good woorkes. These things are good and profitable vnto men.
Você pode acreditar no que estou dizendo. E quero que você insista nesses ensinamentos, para que aqueles que creem em Deus pensem seriamente a respeito disso e continuem a fazer o bem. São conselhos ótimos e úteis, que servem para todos.
9 But stay foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and brawlings about the Lawe: for they are vnprofitable and vaine.
Evite discussões sem sentido e a preocupação com longas listas de nomes de antepassados. Não discuta e evite brigas em relação às leis dos judeus. Essas coisas são inúteis e não trazem benefício algum.
10 Reiect him that is an heretike, after once or twise admonition,
Se alguém causar divisão entre aqueles que têm fé, aconselhe essa pessoa uma ou duas vezes, mas, depois, não dê mais qualquer atenção a ela.
11 Knowing that hee that is such, is peruerted, and sinneth, being damned of his owne selfe.
Pois esse tipo de pessoa já se condenou, ao insistir na crueldade e no pecado.
12 When I shall send Artemas vnto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to mee vnto Nicopolis: for I haue determined there to winter.
Logo que eu enviar Ártemas ou Tíquico até você, tente vir me encontrar na cidade de Nicópolis, pois estou planejando passar o inverno lá.
13 Bring Zenas the expounder of the Lawe, and Apollos on their iourney diligently, that they lacke nothing.
Faça todo o possível para ajudar o advogado Zenas, e Apolo, para que eles tenham o que precisam para a viagem que farão.
14 And let ours also learne to shewe foorth good woorkes for necessary vses, that they be not vnfruitfull.
Que o nosso povo adquira o hábito de fazer o bem, ajudando os outros em suas necessidades diárias. Eles precisam ser produtivos!
15 All that are with mee, salute thee. Greete them that loue vs in the faith. Grace bee with you all, Amen. ‘To Titus, elect the first bishoppe of the Church of the Cretians, written from Nicopolis in Macedonia.’
