Titus 1
1 Paul a seruaunt of God, and an Apostle of Iesus Christ, according to the faith of Gods elect, and the acknowledging of the trueth, which is according vnto godlines,
ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാസനും യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ അപ്പൊസ്തലനുമായ പൗലോസ്, നമുക്കു പൊതുവായുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ എന്റെ യഥാർഥ പുത്രതുല്യനായ തീത്തോസിന്, എഴുതുന്നത്:
2 Vnto the hope of eternall life, which God that cannot lie, hath promised before the world began: (aiōnios g166)
നിനക്കു പിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നും നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷകനായ ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിൽനിന്നും കൃപയും സമാധാനവും ഉണ്ടാകുമാറാകട്ടെ.
3 But hath made his worde manifest in due time through the preaching, which is committed vnto me, according to the commandement of God our Sauiour:
ദൈവം തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തവർ വിശ്വസിക്കാനും ഭക്തിയിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്ന സത്യത്തിന്റെ പരിപൂർണജ്ഞാനം അവർക്കു ലഭിക്കാനുമായി നിത്യജീവന്റെ പ്രത്യാശ അവിടത്തെ വചനത്തിന്റെ പ്രഘോഷണത്തിലൂടെ അവർക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്താൻ നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷകനായ ദൈവം എന്നെ ഭരമേൽപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. (aiōnios g166)
4 To Titus my naturall sonne according to the common faith, Grace, mercie and peace from God the Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ our Sauiour.
ഈ പ്രത്യാശ വ്യാജംപറയാത്ത ദൈവം കാലാരംഭത്തിനു മുമ്പേ വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തതും നിയുക്തസമയത്ത് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതുമാണ്.
5 For this cause left I thee in Creta, that thou shouldest continue to redresse the thinges that remaine, and shouldest ordeine Elders in euery citie, as I appointed thee,
ഞാൻ കൽപ്പിച്ചപ്രകാരം ന്യൂനതകൾ പരിഹരിക്കാനും എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും സഭാമുഖ്യന്മാരെ അധികാരപ്പെടുത്താനും ആയിരുന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ക്രേത്തയിൽ വിട്ടിട്ടുപോന്നത്.
6 If any be vnreproueable, the husband of one wife, hauing faithfull children, which are not slandered of riot, neither are disobedient.
സഭാമുഖ്യൻ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവനും ഏകപത്നീവ്രതനും ആയിരിക്കണം. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾ വിശ്വാസികളും വഴിപിഴച്ചവർ എന്ന കുറ്റാരോപണമോ അനുസരണക്കേടോ ഇല്ലാത്തവരും ആകണം.
7 For a Bishop must bee vnreproueable, as Gods steward, not froward, not angrie, not giuen to wine, no striker, not giuen to filthie lucre,
അധ്യക്ഷൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കാര്യസ്ഥനാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് അദ്ദേഹം കുറ്റാരോപിതനായിരിക്കരുത്. ശാഠ്യബുദ്ധിക്കാരനും മുൻകോപിയും മദ്യാസക്തി ഉള്ളവനും അക്രമവാസനയുള്ളവനും അത്യാഗ്രഹിയും ആകരുത്.
8 But harberous, one that loueth goodnesse, wise, righteous, holy, temperate,
എന്നാൽ, അതിഥിയെ സൽക്കരിക്കുന്നവനും നല്ലതിഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവനും സ്വയം നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നവനും നീതിമാനും ഭക്തനും ജിതേന്ദ്രിയനും ആയിരിക്കണം അധ്യക്ഷൻ.
9 Holding fast that faithfull worde according to doctrine, that he also may bee able to exhort with wholesome doctrine, and conuince them that say against it.
നിർമലോപദേശംകൊണ്ട് മറ്റുള്ളവരെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കാനും അതിനെ എതിർക്കുന്നവരെ ഖണ്ഡിക്കാനും കഴിയേണ്ടതിന് തനിക്കു ലഭിച്ച വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യമായസന്ദേശം മുറുകെപ്പിടിക്കുന്നവനും ആയിരിക്കണം.
10 For there are many disobedient and vaine talkers and deceiuers of mindes, chiefly they of the Circumcision,
കാരണം, വായാടികളും വഞ്ചകരുമായ അനേകംപേർ ഉണ്ട്. അവർ നിയന്ത്രണവിധേയരല്ല. പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് പരിച്ഛേദനം ആവശ്യമെന്നു വാദിക്കുന്നവരാണിവർ.
11 Whose mouthes must bee stopped, which subuert whole houses, teaching things, which they ought not, for filthie lucres sake.
ഇവരെ നിശ്ശബ്ദരാക്കണം. കാരണം, അവർ അരുതാത്തത് ഉപദേശിച്ച് കുടുംബങ്ങളെ മുഴുവൻ തകിടംമറിച്ച് ലാഭേച്ഛയ്ക്കായി നടക്കുന്നവരാണ്.
12 One of themselues, euen one of their owne prophets said, The Cretians are alwaies liars, euill beastes, slowe bellies.
“ക്രേത്തർ നുണയരും മൃഗീയരും അലസരും അമിതഭക്ഷണപ്രിയരുമാണെന്ന്,” അവരിൽ ഒരാൾ—അവരുടെതന്നെ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ—പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
13 This witnesse is true: wherefore conuince them sharply, that they may be sound in ye faith,
ഈ സാക്ഷ്യം ശരിയാണ്. അവരെ ശക്തമായി ശാസിക്കുക. അവർ വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ സ്ഥിരപ്പെടേണ്ടതിനും,
14 And not taking heede to Iewish fables and commandements of men, that turne away from the trueth.
യെഹൂദ ഐതിഹ്യങ്ങൾക്കും സത്യത്തിൽനിന്ന് അകറ്റുന്നവരുടെ കൽപ്പനകൾക്കും ചെവികൊടുക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനും ആണിത്.
15 Vnto the pure are all things pure, but vnto them that are defiled, and vnbeleeuing, is nothing pure, but euen their mindes and consciences are defiled.
ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവർക്ക് എല്ലാം ശുദ്ധമാണ്. എന്നാൽ, അശുദ്ധർക്കും അവിശ്വാസികൾക്കും ഒന്നും ശുദ്ധമല്ല. അവരുടെ മനസ്സും മനസ്സാക്ഷിയും അശുദ്ധമാണ്.
16 They professe that they know God, but by works they deny him, and are abominable and disobedient, and vnto euery good worke reprobate.
അവർ ദൈവത്തെ അറിയുന്നെന്ന് വാദിക്കുന്നെങ്കിലും പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ അവിടത്തെ നിഷേധിക്കുന്നു. അവർ മ്ലേച്ഛരും അനുസരണയില്ലാത്തവരും യാതൊരു സൽപ്രവൃത്തിക്കും കൊള്ളരുതാത്തവരുമാണ്.
