Ruth 4
1 Then went Boaz vp to the gate, and sate there, and beholde, the kinsman, of whome Boaz had spoken, came by: and he sayd, Ho, snch one, come, sit downe here. And he turned, and sate downe.
Potem Boaz udał się do bramy i tam usiadł. A oto przechodził spokrewniony, o którym mówił Boaz. I powiedział do niego: Człowieku! Podejdź i usiądź tutaj. Tamten więc przyszedł i usiadł.
2 Then he tooke ten men of the Elders of the citie, and sayd, Sit ye downe here. And they sate downe.
Wtedy [Boaz] wziął dziesięciu starszych tego miasta i mówił do nich: Usiądźcie tutaj. I usiedli.
3 And he said vnto ye kinsman, Naomi, that is come againe out of ye countrey of Moab, wil sell a parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelechs.
I przemówił do tamtego spokrewnionego: Noemi, która wróciła z ziemi Moabu, sprzedaje kawałek ziemi, która [należała] do naszego brata Elimelecha.
4 And I thought to aduertise thee, saying, Buy it before the assistants, and before the Elders of my people. If thou wilt redeeme it, redeeme it: but if thou wilt not redeeme it, tel me: for I know that there is none besides thee to redeeme it, and I am after thee. Then he answered, I wil redeeme it.
I pomyślałem sobie, że należy cię o tym powiadomić tymi słowy: Kup [go] w obecności siedzących tutaj i starszych mego ludu. Jeśli chcesz go wykupić, wykup. Lecz jeśli nie chcesz go wykupić, powiedz mi, abym wiedział. Nikt bowiem nie ma [prawa] wykupu przed tobą, ja zaś jestem po tobie. Wtedy on odpowiedział: Ja wykupię.
5 Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou mnst also buy it of Ruth the Moabitesse the wife of the dead, to stirre vp the name of the dead, vpon his inheritance.
Boaz jeszcze dodał: W dniu, kiedy wykupisz pole z rąk Noemi, kupisz je [również] od Rut Moabitki, żony zmarłego, aby wzbudzić imię zmarłego na jego dziedzictwie.
6 And the kinsman answered, I can not redeeme it, lest I destroy mine owne inheritance: redeeme my right to thee, for I can not redeeme it.
Spokrewniony odpowiedział: Nie mogę [go] wykupić, żebym czasem nie poniósł szkody na własnym dziedzictwie. Ty wykup dla siebie moje prawo wykupu, gdyż [ja] nie mogę go wykupić.
7 Now this was the maner beforetime in Israel, concerning redeeming and changing, for to stablish all things: a man did plucke off his shooe, and gaue it his neighbour, and this was a sure witnes in Israel.
A taki był dawniej zwyczaj w Izraelu co do prawa wykupu i co do zamiany dla zatwierdzenia każdej sprawy: człowiek zdejmował swój but i dawał [go] swojemu bliźniemu. Było to poświadczeniem w Izraelu.
8 Therefore the kinsman sayd to Boas, Buy it for thee: and he drew off his shooe.
Wtedy ów spokrewniony powiedział do Boaza: Wykup je sobie. I zdjął swój but.
9 And Boaz sayd vnto the Elders and vnto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I haue bought all that was Elimelechs, and all that was Chilions and Mahlons, of the hand of Naomi.
Potem Boaz przemówił do starszych i całego ludu: Dziś jesteście świadkami, że nabyłem z ręki Noemi wszystko, co [należało] do Elimelecha, oraz wszystko, co [należało] do Kiliona i Machlona.
10 And moreouer, Ruth the Moabitesse the wife of Mahlon, haue I bought to be my wife, to stirre vp the name of the dead vpon his inheritance, and that the name of the dead be not put out from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.
Także Rut Moabitkę, żonę Machlona, nabyłem sobie za żonę, aby wzbudzić imię zmarłego na jego dziedzictwie, aby nie zginęło imię zmarłego wśród jego braci ani z bramy jego miejsca. Wy [jesteście] dziś [tego] świadkami.
11 And all the people that were in the gate, and the Elders sayd, We are witnesses: the Lord make the wife that commeth into thine house, like Rahel and like Leah, which twaine did build the house of Israel: and that thou mayest doe worthily in Ephrathah, and be famous in Beth-lehem,
I cały lud, który [był] w bramie miasta, oraz starsi powiedzieli: [Jesteśmy] świadkami. Niech PAN sprawi, aby kobieta, która wchodzi do twojego domu, [była] jak Rachel i jak Lea, które zbudowały dom Izraela. Postępuj godnie w Efrata i zdobądź [sobie] imię w Betlejem.
12 And that thine house be like the house of Pharez (whom Thamar bare vnto Iudah) of the seede which the Lord shall giue thee of this yong woman.
Niech twój dom – przez potomstwo, które PAN da ci z tej młodej kobiety – będzie jak dom Peresa, którego Tamar urodziła Judzie.
13 So Boaz tooke Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in vnto her, the Lord gaue that she conceiued, and bare a sonne.
Boaz wziął więc sobie Rut i stała się jego żoną. A gdy z nią obcował, PAN sprawił, że poczęła i urodziła syna.
14 And the women sayd vnto Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, and his name shalbe continued in Israel.
Wtedy kobiety powiedziały do Noemi: Błogosławiony PAN, który nie zostawił cię dziś bez spokrewnionego, aby jego imię było znane w Izraelu.
15 And this shall bring thy life againe, and cherish thine olde age: for thy daughter in lawe which loueth thee, hath borne vnto him, and she is better to thee then seuen sonnes.
On będzie pociechą dla twojej duszy i żywicielem w twojej starości. Urodziła go bowiem twoja synowa, która cię miłuje i która jest dla ciebie lepsza niż siedmiu synów.
16 And Naomi tooke the childe, and layde it in her lap, and became nource vnto it.
Wzięła więc Noemi dziecko, położyła je na swym łonie i była dla niego piastunką.
17 And the women her neighbours gaue it a name, saying, There is a childe borne to Naomi, and called the name thereof Obed: the same was the father of Ishai, the father of Dauid.
I sąsiadki nadały mu imię. Mówiły bowiem: Narodził się syn Noemi. I nadały mu imię Obed. On to jest ojcem Jessego, ojca Dawida.
18 These now are ye generations of Pharez: Pharez begate Hezron,
A oto potomkowie Peresa: Peres spłodził Chesrona;
19 And Hezron begate Ram, and Ram begate Amminadab,
A Chesron spłodził Rama, a Ram spłodził Amminadaba;
20 And Amminadab begate Nahshon, and Nahshon begate Salmah,
A Amminadab spłodził Nachszona, a Nachszon spłodził Salmona;
21 And Salmon begate Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,
A Salmon spłodził Boaza, a Boaz spłodził Obeda;
22 And Obed begate Ishai, and Ishai begate Dauid.
A Obed spłodził Jessego, a Jesse spłodził Dawida.
