Ruth 3
1 Afterward Naomi her mother in lawe said vnto her, My daughter, shall not I seeke rest for thee, that thou mayest prosper?
একদিন রূতের শাশুড়ি নয়মী তাকে বলল, “বাছা আমার, আমি কি তোমার জন্য এমন একটি ঘর দেখব না যেখানে তোমার জন্য যা কিছু প্রয়োজন সবকিছুই তুমি পেতে পারবে?
2 Now also is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maides thou wast? beholde, he winoweth barly to night in the floore.
বোয়স আমাদেরই পরিবারের লোক যাঁর দাসীদের সঙ্গে তুমি সারাদিন ছিলে। আজ রাতে তিনি খামারে যব ঝাড়াই করবেন।
3 Wash thy sellfe therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment vpon thee, and get thee downe to the floore: let not the man know of thee, vntill he haue left eating and drinking.
তাই তেল মেখে চান করো ও গায়ে আতর লাগাও এবং তোমার সব থেকে সুন্দর কাপড়টি পরে নাও। তারপর খামারে নেমে যাও, কিন্তু সাবধান, যতক্ষণ না বোয়স খাবার খেয়ে জলপান করছেন, ততক্ষণ তিনি যেন জানতে না পারেন যে তুমি সেখানে আছ।
4 And when he shall sleepe, marke the place where he layeth him downe, and go, and vncouer the place of his feete, and lay thee downe, and he shall tell thee what thou shalt doe.
যখন তিনি শুতে যাবেন, ভালো করে দেখবে তিনি কোথায় শুয়েছেন। ভিতরে গিয়ে তাঁর পায়ের চাদর সরিয়ে, তুমি তাঁর পায়ের তলায় শোবে। তখন তিনি তোমাকে কী করতে হবে তা বলে দেবেন।”
5 And she answered her, All that thou biddest me, I will doe.
রূত তার শাশুড়িকে উত্তর দিল, “আপনি আমাকে যা কিছু বললেন আমি তাই করব।”
6 So she went downe vnto the floore, and did according to all that her mother in lawe bade her.
তাই রূত খামারে নেমে গেল এবং তার শাশুড়ির কথামতো সবকিছু করল।
7 And when Boaz had eaten, and drunken, and cheared his heart, he went to lie downe at the end of the heape of corne, and she came softly, and vncouered the place of his feet, and lay downe.
যখন বোয়স খাওয়াদাওয়া শেষ করে খামারের এক পাশে কোনাতে শুতে গেলেন, তাঁর মন খুব খুশি ছিল। পরে রূত চুপিচুপি খামারের ভিতরে এল। তারপর বোয়সের পায়ের চাদর সরিয়ে, তাঁর পায়ের তলায় শুয়ে পড়ল।
8 And at midnight the man was afraide and caught holde: and loe, a woman lay at his feete.
গভীর রাতে যখন বোয়স পাশ ফিরলেন তিনি ভয়ে চমকে উঠলেন, তিনি দেখলেন যে একজন মহিলা তাঁর পায়ের তলায় শুয়ে আছে।
9 Then he sayd, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmayd: spread therefore the wing of thy garment ouer thine handmayd: for thou art the kinsman.
বোয়স তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “কে তুমি?” সে উত্তর দিল, “আমি আপনার দাসী রূত, আপনার দাসীর উপর আপনার চাদর ঢেকে দিন। কারণ আপনি আমাদের পরিবারের একজন মুক্তিকর্তা জ্ঞাতি।”
10 Then sayd he, Blessed be thou of the Lord, my daughter: thou hast shewed more goodnes in the latter end, then at the beginning, in as much as thou followedst not yong men, were they poore or rich.
বোয়স বললেন, “বাছা আমার, সদাপ্রভু তোমাকে আশীর্বাদ করুন। ধনী বা দরিদ্র কোনও যুবকের পিছনে না গিয়ে তুমি প্রথমে যে দয়া দেখিয়েছিলে তার থেকে এই দয়াটি মহৎ।
11 And now, my daughter, feare not: I will doe to thee all that thou requirest: for all the citie of my people doeth knowe, that thou art a vertuous woman.
এখন বাছা আমার, ভয় কোরো না। তুমি যা বলবে আমি তোমার জন্য তাই করব। কারণ এই নগরের সবাই জানে যে তুমি আদর্শ চরিত্রবিশিষ্ট এক মহিলা।
12 And now, it is true that I am thy kinsman, howbeit there is a kinsman neerer then I.
একথা সত্যি যে আমি তোমার মুক্তিকর্তা জ্ঞাতি কিন্তু আমার থেকেও একজন আরও খুব কাছের মুক্তিকর্তা জ্ঞাতি এই নগরে আছেন।
13 Tarie to night, and when morning is come, if he will doe the duetie of a kinsman vnto thee, well, let him doe the kinsmans duetie: but if he will not doe the kinsmans part, then wil I doe the duetie of a kinsman, as the Lord liueth: sleepe vntill the morning.
আজ রাতটি এখানে কাটাও। সকালে আমি তাঁকে বলবো, যদি তিনি তোমাকে তাঁর নিজের করে গ্রহণ করেন তবে ভালো, কিন্তু তিনি যদি গ্রহণ না করেন তবে জীবিত সদাপ্রভুর নামে আমি তোমাকে আমার নিজের করে গ্রহণ করব! তাই সকাল পর্যন্ত এখানে শুয়ে থাকো।”
14 And she lay at his feete vntill the morning: and she arose before one could know another: for he sayd, Let no man knowe, that a woman came into the floore.
তাই রূত সকাল পর্যন্ত বোয়সের পায়ের তলায় শুয়ে থাকল, কিন্তু যখন লোকে একে অপরকে চিনতে পারে সেই সময় খুব অন্ধকার থাকতে সে উঠল; কারণ বোয়স তাকে বলেছিলেন, “দেখো কেউ যেন জানতে না পারে যে একজন মহিলা খামারে এসেছিল।”
15 Also he sayd, Bring the sheete that thou hast vpon thee, and holde it. And when she helde it, he measured sixe measures of barly, and layde them on her, and she went into the citie.
তিনি আরও বললেন, “তোমার গায়ের শালটি আমার কাছে এনে মেলে ধরো।” সে তাই করল, বোয়স তাকে ছয় মান যব দিলেন। এরপর সে নগরে চলে গেল।
16 And when she came to her mother in law, she sayd, Who art thou, my daughter? And she tolde her all that the man had done to her,
যখন রূত তার শাশুড়ির কাছে ফিরে এল, নয়মী তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “বাছা আমার, তোমার কী হল?” তখন রূত তার প্রতি যা কিছু ঘটেছিল, সব তার শাশুড়িকে বলল।
17 And said, These sixe measures of barly gaue he me: for he sayd to me, Thou shalt not come emptie vnto thy mother in lawe.
রূত আরও বলল, “তিনি এই ছয় মান যব আমাকে দিয়ে বললেন, ‘তোমার শাশুড়ির কাছে খালি হাতে যেয়ো না।’”
18 Then sayd she, My daughter, sit still, vntill thou knowe how the thing will fall: for the man wil not be in rest, vntill he hath finished the matter this same day.
এরপর নয়মী তাকে বলল, “বাছা আমার, এবার তুমি অপেক্ষা করো আর দেখো কী হয়। কারণ যতক্ষণ না আজ কিছু স্থির হয়, তিনি আরাম করবেন না।”
