Romans 7
1 Knowe yee not, brethren, (for I speake to them that knowe the Lawe) that the Lawe hath dominion ouer a man as long as he liueth?
Yaa obboloota, ani warra seera beekanitti nan dubbadhaatii; seerri nama tokko irratti taayitaa kan qabaatu hamma namichi sun lubbuun jiru qofa akka taʼe isin hin beektanii ree?
2 For the woman which is in subiection to a man, is bound by the Lawe to the man, while he liueth: but if the man bee dead, shee is deliuered from the lawe of the man.
Dubartiin heerumte tokko hamma inni lubbuudhaan jirutti seeraan dhirsa isheetti hidhamteerti; yoo dhirsi ishee duʼe garuu seera fuudhaa fi heerumaa sana irraa hiikamteerti.
3 So then, if while the man liueth, she taketh another man, she shalbe called an adulteresse: but if the man be dead, she is free from the Law, so that shee is not an adulteresse, though shee take another man.
Kanaafuu utuu dhirsi ishee lubbuudhaan jiruu yoo nama biraatti heerumte isheen ejjituu jedhamti. Yoo dhirsi ishee duʼe garuu waan seera sana irraa hiikamteef yoo nama biraatti heerumte illee ejjitu miti.
4 So yee, my brethren, are dead also to the Law by ye body of Christ, that ye should be vnto an other, euen vnto him that is raised vp from the dead, that we should bring foorth fruite vnto God.
Kanaafuu yaa obboloota ko, isinis akkasuma karaa dhagna Kiristoosiin seeraaf duutaniirtu; kunis akka isin kan biraa, kan isa warra duʼan keessaa kaafame sanaa taataniif; kun immoo akka nu Waaqaaf ija naqannuuf.
5 For when we were in ye flesh, the affections of sinnes, which were by the Law, had force in our members, to bring foorth fruit vnto death.
Yeroo nu akka namummaa cubbamaatti jiraachaa turretti, hawwiin cubbuu kan seeraan kakaafame sun akka nu duʼaaf ija naqannuuf dhagna keenya keessatti hojjechaa ture.
6 But now we are deliuered from the Lawe, he being dead in whom we were holden, that we should serue in newnesse of Spirite, and not in the oldnesse of the letter.
Amma garuu waan duraan nu hidhee ture sanaaf duʼuudhaan seera irraa hiikamneerra; kunis akka seera moofaa barreeffame sana jalatti tajaajilluuf utuu hin taʼin akka jireenya Hafuuraa haaraa sanaan tajaajilluuf.
7 What shall we say then? Is the Lawe sinne? God forbid. Nay, I knewe not sinne, but by the Lawe: for I had not knowen lust, except the Lawe had sayd, Thou shalt not lust.
Egaa maal jenna ree? Seerri cubbuudhaa? Gonkumaa akkas miti! Garuu ani utuu seeraan taʼuu baatee cubbuun maal akka taʼe hin beeku ture. Utuu seerri “Hin hawwin” jechuu baatee ani silaa hawwiin maal akka taʼe dhugumaan hin beeku ture.
8 But sinne tooke an occasion by ye commandement, and wrought in me all maner of concupiscence: for without the Lawe sinne is dead.
Cubbuun garuu carraa ajajni argamsiiseen hawwii hamaa gosa hundaa na keessatti uume. Lafa seerri hin jirretti cubbuun duʼaadhaatii.
9 For I once was aliue, without the Law: but when the commandement came, sinne reuiued,
Ani dur seera malee jiraachaan ture; yommuu ajajni dhufetti garuu cubbuun ni bayyanatte; anis nan duʼe.
10 But I died: and the same commandement which was ordeined vnto life, was found to be vnto me vnto death.
Ajajni jireenya fida jedhamee eegame sunis akka duʼa natti fide nan hubadhe.
11 For sinne tooke occasion by the commandement, and deceiued me, and thereby slewe me.
Cubbuun carraa ajajni argamsiiseen na gowwoomse; ajajuma sanaanis na ajjeese.
12 Wherefore the Lawe is holy, and that commandement is holy, and iust, and good.
Kanaafuu seerri qulqulluu dha; ajajni sunis qulqulluu dha; qajeelaa dha; gaarii dhas.
13 Was that then which is good, made death vnto me? God forbid: but sinne, that it might appeare sinne, wrought death in me by that which is good, that sinne might be out of measure sinfull by the commandement.
Egaa waan gaarii sanatu duʼa natti taʼee ree? Gonkumaa akkas miti! Cubbuunis akka cubbuutti akka ilaalamuuf, akka karaa ajajaatiin ittuma caalee cubbuu taʼuufis cubbuun karaa waan gaarii sanaatiin duʼa natti fide.
14 For we knowe that the Law is spirituall, but I am carnall, solde vnder sinne.
Nus akka seerri sun seera hafuuraa taʼe ni beekna; ani garuu nama foonii kan akkuma garbaatti cubbuutti gurguramee dha.
15 For I alow not that which I do: for what I would, that do I not: but what I hate, that do I.
Ani waanan hojjedhu hin beeku. Ani waanan jibbun hojjedha malee waanan hojjechuu barbaadu hin hojjedhuutii.
16 If I doe then that which I woulde not, I consent to the Lawe, that it is good.
Ani erga waanan hojjechuu hin barbaanne hojjedhee, akka seerri sun gaarii taʼe walii nan gala.
17 Nowe then, it is no more I, that doe it, but sinne that dwelleth in me.
Yoos, siʼachi cubbuu na keessa jiraatutu waan kana hojjeta malee ana miti.
18 For I know, that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to wil is preset with me: but I find no meanes to perform that which is good.
Na keessa jechuunis namummaa koo cubbamaa keessa akka wanni gaariin tokko iyyuu hin jirre nan beeka. Ani waan gaarii hojjechuu nan hawwa; garuu hojjechuu hin dandaʼu.
19 For I doe not the good thing, which I would, but the euil, which I would not, that do I.
Wanti ani hojjedhu waan hamaa ani hojjechuu hin barbaanne malee waan gaarii ani hojjechuu barbaadu mitiitii.
20 Nowe if I do that I would not, it is no more I that doe it, but the sinne that dwelleth in me.
Egaa ani waanan hojjechuu hin barbaanne yoon hojjedhe, siʼachi cubbuu na keessa jiraatu sanatu waan kana hojjeta malee ana miti.
21 I finde then that when I would doe good, I am thus yoked, that euill is present with me.
Kanaafuu akka seerri sun hojjechaa jiru nan hubadha; yommuu ani waan gaarii hojjechuu barbaadu hamminni na biratti argama.
22 For I delite in the Law of God, concerning the inner man:
Ani keessa namummaa kootti seera Waaqaattin nan gammadaatii;
23 But I see another Law in my members, rebelling against the Lawe of my minde, and leading me captiue vnto the lawe of sinne, which is in my members.
ani garuu utuu seerri biraa seera qalbii koo wajjin kutaa dhagna koo keessatti wal lolee seera cubbuu kan kutaa dhagna koo keessa jiruuf na boojiʼuu nan arga.
24 O wretched man that I am, who shall deliuer me from the body of this death!
Ani nama gadadamaa akkamii ti! Dhagna duʼu kana jalaa eenyutu na baasa?
25 I thanke God through Iesus Christ our Lord. Then I my selfe in my minde serue the Lawe of God, but in my flesh the lawe of sinne.
Karaa Gooftaa keenya Yesuus Kiristoosiin galanni Waaqaaf haa taʼu! Kanaafuu ani mataan koo qalbii kootiin garbicha seera Waaqaa ti; namummaa koo cubbamaadhaan garuu ani garbicha seera cubbuu ti.
