Romans 6
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue still in sinne, that grace may abounde? God forbid.
¿Qué podemos decir, entonces? ¿Vamos a seguir en pecado para que haya más gracia?
2 Howe shall we, that are dead to sinne, liue yet therein?
De ninguna manera. ¿Cómo podemos nosotros, que estamos muertos al pecado, cómo pues podremos seguir viviendo en pecado?
3 Knowe ye not, that all we which haue bene baptized into Iesus Christ, haue bene baptized into his death?
¿O no saben que todos los que tuvimos el bautismo en Cristo Jesús, tuvimos el bautismo en su muerte?
4 We are buried then with him by baptisme into his death, that like as Christ was raysed vp from the dead to the glorie of the Father, so we also should walke in newnesse of life.
Hemos sido puestos con él entre los muertos mediante el bautismo en la muerte: para que así como Cristo resucitó de entre los muertos por la gloria del Padre, nosotros, de la misma manera, podamos estar viviendo en una vida nueva.
5 For if we be planted with him to the similitude of his death, euen so shall we be to the similitude of his resurrection,
Porque, si hemos sido hechos como él en su muerte, seremos, de la misma manera, como él en la resurrección;
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sinne might be destroied, that henceforth we should not serue sinne.
Conscientes de que nuestro viejo hombre fue muerto en la cruz con él, para que el cuerpo del pecado pueda ser quitado, y que ya no seamos esclavos del pecado.
7 For he that is dead, is freed from sinne.
Porque el que está muerto está libre de pecado.
8 Wherefore, if we bee dead with Christ, we beleeue that we shall liue also with him,
Pero si estamos muertos con Cristo, tenemos fe en que viviremos con él;
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead, dieth no more: death hath no more dominion ouer him.
Sabiendo que Cristo ha resucitado de entre los muertos, nunca más descenderá a los muertos; la muerte no tiene más poder sobre él.
10 For in that hee died, hee died once to sinne but in that he liueth, he liueth to God.
Porque su muerte fue una muerte al pecado, pero su vida ahora es una vida que él está viviendo para Dios.
11 Likewise thinke ye also, that ye are dead to sin, but are aliue to God in Iesus Christ our Lord.
Así también véanse muertos al pecado, pero viviendo para Dios en Cristo Jesús.
12 Let not sinne reigne therefore in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in ye lusts therof:
Por esta causa no permitan que el pecado gobierne en su cuerpo que está bajo el poder de la muerte, para que cedan a su deseo;
13 Neither giue ye your members, as weapons of vnrighteousnes vnto sinne: but giue your selues vnto God, as they that are aliue from the dead, and giue your members as weapons of righteousnesse vnto God.
Y no entreguen sus cuerpos al pecado como instrumentos de maldad, sino a Dios, como los que viven de entre los muertos, y nuestros cuerpos como instrumentos para hacer lo bueno para Dios.
14 For sinne shall not haue dominion ouer you: for ye are not vnder ye Lawe, but vnder grace.
Porque el pecado no puede dominar sobre ti: porque no estás bajo la ley, sino bajo la gracia.
15 What then? shall we sinne, because we are not vnder the Law, but vnder grace? God forbid.
¿Entonces qué? ¿Vamos a seguir en pecado porque no estamos bajo la ley sino bajo la gracia? Que no sea así.
16 Knowe ye not, that to whomsoeuer yee giue your selues as seruats to obey, his seruants ye are to whom ye obey, whether it be of sinne vnto death, or of obedience vnto righteousnesse?
¿No saben que si se someten a alguien como esclavos para obedecer? Si a pecar, el final es la muerte, o si hacer el deseo de Dios, para vivir una vida de rectitud.
17 But God be thanked, that ye haue beene the seruants of sinne, but yee haue obeyed from the heart vnto the forme of the doctrine, wherunto ye were deliuered.
Pero alaben a Dios que, aunque ustedes fueron los esclavos del pecado, ahora se han entregado libremente de todo corazón a la forma de enseñanza a la cual fueron entregados;
18 Being then made free from sinne, yee are made the seruants of righteousnesse.
y siendo liberados del pecado, se han hecho siervos a una vida de rectitud.
19 I speake after the maner of man, because of the infirmitie of your flesh: for as yee haue giuen your members seruants to vncleannes and to iniquitie, to commit iniquitie, so now giue your mebers seruants vnto righteousnesse in holinesse.
Uso palabras de los hombres, por su debilidad humana: como entregaron sus cuerpos como siervos a lo que es inmundo, a la impureza y a la maldad, así también ahora, presenten su cuerpo al servicio de una vida de rectitud con el fin de vivir consagrados a Dios.
20 For when ye were the seruants of sinne, ye were freed from righteousnesse.
Cuando eran siervos del pecado, fueron libres de una vida de rectitud.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things, whereof ye are nowe ashamed? For the ende of those things is death.
¿Qué fruto tenían en ese momento en las cosas que ahora les avergüenza? porque el final de tales cosas es la muerte.
