Revelation 3
1 ANd write vnto the Angel of the Church which is at Sardis, These things saith he that hath the seuen Spirits of God, and the seuen starres, I knowe thy workes: for thou hast a name that thou liuest, but thou art dead.
« Écris aussi à l'ange de l'Église qui est dans Sardes: Voici ce que dit celui qui possède les sept esprits de Dieu et a les sept étoiles: Je connais tes œuvres; je sais que tu passes pour être vivant, tandis que tu es mort.
2 Be awake, and strengthen the things which remaine, that are readie to die: for I haue not found thy workes perfite before God.
Deviens vigilant et fortifie le reste qui s'en allait mourir, car je n'ai pas trouvé tes œuvres parfaites devant mon Dieu.
3 Remember therefore, how thou hast receiued and heard, and hold fast and repent. If therefore thou wilt not watch, I will come on thee as a thiefe, and thou shalt not know what houre I wil come vpon thee.
Souviens-toi donc comment tu as reçu et entendu, et observe, et repens-toi. Si tu ne veilles donc pas, j'arriverai comme un voleur, et tu ne sauras point à quelle heure j'arriverai sur toi.
4 Notwithstanding thou hast a few names yet in Sardis, which haue not defiled their garments: and they shall walke with me in white: for they are worthy.
Cependant tu as à Sardes un petit nombre de personnes qui n'ont pas souillé leurs vêtements, et qui marcheront avec moi dans des vêtements blancs, car elles en sont dignes.
5 He that ouercommeth, shalbe clothed in white araye, and I will not put out his name out of the booke of life, but I will confesse his name before my Father, and before his Angels.
Le vainqueur sera ainsi revêtu de vêtements blancs, et je n'effacerai certainement point son nom du livre de la vie, et je confesserai son nom devant mon Père et devant Ses anges.
6 Let him that hath an eare, heare, what the Spirite saith vnto the Churches.
Que celui qui a une oreille entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Églises. »
7 And write vnto ye Angel of ye Church which is of Philadelphia, These things saith he that is Holy, and True, which hath ye keye of Dauid, which openeth and no man shutteth, and shutteth and no man openeth,
« Écris aussi à l'ange de l'Église qui est dans Philadelphie: Voici ce que dit le véritable, le saint, celui qui tient la clef de David, celui qui ouvre et personne ne fermera, qui ferme et personne n'ouvre:
8 I knowe thy workes: beholde, I haue set before thee an open doore, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a litle strength and hast kept my worde, and hast not denied my Name.
Je connais tes œuvres; voici, j'ai mis devant toi une porte ouverte que personne ne peut fermer; car tu as une faible puissance, et tu as observé ma parole, et tu n'as pas renié mon nom.
9 Behold, I will make them of the Synagogue of Satan, which call themselues Iewes, and are not, but doe lye: beholde, I say, I will make them, that they shall come and worship before thy feete, and shall knowe that I haue loued thee.
Voici, je permets que de la synagogue de Satan, de ceux qui se disent eux-mêmes Juifs, et ils ne le sont pas, mais ils mentent…. voici, je ferai qu'ils viennent adorer à tes pieds, et qu'ils sachent que moi je t'ai aimé,
10 Because thou hast kept the woorde of my patience, therefore I wil deliuer thee from the houre of tentation, which will come vpon all the world, to trie them that dwell vpon the earth.
et que tu as observé la leçon de constance que je t'ai donnée; et moi de mon côté je te préserverai de l'heure de la tentation, qui va venir sur l'univers entier afin de mettre à l'épreuve les habitants de la terre.
11 Beholde, I come shortly: holde that which thou hast, that no man take thy crowne.
Je vais venir promptement; retiens ce que tu as, afin que personne n'enlève ta couronne.
12 Him that ouercommeth, will I make a pillar in the Temple of my God, and he shall goe no more out: and I will write vpon him the Name of my God, and the name of the citie of my God, which is the newe Hierusalem, which commeth downe out of heauen from my God, and I will write vpon him my newe Name.
Le vainqueur, j'en ferai une colonne dans le sanctuaire de mon Dieu, et il n'en sortira certainement plus, et j'écrirai dessus le nom de mon Dieu et le nom de la ville de mon Dieu, de la nouvelle Jérusalem, laquelle descend du ciel d'auprès de mon Dieu, et mon nouveau nom.
13 Let him that hath an eare, heare what ye Spirit saith vnto the Churches.
Que celui qui a une oreille entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Églises. »
14 And vnto the Angell of the Church of the Laodiceans write, These things saieth Amen, the faithfull and true witnesse, that beginning of the creatures of God.
« Écris aussi à l'ange de l'Église qui est dans Laodicée: Voici ce que dit l'amen, le témoin qui est fidèle et véritable, le commencement de la création de Dieu:
15 I knowe thy woorkes, that thou art neither colde nor hote: I woulde thou werest colde or hote.
Je connais tes œuvres; je sais que tu n'es ni froid, ni bouillant.
16 Therefore, because thou art luke warme, and neither colde nor hote, it will come to passe, that I shall spewe thee out of my mouth.
Ainsi parce que tu es tiède, et non pas froid ni bouillant, je vais te vomir de ma bouche.
17 For thou saiest, I am rich and increased with goods, and haue neede of nothing, and knowest not howe thou art wretched and miserable, and poore, and blinde, and naked.
En effet tu dis: je suis riche et je me suis enrichi, et je n'ai besoin de rien; et tu ne sais pas que toi tu es le malheureux et le misérable, et pauvre, et aveugle, et nu!
18 I counsell thee to bye of me gold tried by the fire, that thou maiest bee made rich: and white raiment, that thou maiest be clothed, and that thy filthie nakednesse doe not appeare: and anoynt thine eyes with eye salue, that thou maiest see.
Je te conseille d'acheter de moi de l'or affiné au feu afin de t'enrichir, et des vêtements blancs afin de te vêtir et de ne pas laisser paraître la honte de ta nudité, et un collyre pour enduire tes yeux afin que tu voies.
19 As many as I loue, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and amend.
Pour moi, tous ceux que j'aime, je les reprends et je les châtie; sois donc zélé, et repens-toi.
20 Behold, I stand at the doore, and knocke. If any man heare my voice and open ye doore, I wil come in vnto him, and will suppe with him, and he with me.
Voici, je me tiens auprès de la porte et je heurte: si quelqu'un entend ma voix et qu'il ouvre la porte, j'entrerai chez lui, et je souperai avec lui, et lui avec moi.
21 To him that ouercommeth, will I graunt to sit with me in my throne, euen as I ouercame, and sit with my Father in his throne.
Le vainqueur, je le ferai asseoir avec moi sur mon trône, comme moi de mon côté j'ai vaincu et me suis assis avec mon Père sur Son trône.
22 Let him that hath an eare, heare what the Spirit saieth vnto the Churches.
Que celui qui a une oreille entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Églises. »
