Psalms 1

1 Blessed is the man that doeth not walke in the counsell of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in ye seate of the scornefull:

Μακάριος ο άνθρωπος, όστις δεν περιεπάτησεν εν βουλή ασεβών, και εν οδώ αμαρτωλών δεν εστάθη, και επί καθέδρας χλευαστών δεν εκάθησεν·

2 But his delite is in the Lawe of the Lord, and in his Lawe doeth he meditate day and night.

αλλ' εν τω νόμω του Κυρίου είναι το θέλημα αυτού, και εν τω νόμω αυτού μελετά ημέραν και νύκτα.

3 For he shall be like a tree planted by the riuers of waters, that will bring foorth her fruite in due season: whose leafe shall not fade: so whatsoeuer he shall doe, shall prosper.

Και θέλει είσθαι ως δένδρον πεφυτευμένον παρά τους ρύακας των υδάτων, το οποίον δίδει τον καρπόν αυτού εν τω καιρώ αυτού, και το φύλλον αυτού δεν μαραίνεται· και πάντα, όσα αν πράττη, θέλουσιν ευοδωθή.

4 The wicked are not so, but as the chaffe, which the winde driueth away.

Δεν θέλουσιν είσθαι ούτως οι ασεβείς· αλλ' ως το λεπτόν άχυρον, το οποίον εκρίπτει ο άνεμος.

5 Therefore the wicked shall not stande in the iudgement, nor sinners in the assemblie of the righteous.

Διά τούτο δεν θέλουσιν εγερθή οι ασεβείς εν τη κρίσει, ουδέ οι αμαρτωλοί εν τη συνάξει των δικαίων.

6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous, and the way of the wicked shall perish.

Διότι γνωρίζει ο Κύριος την οδόν των δικαίων· η δε οδός των ασεβών θέλει απολεσθή.
