Psalms 99

1 The Lord reigneth, let the people tremble: he sitteth betweene the Cherubims, let the earth be moued.

Der HERR ist König: es zittern die Völker; er thront über den Cheruben: es wankt die Erde.

2 The Lord is great in Zion, and he is high aboue all the people.

Groß ist der HERR in Zion und hocherhaben über alle Völker.

3 They shall prayse thy great and fearefull Name (for it is holy)

Preisen sollen sie deinen Namen, den großen und hehren – heilig ist er –,

4 And the Kings power, that loueth iudgement: for thou hast prepared equitie: thou hast executed iudgement and iustice in Iaakob.

und preisen die Stärke des Königs, der da liebt das Recht. Du hast gerechte Ordnung fest gegründet, Recht und Gerechtigkeit hast du in Jakob hergestellt.

5 Exalt the Lord our God, and fall downe before his footestoole: for he is holy.

Erhebet den HERRN, unsern Gott, und werft euch nieder vor dem Schemel seiner Füße: heilig ist er!

6 Moses and Aaron were among his Priests, and Samuel among such as call vpon his Name: these called vpon the Lord, and he heard them.

Mose und Aaron waren unter seinen Priestern und Samuel unter denen, die seinen Namen anriefen: sie riefen zum HERRN, und er erhörte sie.

7 Hee spake vnto them in the cloudie pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the Lawe that he gaue them.

In der Wolkensäule redete er zu ihnen; sie wahrten seine Gebote, das Gesetz, das er ihnen gegeben.

8 Thou heardest them, O Lord our God: thou wast a fauourable God vnto them, though thou didst take vengeance for their inuentions.

O HERR, unser Gott, du hast sie erhört, ein verzeihender Gott bist du ihnen gewesen, doch auch ein strafender ob ihrer Vergehen.

9 Exalt the Lord our God, and fall downe before his holy Mountaine: for the Lord our God is holy.

Erhebet den HERRN, unsern Gott, und werft euch nieder auf seinem heiligen Berge, denn heilig ist der HERR, unser Gott!
