Psalms 92

1 A Psalme or song for the Sabbath day. It is a good thing to praise the Lord, and to sing vnto thy Name, O most High,

Salmo. Canto. Per il giorno del sabato. E' bello dar lode al Signore e cantare al tuo nome, o Altissimo,

2 To declare thy louing kindenesse in the morning, and thy trueth in the night,

annunziare al mattino il tuo amore, la tua fedeltà lungo la notte,

3 Vpon an instrument of tenne strings, and vpon the viole with the song vpon the harpe.

sull'arpa a dieci corde e sulla lira, con canti sulla cetra.

4 For thou, Lord, hast made mee glad by thy workes, and I wil reioyce in the workes of thine handes.

Poiché mi rallegri, Signore, con le tue meraviglie, esulto per l'opera delle tue mani.

5 O Lord, how glorious are thy workes! and thy thoughtes are very deepe.

Come sono grandi le tue opere, Signore, quanto profondi i tuoi pensieri!

6 An vnwise man knoweth it not, and a foole doeth not vnderstand this,

L'uomo insensato non intende e lo stolto non capisce:

7 (When the wicked growe as the grasse, and all the workers of wickednesse doe flourish) that they shall be destroyed for euer.

se i peccatori germogliano come l'erba e fioriscono tutti i malfattori, li attende una rovina eterna:

8 But thou, O Lord, art most High for euermore.

ma tu sei l'eccelso per sempre, o Signore.

9 For loe, thine enemies, O Lord: for loe, thine enemies shall perish: all the workers of iniquitie shall be destroyed.

Ecco, i tuoi nemici, o Signore, ecco, i tuoi nemici periranno, saranno dispersi tutti i malfattori.

10 But thou shalt exalt mine horne, like the vnicornes, and I shalbe anoynted with fresh oyle.

Tu mi doni la forza di un bùfalo, mi cospargi di olio splendente.

11 Mine eye also shall see my desire against mine enemies: and mine eares shall heare my wish against the wicked, that rise vp against me.

I miei occhi disprezzeranno i miei nemici, e contro gli iniqui che mi assalgono i miei orecchi udranno cose infauste.

12 The righteous shall flourish like a palme tree, and shall grow like a Cedar in Lebanon.

Il giusto fiorirà come palma, crescerà come cedro del Libano;

13 Such as bee planted in the house of the Lord, shall flourish in the courtes of our God.

piantati nella casa del Signore, fioriranno negli atri del nostro Dio.

14 They shall still bring foorth fruite in their age: they shall be fat and flourishing,

Nella vecchiaia daranno ancora frutti, saranno vegeti e rigogliosi,

15 To declare that the Lord my rocke is righteous, and that none iniquitie is in him.

per annunziare quanto è retto il Signore: mia roccia, in lui non c'è ingiustizia.
