Psalms 90
1 A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, thou hast bene our habitation from generation to generation.
Prière de Moïse, homme de Dieu. Seigneur, tu as été pour nous une retraite D'âge en âge.
2 Before the mountaines were made, and before thou hadst formed the earth, and the world, euen from euerlasting to euerlasting thou art our God.
Avant que les montagnes fussent nées, Et que tu eusses formé la terre et le monde. D'éternité en éternité, tu es Dieu.
3 Thou turnest man to destruction: againe thou sayest, Returne, ye sonnes of Adam.
Tu réduis l'homme en poussière. Et tu dis: Fils d'Adam, retournez à la terre!
4 For a thousande yeeres in thy sight are as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
Car mille ans sont à tes yeux Comme le jour d'hier qui est passé, Comme une veille dans la nuit.
5 Thou hast ouerflowed them: they are as a sleepe: in the morning he groweth like the grasse:
Tu les emportes; ils sont comme un songe. Ils sont comme une herbe qui naît le matin:
6 In the morning it florisheth and groweth, but in the euening it is cut downe and withereth.
Elle fleurit le matin, et elle pousse; Le soir, on la coupe et elle sèche.
7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
Nous sommes consumés par ta colère Et anéantis par ton courroux.
8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, and our secret sinnes in the light of thy countenance.
Tu as fait passer devant toi nos iniquités. Et devant la lumière de ta face nos fautes cachées.
9 For all our dayes are past in thine anger: we haue spent our yeeres as a thought.
Tous nos jours s'évanouissent devant ton courroux; Nos années disparaissent comme un souffle.
10 The time of our life is threescore yeeres and ten, and if they be of strength, fourescore yeeres: yet their strength is but labour and sorowe: for it is cut off quickly, and we flee away.
Les jours de nos années s'élèvent à soixante et dix ans Et, pour les plus robustes, à quatre-vingts; Et ce qui en fait l'orgueil n'est que peine et tourment: Tout cela passe vite, et nous nous envolons!
11 Who knoweth the power of thy wrath? for according to thy feare is thine anger.
Qui connaît la force de ta colère et l'ardeur de ton courroux? Oui ressent la crainte qui t'est due?
12 Teach vs so to nomber our dayes, that we may apply our heartes vnto wisdome.
Enseigne-nous à bien compter nos jours. Afin que notre coeur s'ouvre aux leçons de la sagesse!
13 Returne (O Lord, howe long?) and be pacified toward thy seruants.
Reviens, ô Éternel! Jusques à quand? Aie compassion de tes serviteurs!
14 Fill vs with thy mercie in the morning: so shall we reioyce and be glad all our dayes.
Dès le matin, rassasie-nous de ta bonté, Et nous serons dans l'allégresse et dans la joie Tout le long de nos jours.
15 Comfort vs according to the dayes that thou hast afflicted vs, and according to the yeeres that we haue seene euill.
Donne-nous autant de jours de joie Que tu nous as donné de jours d'épreuves, Et d'années où nous avons connu le malheur.
16 Let thy worke bee seene towarde thy seruants, and thy glory vpon their children.
Que ta puissance éclate aux yeux de tes serviteurs, Et que ta gloire resplendisse sur leurs enfants!
17 And let the beautie of the Lord our God be vpon vs, and direct thou the worke of our hands vpon vs, euen direct the worke of our handes.
Que la bienveillance de l'Éternel, notre Dieu, repose sur nous! Affermis notre oeuvre entre nos mains. Oui, affermis l'oeuvre de nos mains!
