< Psalms 89 >

1 A Psalme to give instruction, of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing the mercies of the Lord for euer: with my mouth will I declare thy trueth from generation to generation.
A poem of Ethan the Ezrachite. [the] covenant loyalti of Yahweh forever I will sing to a generation and a generation - I will make known faithfulness your with mouth my.
2 For I said, Mercie shalbe set vp for euer: thy trueth shalt thou stablish in ye very heauens.
For I have said forever covenant loyalty it will be built [the] heavens - you establish faithfulness your in them.
3 I haue made a couenant with my chosen: I haue sworne to Dauid my seruant,
I have made a covenant to chosen one my I have sworn an oath to David servant my.
4 Thy seede will I stablish for euer, and set vp thy throne from generation to generation. (Selah)
Until perpetuity I will establish offspring your and I will build to a generation and a generation throne your (Selah)
5 O Lord, euen the heauens shall prayse thy wonderous worke: yea, thy trueth in the Congregation of the Saints.
So they may praise [the] heavens wonder[s] your O Yahweh also faithfulness your in [the] assembly of [the] holy [ones].
6 For who is equall to the Lord in the heauen? and who is like the Lord among the sonnes of the gods?
For who? in the cloud[s] is he comparable to Yahweh is he like? Yahweh among [the] sons of gods.
7 God is very terrible in the assemblie of the Saints, and to be reuerenced aboue all, that are about him.
God [is] awesome in [the] council of [the] holy [ones] much and to be feared above all [those] around him.
8 O Lord God of hostes, who is like vnto thee, which art a mightie Lord, and thy trueth is about thee?
O Yahweh - God of hosts who? like you [is] mighty - O Yahweh and faithfulness your [is] around you.
9 Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waues thereof arise, thou stillest them.
You [are] ruling over [the] swelling of the sea when rise up waves its you you calm them.
10 Thou hast beaten downe Rahab as a man slaine: thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy mightie arme.
You you crushed like [one] slain Rahab with [the] arm of strength your you scattered enemies your.
11 The heauens are thine, the earth also is thine: thou hast layde the foundation of the world, and all that therein is.
[belongs] to You heaven also [belongs] to you [the] earth [the] world and what fills it you you founded them.
12 Thou hast created the North and the South: Tabor and Hermon shall reioyce in thy Name.
[the] north And [the] south you you created them Tabor and Hermon at name your they shout for joy.
13 Thou hast a mightie arme: strong is thine hand, and high is thy right hand.
[belongs] to You an arm with strength it is strong hand your it is exalted right [hand] your.
14 Righteousnesse and equitie are the stablishment of thy throne: mercy and trueth goe before thy face.
[is] righteousness And justice [the] foundation of throne your covenant loyalty and faithfulness they come to meet face your.
15 Blessed is the people, that can reioyce in thee: they shall walke in the light of thy countenance, O Lord.
How blessed! [is] the people [which] know a shout of joy O Yahweh in [the] light of presence your they walk!
16 They shall reioyce continually in thy Name, and in thy righteousnes shall they exalt them selues.
In name your they rejoice! all the day and in righteousness your they are exalted.
17 For thou art the glory of their strength, and by thy fauour our hornes shall be exalted.
For [are] [the] splendor of strength their you and in favor your (it is exalted *Q(K)*) horn our.
18 For our shield apperteineth to the Lord, and our King to the holy one of Israel.
For [belongs] to Yahweh shield our and [belongs] to [the] holy [one] of Israel king our.
19 Thou spakest then in a vision vnto thine Holy one, and saydest, I haue layde helpe vpon one that is mightie: I haue exalted one chosen out of the people.
Then you spoke in a vision to faithful [people] your and you said I have placed help on a warrior I have raised up a chosen [one] from [the] people.
20 I haue found Dauid my seruant: with mine holy oyle haue I anoynted him.
I have found David servant my with [the] oil of holiness my I have anointed him.
21 Therefore mine hande shall be established with him, and mine arme shall strengthen him.
Whom hand my it will be steadfast with him also arm my it will strengthen him.
22 The enemie shall not oppresse him, neither shall the wicked hurt him.
Not he will deceive an enemy him and a son of injustice not he will afflict him.
23 But I will destroy his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
And I will crush from before him opponents his and [those who] hate him I will strike down.
24 My trueth also and my mercie shall be with him, and in my Name shall his horne be exalted.
And faithfulness my and covenant loyalty my [will be] with him and in name my it will be exalted horn his.
25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the floods.
And I will set on the sea hand his and on the rivers right [hand] his.
26 He shall cry vnto mee, Thou art my Father, my God and the rocke of my saluation.
He he will call out to me [are] father my you God my and [the] rock of salvation my.
27 Also I wil make him my first borne, higher then the Kings of the earth.
Also I firstborn I will make him most high to [the] kings of [the] earth.
28 My mercie will I keepe for him for euermore, and my couenant shall stande fast with him.
For ever (I will keep *Q(k)*) to him covenant loyalty my and covenant my [will be] reliable to him.
29 His seede also will I make to endure for euer, and his throne as the dayes of heauen.
And I will establish for ever offspring his and throne his like [the] days of [the] heavens.
30 But if his children forsake my Lawe, and walke not in my iudgements:
If they will forsake sons his law my and in judgments my not they will walk!
31 If they breake my statutes, and keepe not my commandements:
If statutes my they will violate and commandments my not they will keep.
32 Then will I visite their transgression with the rod, and their iniquitie with strokes.
And I will punish with a rod transgression their and with plagues iniquity their.
33 Yet my louing kindnesse will I not take from him, neither will I falsifie my trueth.
And covenant loyalty my not I will break off from with him and not I will deal falsely with faithfulness my.
34 My couenant wil I not breake, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
Not I will violate covenant my and [the] utterance of lips my not I will change.
35 I haue sworne once by mine holines, that I will not fayle Dauid, saying,
One [time] I have sworn an oath by holiness my if to David I will lie.
36 His seede shall endure for euer, and his throne shalbe as the sunne before me.
Offspring his for ever it will be and throne his like the sun before me.
37 He shalbe established for euermore as the moone, and as a faythfull witnes in the heauen. (Selah)
Like [the] moon it will be established forever and a witness in the cloud[s] [will be] reliable (Selah)
38 But thou hast reiected and abhorred, thou hast bene angry with thine Anoynted.
And you you have spurned and you have rejected you have been furious with anointed your.
39 Thou hast broken the couenant of thy seruant, and profaned his crowne, casting it on the ground.
You have repudiated [the] covenant of servant your you have profaned to the ground crown his.
40 Thou hast broken downe all his walles: thou hast layd his fortresses in ruine.
You have broken through all walls his you have made strongholds his a ruin.
41 All that goe by the way, spoyle him: he is a rebuke vnto his neighbours.
They have plundered him all [those who] pass by of [the] road he has become a reproach to neighbors his.
42 Thou hast set vp the right hand of his enemies, and made all his aduersaries to reioyce.
You have exalted [the] right [hand] of opponents his you have made to rejoice all enemies his.
43 Thou hast also turned the edge of his sworde, and hast not made him to stand in the battell.
Also you turn back [the] flint of sword his and not you have raised up him in battle.
44 Thou hast caused his dignitie to decay, and cast his throne to the ground.
You have made cease from luster his and throne his to the ground you have thrown.
45 The dayes of his youth hast thou shortned, and couered him with shame. (Selah)
You have made short [the] days of youth his you have wrapped on him shame (Selah)
46 Lord, howe long wilt thou hide thy selfe, for euer? shall thy wrath burne like fire?
Until when? O Yahweh will you hide yourself? to perpetuity will it burn? like a fire anger your.
47 Remember of what time I am: wherefore shouldest thou create in vaine all the children of men?
Remember I what? [is] lifespan concerning what? emptiness have you created all [the] children of humankind.
48 What man liueth, and shall not see death? shall hee deliuer his soule from the hande of the graue? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Who? [is the] man [who] he will live and not he will see death [who] he will deliver life his from [the] hand of Sheol (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
49 Lord, where are thy former mercies, which thou swarest vnto Dauid in thy trueth?
Where? - [are] covenant loyalti your former - O Lord [which] you swore an oath to David in faithfulness your.
50 Remember, O Lord, the rebuke of thy seruants, which I beare in my bosome of all the mightie people.
Remember O Lord [the] reproach of servants your bearing my in bosom my all many peoples.
51 For thine enemies haue reproched thee, O Lord, because they haue reproched the footesteps of thine Anointed.
Which they have reproached enemies your - O Yahweh which they have reproached [the] footprints of anointed your.
52 Praised be the Lord for euermore. So be it, euen so be it.
[be] blessed Yahweh for ever amen - and amen.
