Psalms 86

1 A prayer of David. Incline thine eare, O Lord, and heare me: for I am poore and needy.

Signore, tendi l'orecchio, rispondimi, perché io sono povero e infelice. Supplica. Di Davide.

2 Preserue thou my soule, for I am mercifull: my God, saue thou thy seruant, that trusteth in thee.

Custodiscimi perché sono fedele; tu, Dio mio, salva il tuo servo, che in te spera.

3 Be mercifull vnto me, O Lord: for I crie vpon thee continually.

Pietà di me, Signore, a te grido tutto il giorno.

4 Reioyce the soule of thy seruant: for vnto thee, O Lord, doe I lift vp my soule.

Rallegra la vita del tuo servo, perché a te, Signore, innalzo l'anima mia.

5 For thou, Lord, art good and mercifull, and of great kindenes vnto all them, that call vpon thee.

Tu sei buono, Signore, e perdoni, sei pieno di misericordia con chi ti invoca.

6 Giue eare, Lord, vnto my prayer, and hearken to the voyce of my supplication.

Porgi l'orecchio, Signore, alla mia preghiera e sii attento alla voce della mia supplica.

7 In the day of my trouble I will call vpon thee: for thou hearest me.

Nel giorno dell'angoscia alzo a te il mio grido e tu mi esaudirai.

8 Among the gods there is none like thee, O Lord, and there is none that can doe like thy workes.

Fra gli dei nessuno è come te, Signore, e non c'è nulla che uguagli le tue opere.

9 All nations, whome thou hast made, shall come and worship before thee, O Lord, and shall glorifie thy Name.

Tutti i popoli che hai creato verranno e si prostreranno davanti a te, o Signore, per dare gloria al tuo nome;

10 For thou art great and doest wonderous things: thou art God alone.

grande tu sei e compi meraviglie: tu solo sei Dio.

11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and I will walke in thy trueth: knit mine heart vnto thee, that I may feare thy Name.

Mostrami, Signore, la tua via, perché nella tua verità io cammini; donami un cuore semplice che tema il tuo nome.

12 I wil prayse thee, O Lord my God, with all mine heart: yea, I wil glorifie thy Name for euer.

Ti loderò, Signore, Dio mio, con tutto il cuore e darò gloria al tuo nome sempre,

13 For great is thy mercie toward me, and thou hast deliuered my soule from the lowest graue. (Sheol h7585)

perché grande con me è la tua misericordia: dal profondo degli inferi mi hai strappato. (Sheol h7585)

14 O God, the proude are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men haue sought my soule, and haue not set thee before them.

Mio Dio, mi assalgono gli arroganti, una schiera di violenti attenta alla mia vita, non pongono te davanti ai loro occhi.

15 But thou, O Lord, art a pitifull God and mercifull, slowe to anger and great in kindenes and trueth.

Ma tu, Signore, Dio di pietà, compassionevole, lento all'ira e pieno di amore, Dio fedele,

16 Turne vnto me, and haue mercy vpon me: giue thy strength vnto thy seruant, and saue the sonne of thine handmayd.

volgiti a me e abbi misericordia: dona al tuo servo la tua forza, salva il figlio della tua ancella.

17 Shew a token of thy goodnes towarde me, that they which hate me, may see it, and be ashamed, because thou, O Lord, hast holpen me and comforted me.

Dammi un segno di benevolenza; vedano e siano confusi i miei nemici, perché tu, Signore, mi hai soccorso e consolato.
