Psalms 85
1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Lord, thou hast bene fauourable vnto thy land: thou hast brought againe the captiuitie of Iaakob.
Auf den Siegesspender, von den Korachiten, ein Lied. Du hast Dein Land begnadet, Herr, und Jakobs Schicksal umgewandelt,
2 Thou hast forgiuen the iniquitie of thy people, and couered all their sinnes. (Selah)
vergeben Deines Volkes Schuld, bedeckt all ihr Vergehen. (Sela)
3 Thou hast withdrawen all thine anger, and hast turned backe from the fiercenes of thy wrath.
Du zogst all Deinen Grimm zurück und dämpftest Deine Zornesglut.
4 Turne vs, O God of our saluation, and release thine anger toward vs.
Du, unser hilfereicher Gott, geh weiterhin mit uns! Und tilge vollends Deinen Unmut wider uns!
5 Wilt thou be angry with vs for euer? and wilt thou prolong thy wrath from one generation to another?
Willst Du denn ewig auf uns zürnen, auf alle Zeiten Deinen Zorn ausdehnen?
6 Wilt thou not turne againe and quicken vs, that thy people may reioyce in thee?
Willst Du uns nicht aufs neu beleben, auf daß Dein Volk sich Deiner freue?
7 Shew vs thy mercie, O Lord, and graunt vs thy saluation.
Erzeig uns Deine Gnade, Herr! Gewähre uns Dein Heil! -
8 I will hearken what the Lord God will say: for he will speake peace vnto his people, and to his Saintes, that they turne not againe to follie.
Ich möchte hören, was der Herr verheißt: Er spricht von Frieden für sein Volk und seine Frommen, für die, die umkehren, von Hoffnung.
9 Surely his saluation is neere to them that feare him, that glory may dwell in our land.
Schon naht sein Heil sich denen, die ihn fürchten, auf daß die Herrlichkeit in unserm Lande wieder wohne.
10 Mercie and trueth shall meete: righteousnes and peace shall kisse one another.
Dann finden sich die Liebe und die Treue; Gerechtigkeit und Frieden küssen sich.
11 Trueth shall bud out of the earth, and righteousnes shall looke downe from heauen.
Die Treue reckt auf Erden sich, und die Gerechtigkeit neigt sich vom Himmel.
12 Yea, the Lord shall giue good things, and our land shall giue her increase.
Der Herr beschert alsdann den Segen, und unser Land gibt seine volle Ernte wieder.
13 Righteousnesse shall go before him, and shall set her steps in the way.
Gerechtigkeit geht vor ihm her, und auf dem Wege seiner Schritte ist Geradheit.
