Psalms 85
1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Lord, thou hast bene fauourable vnto thy land: thou hast brought againe the captiuitie of Iaakob.
Pour le chef musicien. Un psaume par les fils de Korah. Yahvé, tu as été favorable à ton pays. Vous avez restauré la fortune de Jacob.
2 Thou hast forgiuen the iniquitie of thy people, and couered all their sinnes. (Selah)
Tu as pardonné l'iniquité de ton peuple. Tu as couvert tous leurs péchés. (Selah)
3 Thou hast withdrawen all thine anger, and hast turned backe from the fiercenes of thy wrath.
Tu as ôté toute ta colère. Tu t'es détourné de l'ardeur de ta colère.
4 Turne vs, O God of our saluation, and release thine anger toward vs.
Tourne-nous, Dieu de notre salut, et fais cesser ton indignation à notre égard.
5 Wilt thou be angry with vs for euer? and wilt thou prolong thy wrath from one generation to another?
Seras-tu toujours en colère contre nous? Voulez-vous étendre votre colère à toutes les générations?
6 Wilt thou not turne againe and quicken vs, that thy people may reioyce in thee?
Ne nous ranimeras-tu pas encore, pour que ton peuple se réjouisse en toi?
7 Shew vs thy mercie, O Lord, and graunt vs thy saluation.
Montre-nous ta bonté, Yahvé. Accorde-nous ton salut.
8 I will hearken what the Lord God will say: for he will speake peace vnto his people, and to his Saintes, that they turne not againe to follie.
J'écouterai ce que Dieu, Yahvé, dira, car il parlera de paix à son peuple, ses saints; mais qu'ils ne se tournent pas à nouveau vers la folie.
9 Surely his saluation is neere to them that feare him, that glory may dwell in our land.
Son salut est proche de ceux qui le craignent, pour que la gloire habite dans notre pays.
10 Mercie and trueth shall meete: righteousnes and peace shall kisse one another.
La miséricorde et la vérité se rencontrent. La justice et la paix se sont embrassées.
11 Trueth shall bud out of the earth, and righteousnes shall looke downe from heauen.
La vérité jaillit de la terre. La justice a regardé du haut des cieux.
12 Yea, the Lord shall giue good things, and our land shall giue her increase.
Oui, Yahvé donnera ce qui est bon. Notre terre donnera ses fruits.
13 Righteousnesse shall go before him, and shall set her steps in the way.
La justice le précède, et prépare le chemin pour ses pas.
