Psalms 83
1 A song, or Psalme committed to Asaph. Keep not thou silence, O God: bee not still, and cease not, O God.
Cantique du psaume d’Asaph. Ô Dieu, qui sera semblable à vous? Ne vous taisez pas, et ne soyez pas retenu, ô Dieu,
2 For lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee, haue lifted vp the head.
Parce que voilà que vos ennemis se sont assemblés en tumulte, ont fait un grand bruit, et que ceux qui vous haïssent ont levé la tête.
3 They haue taken craftie counsell against thy people, and haue consulted against thy secret ones.
Contre votre peuple ils ont formé un dessein plein de malice, et ils ont conspiré contre vos saints.
4 They haue said, Come and let vs cut them off from being a nation: and let the name of Israel be no more in remembrance.
Ils ont dit: Venez, et perdons-les entièrement, en sorte qu’ils ne soient plus un peuple, qu’on ne se souvienne pas du nom d’Israël, dans la suite.
5 For they haue consulted together in heart, and haue made a league against thee:
Parce qu’ils ont conspiré unanimement, qu’ensemble contre vous ils ont fait alliance,
6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Agarims:
Les tabernacles des Iduméens et les Ismaélites: Moab, et les Agaréniens,
7 Gebal and Ammon, and Amalech, the Philistims with the inhabitants of Tyrus:
Gébal et Ammon et Amalec: des étrangers avec les habitants de Tyr.
8 Asshur also is ioyned with them: they haue bene an arme to the children of Lot. (Selah)
Et aussi Assur est venu avec eux: ils ont prêté secours aux fils de Lot.
9 Doe thou to them as vnto the Midianites: as to Sisera and as to Iabin at the riuer of Kishon.
Faites-leur comme à Madian et à Sisara; comme à Jabin au torrent de Cisson.
10 They perished at En-dor, and were dung for the earth.
Ils périrent entièrement à Endor: ils devinrent comme un fumier pour la terre.
11 Make them, euen their princes like Oreb and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes like Zebah and like Zalmuna.
Traitez leurs princes comme Oreb, et Zeb, et Zébée, et Salmana: Tous leurs princes,
12 Which haue said, Let vs take for our possession the habitations of God.
Qui ont dit: Possédons en héritage le sanctuaire de Dieu.
13 O my God, make them like vnto a wheele, and as the stubble before the winde.
Mon Dieu, rendez-les comme une roue, et comme une paille devant la face du vent.
14 As the fire burneth the forest, and as the flame setteth the mountaines on fire:
Comme un feu qui brûle entièrement une forêt, et comme une flamme brûlant entièrement des montagnes;
15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraide with thy storme.
Ainsi vous les poursuivrez par votre tempête, et dans votre colère vous les troublerez.
16 Fill their faces with shame, that they may seeke thy Name, O Lord.
Remplissez leurs faces d’ignominie, et ils chercheront votre nom, ô Seigneur.
17 Let them be confounded and troubled for euer: yea, let them be put to shame and perish,
Qu’ils rougissent, et qu’ils soient troublés dans les siècles des siècles: qu’ils soient confondus et qu’ils périssent.
18 That they may knowe that thou, which art called Iehouah, art alone, euen the most High ouer all the earth.
Et qu’ils sachent que votre nom est le Seigneur, que vous seul êtes le Très-Haut sur toute la terre.
